The current captain of the boxing club was a senior from Third-Year Class A named Satou. He was the runner-up in last year's National High School Boxing Championship. The prestige of this tournament was extremely high, equivalent to being the national runner-up in high school boxing, a true top-tier honor. With such an achievement, Satou-senpai had already been scouted by the national team. After graduation, he would not only be guaranteed admission to a top sports university but might even go directly into professional boxing. And as a graduate of Class A, his academic performance was also excellent. Even without a sports scholarship, he could easily get into a prestigious university based on his grades alone. He was a true all-rounder with a limitless future.
However, as a third-year, Satou-senpai's role had naturally shifted. He had not only taken over as captain but also served as the club's coach. Now, he dedicated all his energy to training the second-year members and guiding the first-year newcomers. Captain Satou's personality was as straightforward as his punches. For him, conversations between men were often settled with fists in the ring.
At noon, when Kiyomizu brought Kei Karuizawa to the boxing club, Captain Satou didn't even wait for them to explain, slapping his approval with a laugh. "Manager? No problem at all!" He then slammed a heavy fist onto Kiyomizu's shoulder, making him stumble back half a step. Among all the new students, Captain Satou had special expectations for Kiyomizu. This junior was like an un-carved jade.
Usually, people with outstanding physical abilities have had some experience with a martial art or two. But such people often have bad habits that are hard to correct. For example, someone who practiced karate might subconsciously want to use a roundhouse kick, which is strictly forbidden under boxing rules. But Kiyomizu was completely different. This junior had spent a full eight years training only the basics, like a max-level starting character in a game who refuses to choose a specialization. Because of this, when he officially started learning boxing systematically, his progress was astonishingly fast. His pure foundation had become a precious blank canvas.
...
Before they left, Satou-senpai patted Kiyomizu's shoulder. "You don't need to come to practice so often from now on." Seeing Kiyomizu's slight surprise, he added with a smile, "Just come occasionally. To be honest, your rate of improvement... is just too amazing." The senior's gaze swept over the other new students practicing on the side. "It might be affecting the morale of the other members. If you have nothing better to do, you could check out the student council."
Kiyomizu nodded slightly without saying much. This innate body of his did indeed possess surprising athletic talent.
"That Captain Satou... seems to really value you," Karuizawa suddenly broke the silence on the way back to the classroom.
Kiyomizu shrugged. "He's just after this strong body of mine."
Karuizawa's steps suddenly faltered. At that moment, she realized that she and the hearty boxing captain were no different. "Making you ask the captain... I feel a little bad, haha." Karuizawa tried to cover her embarrassment with a light laugh.
Kiyomizu threw up his hands. "Well, 80,000 points isn't free."
"Speaking of which—why did you protect Sakura-san earlier? Don't tell me... she signed some secret contract with you too?"
"No, nothing like that."
"Ehh—? Nothing? That's not fair! I paid a solid 80,000 points!"
"You didn't buy exclusive protection rights."
Karuizawa pouted in dissatisfaction, but Kiyomizu just gave her a cool glance, pretending not to hear. The money she paid bought his protection, but it didn't stipulate that he could only protect her.
...
During the afternoon swim class, the students headed to their respective changing rooms. It was only then that Kiyomizu noticed a peculiar aspect of Japanese high school swim classes. The girls wore standard one-piece swimsuits, while the boys only had to wear a pair of athletic shorts. It was a public execution of one's physique. Watching a few of the scrawnier boys awkwardly hug themselves, Kiyomizu couldn't help but shake his head. In this situation, the out-of-shape boys were probably more embarrassed than the girls in their swimsuits.
However, for him personally, being shirtless was no big deal. In the changing room, while shirtless, Kiyomizu suddenly noticed that Ayanokoji's physique was also surprisingly outstanding. His muscle definition was very well-proportioned, every line perfectly streamlined. This refined build even surpassed Hirata's sturdiness and Sudo's bulk, displaying a kind of restrained and ultimate aesthetic of power. Looking at the entire class, probably only Rokusuke Koenji's near-perfect physique, and Kiyomizu's own, could compare.
The gazes of the other boys were unconsciously drawn to these three. Some subconsciously touched their own flat stomachs, while others straightened their backs. Besides secretly comparing certain unspeakable sizes, the comparison of muscles was also a silent war among men.
"Kiyomizu-kun, Ayanokoji-kun, how on earth did you get bodies like that?!" Kanji Ike suddenly approached, his eyes shining with a mix of envy and suspicion.
Kiyomizu crossed his arms and answered with a straight face, "It's simple. 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, 100 squats, and a 10-kilometer run every day. And no matter how hot it is, never turn on the air conditioner."
Ayanokoji, as usual, remained expressionless, his tone as flat as if he were stating the weather. "Nothing special. I just inherited my parents' constitution."
"Hey! You two!" Ike's mouth twitched, and he couldn't help but shout, "One of you is clearly spouting nonsense from a manga, and the other can't even be bothered to make up a decent excuse! Who are you trying to fool with such half-assed answers?!"
The surrounding boys couldn't help but laugh, but their eyes still lingered on the two near-perfect bodies for a few more seconds. No matter how they tried to hide it, their envy and jealousy were palpable.
Shortly after the boys arrived at the pool area, the girls began to appear in small groups from their changing room. Surprisingly, Haruka Hasebe, Airi Sakura, and a few other girls didn't go directly to the pool but appeared on the second-floor viewing platform instead. However, before the boys could lament Haruka's absence, a commotion erupted at the pool entrance—Kikyo Kushida had arrived. She walked with light steps, the sunlight reflecting off the water, outlining her perfect curves. Her fair thighs trembled slightly with each step, her full hips looked even more shapely in the swimsuit, and the impressive curve of her chest made the boys collectively hold their breath.
"Whoa!"
"Amazing!"
Gasps of admiration erupted from the group of boys. Kiyomizu couldn't help but glance at her a few times before slowly looking away.
(I have to admit, Kushida's figure is truly something else.)
