FWOOSH—
The man in front of Muramasa swung his naginata in an upward diagonal slash, aiming straight for his side.
If possible, I really don't want to fight these guys. It wasn't a matter of strength; he just didn't dislike these people who were so serious they were almost reclusive.
His thoughts ended there. Muramasa sidestepped back into the doorway to dodge the blade, but there was no time to relax—the other naginata thrust from the other side. The narrow doorway wasn't wide enough for sweeping attacks. Muramasa took a step out of the doorframe to gain more room to maneuver, dodged the blade, and intended to grab the long shaft to disarm his opponent first.
However, the men behind him didn't give him the chance. The two guards who had been by Kujou Sara's side leaped over the fence surrounding the hut and slashed down, one from the front and one from the back. Attacked by the pair, Muramasa had to abandon his plan to seize the weapon and dodged to the side, under the eaves of the hut.
As he dodged, his Karmic Eyes captured the enemy's next move—Kujou Sara was suspended in mid-air, her bow drawn, aiming at his landing spot.
"Muramasa—" From the back of the house, Hailing grabbed a sword that had been commissioned but not yet picked up and threw it to him, scabbard and all.
I don't really need this… Muramasa thought to himself, but his gaze was fixed on her worried expression. He reached out and caught the sword, using the scabbard to parry Sara's arrow.
At that moment, the three men attacked again. The two at the back put away their naginatas, which were difficult to use in the narrow space. They drew their swords; one circled to the outside, the other hugged the wall. One aimed for his upper body, the other for his lower.
Honestly, this situation makes me a little nostalgic for the battles 'over there'… He thought to himself, then ducked, dodging the blade aimed at his neck. At the same time, he pushed off with his legs and flipped forward, passing through the gap between the two swords.
SWISH, SWISH—
Kujou Sara seized the opportunity and fired two more arrows. However, he pressed his hand on his mantle, and the magical energy organ on his arm seemed to come to life, extending onto the cloth.
CLANG, CLANG.
The sharp sounds were as if the arrows had hit a steel plate.
Kujou Sara was still doubtful, but then she saw another attendant, seeing that Muramasa was out of the narrow space, pick up his teammate's naginata and bring it down on his head.
"Let's find another place to fight." He was worried the ensuing battle would affect the people inside the house. So, he stomped on the naginata that was swinging at him again, driving it into the floorboards, and then leaped far away.
So fast. Everyone who witnessed his movement, except for Yoimiya, had the same thought.
"Don't just watch. Maintain formation," Kujou Sara ordered, then added, "He's not even trying yet."
The attendants, who were all exceptional warriors in their own right, exchanged a look, their expressions growing more serious. They had all heard about his fight with the 'Tiger's Obsession', but only after this brief exchange did they realize the depth of his skill.
So, they quickly followed. One of them, a flicker of anemo green in his 'eye', made them all several times lighter than usual.
Muramasa stopped in an open area far from the village, sheathed his sword at his waist, and waited for them to arrive.
Three o'clock, ten o'clock, twelve o'clock… The pursuers landed one by one, facing him as if he were a great enemy.
One of the soldiers in the front row broke the silence. "Senji Muramasa, you said that leaving after being placed under supervision would be seen as fleeing out of guilt, but resisting arrest now is the same thing, isn't it?"
"So why do you think I went to the trouble of changing locations?" Muramasa said with a teasing smile. "And, I just don't trust the Tenryou Commission. That one behind you, she's still worth something around here."
Needless to say, the one 'worth something' was Kujou Sara. This guy couldn't help but speak up. Looks like some people's stress tolerance still needs some work, he thought to himself.
"Attack." Kujou Sara made no comment on their words, only a single, simple command. At the same time, she raised her right hand and chanted, "In praise of the great Narukami Ogosho, your faithful servant beseeches the yellow thunder."
Purple energy swirled around her, forming a net of lightning at her feet. "Svaha!"
Muramasa didn't move, because the lightning spell was not aimed at him. The purple energy poured into the bodies of the attendants, stimulating every cell.
"Hah!" they all shouted in unison, then transformed into four afterimages, closing in on him.
"Phew…" Watching them approach, he didn't draw his sword. He just increased his magical energy and effortlessly dodged the tide of attacks. Their coordination is impeccable… With their enhanced physical abilities, if a weaker Servant had to face their attacks, they would probably be in some trouble.
As he dodged their attacks, he even had time to observe Kujou Sara's movements. Her expression was like ice, her arrow poised and ready. But she was reading him, trying to figure out what he was thinking. Based on the combat prowess he's shown so far, he shouldn't be taking this long to deal with my men.
I'm just not feeling it… Muramasa silently replied to the General's thoughts. It would be easy to end this predicament by just swinging his sword. After that, he could find a place to hide and still complete the commission to 'stay alive'. But that would be unpleasant.
"Can you hurry it up?" A rare, genuine smile appeared on his serious face. "Someone's waiting for me to come home for dinner."
…
Muramasa's Thatched Hut
The marks in front of the door showed that the recent events were not a dream. Yoimiya and Hailing were unusually quiet. In the room, only Sayu's soft snores were clearly audible.
"Will Muramasa… be okay?" Hailing, who had only seen him fight the ronin, was worried. After all, his enemies were the elite of the elite from the Inazuma Tenryou Commission.
"He will be." Yoimiya shook her head firmly, but her heart was also filled with worry. Her concern was different, though. She was worried that if he truly became an enemy of the Tenryou Commission, it would be difficult for him to establish himself here in the future.
At that moment, Sayu was still asleep.
"My, my, to make two young ladies worry so much, that blacksmith is quite the sinner~" A pink figure gracefully entered from the doorway. Her wooden geta made no sound as they touched the floor, not even stirring the dust.
The first to react was naturally Yoimiya, who had lived in Inazuma City for years. The moment she heard the voice, she knew who it was. She looked up, a look of disbelief on her face. "Lady… Yae Guuji!"
The pink-haired fox, now in human form, was not surprised by her panic. Instead, she said something completely out of place with the atmosphere. "Could one of you make me some fried tofu?"
