"Wah!"
That's the only thing I could say. The ground is white, trees are no longer green—what's left are some dark brown branches. Everything is white, blue, a bit brown, and purple.
It is a snowy day, here in MewMew Land!
I jump freely across the open land. The new shoes work like a wonder on my feet—black leather with red shoelaces. One of a kind. My lips stretch into a smile, expressing my gratitude towards the one who handed this to me as a gift.
My love, Sora...
Thinking about her makes my heart race. So did my feet—rushing towards a timber house just a few yards away from me. There's smoke coming from the chimney, which means only one thing...
"Welcome home, my bunny husband..."
I jump onto her immediately. I miss Sora so much! We twirl around, laughing and yelping together. I sweep away her bang, focusing on a pair of beautiful eyes. It was blue, with a streak of green and yellow in it. I know, this is just a feature—you can always have these eyes if you edit your profile, but they require you to pay for it. Yet, I look at Sora differently. All through those designated eyes of hers.
She is more than just a character in an MMORPG game. She is the love of my life.
Yes.
I am in an MMORPG world called the MewMew Land. Basically, this world is where you can meet people, play some games, cultivate, socialize... and if you're lucky enough, you can find your partner. Just like me and Sora. I've been in the MewMewLand for almost five years. This is my escape pod. Away from the real world, which I could only describe in one word: plain.
I lost my family when I was 12. As a male Omega, I can live on my own. But, as stated by the government's regulation, every Omega must attend a special school, or an academy—that's what they call—the one only for Omegas.
The Ou Academy.
The academy is the oldest in the Kwi Nation. It was established a hundred years ago, with the safety of Omegas as its main purpose. Kwi Nation was known to have a high rate of crimes involving the extortion and manipulation of Omegas by some irresponsible Alphas and Betas.
All for one good reason.
We, the Kwi Nation's Omega—no matter whether we're male, or female—were born with extraordinary looks and body proportions.
In simple words: we are the descendants of the angel.
Having a beautiful face is good. It's a privilege. People like you, adore you, and have a desire for you. But, we never know their intentions. Thus, the government tried its best to avoid more crimes against Omega. That's why, they isolate us; these apprentice Omegas, from the Alphas and Betas.
However, the ironic thing is the way they'll send us back to society, through a process of what we call The Graduation. It's not like the normal one when you retrieve your certificate, and maybe got nominated as a valedictorian or something. The Graduation means, it's time for the Omegas from Ou Academy to join and serve the family of the Alphas that have already bid you through the system.
Every year, the Ou Academy will announce a list of graduate with their details; pictures, and many more, on the school's website. And from there, the registered Alphas from across the nation will pick their respective Omegas, pay up some money, and pick them up on the Graduation day.
That's the ironic part. They keep you in this academy, just to be sent back to the jungle of the chaotic world out there.
And they said they want to protect us from exploitation.
Yeah, right!
That's why, I despise this sort of, kind of silly world. I feel unjust and exploited. It's not like we are tortured in the Ou Academy; I mean, everything is fine in here. The environment is great, the curriculum in a high level, and we have the best quality of lifestyle. But the result is not something that I yearn for.
I want freedom.
That's why I am here in MewMew Land, where I can live whatever I want; meeting new people, having a great time...
And finding my love.
"Did you miss me?" Sora asked, still enveloping me with his long hands.
"I miss you so much. These days were a torturous moment for me..."
"The Graduation, isn't it?"
I pull away from the embrace.
"Stop talking about that. I feel even more stressed!" I cried.
Sora smiles, as she puts her hands on my shoulder.
"I know how to make my bunny husband happy..."
Her eyes pierce deep inside me. I look away, feeling shy out of nowhere.
Sora flicks her finger. The room immediately turns into a jungle, with a waterfall as a background. I could hear nature, loud and clear.
"How did you do that?" I ask.
"Oh, I just updated my system. Now, I can quickly jump everywhere. All access."
"Perks of being a millionaire!" I push her shoulder away. "Show off!"
From my earpiece, I could hear his laughter. It was so close, as if Sora was breathing behind my ears.
"I'll figure things out for you later, so we can have the same feature," she said, placing her chin on my shoulder. We have already changed our outfits; I in my white shorts and white singlet, while Mister Sky wears her blue, skimpy bathing suits.
"Are you sure you wanna wear that, wifey?" I smack her forearm. Sora grunts from the pain and laughs.
"My Omega husband is jealous..."
"Of course I am! Humph!"
"No one is around, bunny. There's just us..."
"What if someone appears?"
"This waterfall belongs to us. Whoever wants access, has to ask for permission. I already locked it. Don't worry!"
Sora really sounds like the ruler of MewMew Land now!
I pouted a bit, before Sora pulled me back into his embrace.
"I belong only to you. So, don't worry..."
I choke a bit.
"I want to be yours. I mean, not just in MewMew Land..." My heart ached. "I wish you were my Alpha in real life too..."
The air went silent.
It's been three years since Sora and I got married in MewMew Land. The process is simple. You met your love interest, hit on them until they accept you as their partner, do all activities together until you get a certificate which later can be used as a wedding registration.
As for me and Sora, we have already spent more than a hundred thousand hours in MewMew Land, and more than half of it as husband and wife. We met each other five years ago, when I first joined MewMew Land. I was so bad at it, that he must feel pity for me.
So she lent a hand.
From there, we kept talking and slowly got to know each other. That's when I learn that she is an Alpha, but not from the Kwi Nation. She is a college senior and will conclude his studies by the end of this year, which means she's older than me. And Sora happened to know that I am an Omega from the Ou Academy. Yet, she didn't mind mingling with a male Omega like me.
Soon, we fell in love.
I could say, it's unconscious and I was a bit confused at first, because it's a situation that I've never been in before. However, gradually I missed Sora more than anything in this world when we were offline. I yearn for her presence, though only through his character and her voice.
Lucky for me, not long after that, she confessed to me, saying that she felt the same. Sora was so into me, that she even sent a VR device so we could access MewMew Land in the most optimized virtual experience. Everything feels so real after that; touching, feeling, and intimacy...
I swear to God, I might be dead if the Ou Academy finds out! Especially the intimacy part.
"Don't worry. You won't lose me. No one in this world will stop me from loving you. Even your future Alpha..."
"But, what if I get an orthodox Alpha? Like, the old one? Like grandpa's age?"
I heard Sora's chuckles ring through my ears.
"I don't think older Alpha wants someone obnoxious like you. They prefer someone who can take care of them. Your resilience score was average, too, the last time you told me. So, I think, they will avoid having an Omega like you. It feels like having another menace to be taking care of..."
"Did you just diss me, huh?" My eyes glare sharply at Sora. He laughs a bit, brushing his index finger against my pouty lips.
"I just want to calm my bunny husband..."
"Oh yeah? By dissing me?"
"Okay... sorry... come here, let me make it up to you..."
She pulls me into a huge hug. I stay silent in her embrace, enjoying the connection between us. Such a close-up feeling, so close that I feel her skin in my arms for real. I can even listen to her breath; so heavy, so deep. Tears somehow emerge from my eyes. I don't know why. I feel overwhelmed by all this.
"Are you crying, my bunny husband?"
"Nope! I am not!"
Sora pulls away a bit. She stares into my eyes, softly wipes away my tears. She smiles faintly, bobbing my red nose and I crinkle it. Then, she places her palm on my cheek, as she leans closer, planting her lips against mine. Sora is my first kiss, so she knows how to impress me with the gesture.
"I want you..." I told her right after he pulled away. "Is there anything you can do about it?"
There's a pause from his side. I could feel the reluctance. And maybe, the fear as well. My hands slip away from Sora's shoulder. Slowly, feet retreat from her, too.
"Bunny..."
"Sorry for asking that. I should have known better... there's no way you can sign up. You're just a college student from another nation. You can't afford the inter fee. And to ask your parents to sign up, I think it's too much..."
Sora grabs my hand. Her eyes glistened, as if she had a heavy feeling inside her. I can only flaunt a smile at her, being a good, understanding Omega husband.
"Sleep with me tonight. Don't log out. I want to treasure every second with you," there's a rattle in her voice.
Instead of getting upset, I feel somehow sad. And pity Sora for not being able to do anything about my position. Slowly, my feet move towards her, closing the gap between us and pulling her tight into my embrace.
With that, we both doze off. Hearts connect, even from far away.
That's how I love my aoi Sora...
