"How dare all of you gatekeep this from me? My grandcubs; all of them got captured and you chose to shut it off? Is that a stupid decision or what?"
Young turns around, revealing his stern expression. He stands up and walks towards the convoy. His charismatic feature shakes the room a bit, as he sits on the wooden chair, facing them in disappointment.
"Renyu, answer me."
"We're sorry Pa, but we dare not spill your precious blood over this—"
"Hmph... bullshit."
The house falls in silence.
Young gives a stressful glare at the abbot who already stands next to him.
"Old Grandpa Sarin shouldn't curse in front of the cubs. Besides, this is a holy space where you should watch where your tongue is going," the abbot reminds Young of the ground he stands on.
"Sorry for that, Por..."
"My enigmatic son-in-law never changed, even after a decade," Talay sighs. "If my son is still alive, you might end up sleeping in the chicken coop tonight."
"Shh... don't tarnish my reputation, Por! Now, my cubs will think that I'm a docile!"
"That's how you win over my son, right?"
The conversation between them is cute, simple, and nice to hear. Two powerhouses gather only to bash each other in the most hilarious way possible. The dynamic is crazy!
"Okay, back to business!" Young sneers after he loses his words over his father-in-law. Talay smiles politely before his eyes fall on the Sarin convoy in front of him.
"Sorry for summoning all of you here. But, we have a situation that perhaps only you can handle. Since mates are bound spiritually, only the three of you can detect their whereabouts. But, we do have a serious situation as this is more than just a missing case," says Talay.
"Mind you that I am objecting to this idea. That's why I am here," Young slips in his words.
"I don't get it, Pa..." Cabot tries to ask subtly.
"In the last battle, we lost a great number of family members. I lost my husband, Sora lost her mother, and some villagers lost their loved ones. I wasn't there to help. Even as an Enigma, I couldn't do anything to save my family," Young's eyes hooded in vain.
"Wait... has this have happened before?" asks Ezra. As a new member of the family, he dares to ask, because he is clueless about everything.
"Yes. Ten years ago, there was a battle between us and them," Talay replies. "That time, they managed to get Young. He was drugged by a mole—a villager who believed that if we submit an Enigma to the creature, we all would be saved. But, little that everyone expect, that made them even stronger."
"We managed to save Enigma Young, but that cost us so many lives. Sora's parent were killed when he tried to save ThongFa's mother. I lost my Golden Omega son—Enigma Young's husband in that very battle. Everyone was almost wiped out from the island," Talay recalls the bitter memory. The one who had been keeping away for almost a decade.
"Why did it take ten years to retaliate?" Ezra asks for more information.
"All this time, we had the Supreme Abbot to take care of the matter. He sealed away the creatures and caged them in the Dark Forest. But, a week ago, he passed away due to aging. He's 100 years old, so... it's understandable," Young replies.
"No one ever told me yet what kind of creature we are dealing with. Is it a spirit? A goblin? Forest's deity?"
"We call them The Bloodsucker," Renyu replies on behalf of the elder and the Enigma. "They feed up someone's desires. Like us; The Sarin, they have supernatural powers; unbeatable speed, mind controlling, not to mention their speciality—their venomous fangs. They will bite their enemies, suck all the desires out of the body. The more you keep, the more they get. The more evil you are, the better."
Ezra gulps, unable to stay still after learning that. He glances at Tul; the older Omega stays calm and composed, as if he already knew about it. Ezra's gaze now fell onto Caspian. The Omega turns pale and remains quiet.
"Everyone is aware of this? I mean, except for me, who else has no clue about it?" Ezra asks, looking for mental support.
"Cirrus had told me before. He even once brought me to meet the Supreme Abbot. As Elder Talay's disciple, Cir learns the sealing chant as well," Tul replies.
"I first learned about it a week before I got married to Pein. They brought me here to retrieve a sacred red thread for protection," it's Caspian turns to answer.
"Red thread? You mean, like this?" Ezra shows everyone the red thread on his wrist.
Elder Talay frowns. "How did you get that? You're not even marked by Fa, right?"
Ezra sighs as he looks around. Everyone is eager for an answer, but he feels reluctant—what if they don't believe in his story?
"Go on. In this state, there's nothing impossible, my cub..." Young encourages Ezra to speak up.
"Yesterday, Fa came to me and hand me this after the gear ceremony. It's around midnight. I thought, he just came back and went straight to meet me. When I got a phone call from Tul and turned back, he's not there anymore," Ezra explains to them.
"My cub, can you lend me your hand?" asks Talay. Ezra hesitant at first, but a simple nod from Young feels like an assurance from him to not worry. He sticks out his hand, and Talay grabs it softly. The elder closes his eyes and murmurs something. After a while, he opens his eyes and turns his head to Young.
"This Omega... he is a special cub. Born within a circle of the moon eclipse; the first day of lunar moon. He will illuminates the darkest sky ever," Talay then turns to him. "No wonder why you're destinies with ThongFa. You two form a brightest night ever, a power that can fight the evil."
