KAIDEN
My hand dropped from the woman, who blinked slowly at me in utter confusion. She wasn't Aria. No. Aria wasn't this old and certainly didn't have a round face. Nor dark brown eyes and thin lips.
Aria was overly pretty. I mean the prettiest girl I'd ever seen and known. But this lady in front of me wasn't her. In fact, she looked older. "I'm sorry," I murmured, offering a small smile.
"It's fine," she replied, beaming. I watched her walk away and almost immediately I heard Lyra's growl.
"Aria?!" She jumped in my line of vision. "What the hell, Kaiden?!"
I shut her out, focusing on my environment instead. People were slowly emerging from the great hall. Was the introduction done? I doubted it. Perhaps, they had come out to take a walk like me.
