Willow sank into the opposite couch, crossing her legs. "So? What am I doing here, Ezrik?"
He took a slow drag and blew out smoke, his eyes staying on her through the haze. "I heard about what the twins did to you today."
Her eyes widened. "You did?"
"Yes." He nodded. "That's why you were at the library. To warn them… and to it clear."
Willow raised a brow. "To make what clear? What are you talking about?"
Ezrik tilted his head, his eyes glinting as he blew out another lazy trail of smoke. "That you're my girlfriend, Willow Sterling."
Willow's heart jumped, disbelief twisting her features as her voice came out low. "What?"
Ezrik pulled the cigarette from his lips, watching her through the lazy curl of smoke.
"Don't look so shocked, sweetheart," he said, his tone infuriatingly casual. "I'm doing you a favor."
Her eyes widened. "By calling me your girlfriend? Are you insane?" She shot to her feet, anger burning under her skin.
