"Are you insane?" Reed snapped at Atlas, who was busy grinning at his own fingers as vivid sparks of electricity crackled between them. He glanced at the roasted Genesis Academy student on the ground and sighed. "We can't roast our protein bars. How does that even make sense?"
Atlas's smile evaporated. His eyes narrowed dangerously. "I just want to taste something new."
"Psycho," Reed muttered.
Above them, Evren sat on a thick tree branch, legs dangling lazily while he looked down at the two bickering idiots. "You're arguing," he scoffed, "while two more students are literally hunting us."
His ocean-blue eyes swept the mist-shrouded forest. He exhaled slowly, tension tightening his chest.
I hope Willow's okay…
A burst of orange light flared in the distance. Waves of fire rolling through the trees in a vicious dance. That had to be Mikey. The forest was burning in patches, and the air trembled with screeches, thunder, and distant screams.
Yeah. The bloodbath had already begun.
