Chapter 53 - Kingpin's Attempt

Bai Ye got out of Kingpin's convertible at night, looking at the gates of Mains Fitness Club, already anticipating tomorrow.

Filled with anticipation, Bai Ye and Camilla slowly walked towards the club's entrance.

With a soft click as the doors closed, Bai Ye put his right hand on Camilla's shoulder.

"What are you doing..." Beside him, Camilla seemed to realize something, and awkwardly placed her right hand on her left wrist.

"You didn't try to run away today, I'm very satisfied with your performance."

Bai Ye said as he pressed Camilla against the wall, gently lifting her chin, his eyes remaining calm. "So I hope you can make me even more satisfied next."

"You..." Camilla pressed her right hand against Bai Ye's solid chest, gently struggling.

But even with her extraordinary physical attributes, the strength she exerted now couldn't even push away an ordinary person.

"You can refuse, just like last night. The choice is yours," Bai Ye asked, grasping her right arm, which was as white as a lotus root.

As the words fell, Camilla's struggling gradually ceased. Bai Ye, understanding, chuckled softly and picked Camilla up, intending to carry her towards Camilla's bedding.

"Wait! I have something I want to ask of you," Camilla suddenly said, halfway there.

"Hmm? What is it that can't be said later?" Bai Ye asked, puzzled.

"It's just..." Camilla's face suddenly flushed, and she buried her head in Bai Ye's chest, asking, "Can I suck your blood while we're in the middle of it?"

Bai Ye: ...Isn't this a bit too perverted?

"Can I?" Camilla, who had an elegant, mature aura, suddenly asked pitifully, the contrast in her demeanor and tone extremely alluring.

But what awaited her was Bai Ye's calm refusal: "I refuse. The risk is too great. I don't want to accidentally become a vampire."

As his words fell, and under Camilla's disappointed gaze, Bai Ye flicked his right hand, unleashing his Internal Energy to switch off the lights in the room.

It was already late at night, but for Bai Ye and Camilla, with the lights out, the night had just begun.

Outside, after Kingpin had sent Bai Ye back to Mains Fitness Club to fulfill his wishes, he immediately had his driver take the convertible back to his villa.

On the way, being highly efficient, he took out his phone and made call after call, relaying all of Bai Ye's requests, demanding they be completed by eight o'clock the next morning.

Upon returning to his residence, Tombstone, Bullseye, Scorpion, and several Level 3 mutants hired with money were already waiting for him. These were the core members of his organization.

"Boss, what did you call us here for?" Tombstone asked first.

"I have a qigong technique here that I acquired from someone else. Study it carefully and try to cultivate it. It will greatly improve your strength. I'll reward the first person to develop Internal Energy with 500,000 dollars."

Kingpin said, then produced the skill manual he had copied from Bai Ye's phone earlier.

Qigong? His subordinates exchanged glances. Could this really exist?

Despite their doubts, they didn't voice them, immediately agreeing. They received the copies of the Purple Haze Divine Skill from Kingpin and began studying them under the dim light of the late night.

Watching them, Kingpin remained expressionless. As a boss, he naturally couldn't take risks himself. He should let his subordinates try out the good stuff first.

However, Tombstone and the others found the whole thing increasingly bizarre. Meridians, Dantian, and all that… if it was real, it should have been discovered long ago. Why only now? It didn't make sense.

Though they didn't believe it, they couldn't refuse their boss's orders. They decided to just go through the motions and get paid.

As Kingpin's elite, they had excellent memories. Two hours later, the first person finished reading the content. The others followed suit and began to cultivate.

With doubts lingering in their minds, thirty minutes passed slowly. A bald mutant felt a strange flow of energy within his body, and his heart was shocked. What the boss gave them was actually real!

Very quickly, after focusing his mind and slowly channeling his Internal Energy to his Dantian, the mutant stood up proudly and said, "Boss, I did it! There's now a wisp of Internal Energy in my Dantian."

"Oh, excellent." Kingpin, who was sitting on the sofa and waiting, his eyes lit up. Only thirty minutes had passed; this was quite the talent.

Tombstone, who was standing to the side, immediately stood up and looked at the bald mutant in shock, "You really cultivated Internal Energy?"

"Why would I lie to you?" The bald mutant nodded. "The secret manual the boss gave us really can cultivate Internal Energy."

Upon hearing this, the subordinates, including Tombstone, couldn't help but regret their actions. They hadn't actually prepared to cultivate; instead, they were all spacing out and going through the motions. They hadn't expected this greenhorn to achieve something, and now he'd gotten $500,000 for free.

Soon, encouraged by the first success, the others also became serious. Within a total of four hours, everyone had successfully cultivated a wisp of Internal Energy.

And Kingpin also discovered that compared to human experts like Bullseye, the mutants seemed to have a higher innate talent, averaging 40 minutes to cultivate a wisp of Internal Energy. Perhaps it was due to some sort of physical advantage.

Seeing that everyone had cultivated Internal Energy, Kingpin's lips curled up. "You've all done very well. Tombstone, now you should pass the Internal Energy in your body to Is."

"Huh? Boss, why? I only managed to cultivate two strands of Internal Energy. Is already has five." Tombstone said reluctantly.

And the Is that Tombstone mentioned was the mutant who first cultivated a single strand of Internal Energy.

Kingpin smiled slightly and told them Bai Ye's theory of Internal Energy flow. Soon, everyone on the scene became excited.

If it really worked, then as long as they had money, who would bother painstakingly cultivating Internal Energy? Each of them had hundreds or even thousands of underlings. They could completely have them cultivate and then harvest them regularly every month. Even spending money to buy it wouldn't be a problem.

Understanding this, Tombstone quickly lost his reluctance and immediately urged Is: "Hurry up and sit down. I'll transmit my Internal Energy to you. Don't just stand there."

Soon, following the steps of the transmission technique, Tombstone transmitted all two strands of his Internal Energy to Is without leaving anything behind. Then, he asked expectantly, "How is it? Did it work? You should have 1.6 strands of Internal Energy now."

"It did work, but the Internal Energy I converted and stored in my Dantian is only a weak single strand."

Is frowned and said, "It seems like the smallest unit of Internal Energy is a strand. Any smaller than that, and it won't stay in the meridians and will be lost."
