Chapter 64 - Phasing

"Mr. Bai, is this the ability you awakened?" Rogue asked in surprise, watching Bai Ye's right hand overlap with her clothes.

"I think so, wait here for me." Bai Ye said, a little excited. The next moment, not just his right hand, but his entire body disappeared from reality.

When Bai Ye's vision cleared, he found himself in a space of absolute darkness.

In this space, there was no light, no sound, not even air or gravity. It was like being in the silent vacuum of space. An ordinary person would die from internal organ explosions if they stayed there for long.

But for Bai Ye at this moment, it was no problem to endure this environment for more than ten minutes.

After some exploration in the dark, Bai Ye realized the size of this entire space was roughly a cube with a side length of 3 meters.

So, this is what Phasing means. Bai Ye looked at the nothingness before him and began to manipulate his ability.

Bai Ye introduced the light and air from the outside world into the previously isolated space. The next moment, the originally dark space immediately brightened up, gradually becoming suitable for human habitation.

And this also allowed Bai Ye to understand the Mutant ability he had awakened.

Simply put, he possessed a space that he could freely manipulate, and he could shift his body between the real world and a Phasing space at any time.

"Now that I have this ability, my survivability has increased greatly." Bai Ye surveyed the space in front of him.

As long as he hid within the space, Professor X's mental abilities wouldn't be able to affect him in theory, and he could also use it like a spatial ring.

After some experimentation, Bai Ye slowly emerged from the Phasing space. He wanted to greet Rogue, but the next moment, a pain shot through his back, and a long, narrow wound tore open his back.

Did the spatial ability go berserk and tear my body apart... Bai Ye speculated in his heart.

However, he wasn't worried. Compared to a wound of this degree, the burns from his usual electroshock training had even boiled his brain into liquid bubbles, but he still trained regardless, because raising his physique would solve the problem.

He casually greeted Rogue, "Let's go. Now we can meet Magneto and the others as Mutants."

Saying this, Bai Ye took Rogue's gloved right hand, opened the door, and walked out. He quickly found Magneto and the others discussing matters in the hall downstairs.

Seeing Bai Ye come down, the Brotherhood of Mutants members all looked over.

"How is it? Has your superpower awakened?" Magneto asked.

"Of course. It's not bad for me. Phasing, I should be considered a Level 3 Mutant, right?" Bai Ye assessed himself.

Then, in the gaze of several people, his figure passed through a chair and walked straight over.

Looking at Bai Ye's ability, the eyes of several Mutants immediately softened. Magneto said happily, "Welcome to the Brotherhood of Mutants. You are now one of us."

"Of course, as I said before, I will make Mutants completely integrate into human society." Bai Ye said, then, in the astonished gazes of the others, a wound tore from his forehead to his jaw.

"Are you alright?" Mystique stepped forward concernedly and helped Bai Ye, her attitude completely different from before.

"It's fine. This is the machine's flaw I mentioned earlier. My abilities are starting to go haywire, and I need some time to stabilize them," Bai Ye said, waving his hand dismissively.

As he spoke, the torn flesh on his face had already closed up on its own. If you didn't look closely, you wouldn't even notice the wound.

"It seems my plan needs to be changed," Magneto sighed in disappointment.

He had originally planned to use the machine to transform all the heads of state attending the global summit into Mutants. He hadn't expected the machine to have such a significant flaw.

If he truly wanted to kill people, controlling steel himself would be hundreds of times more efficient than that machine with its side effects.

"It doesn't matter. I've already promised to improve the living conditions of Mutants. You just need to be patient."

"But I think you also need to improve your strength," Bai Ye said, looking at Magneto. "How about this? Contact Kingpin and say it's at my suggestion. He'll understand what to do."

"Kingpin? That underworld emperor?" Magneto looked at Bai Ye in surprise, not expecting to have connections with Kingpin.

"Yes. Your physical fitness isn't different from that of a normal person. You can even be broken through by a pistol. Go find Kingpin and have him help you level up," Bai Ye said seriously.

In X-Men 3, as a Level 4 Mutant, Magneto could move the Golden Gate Bridge, which weighed hundreds of thousands of tons. However, he was easily defeated and reverted to a normal human by a syringe due to his poor physical condition. The disparity in combat effectiveness was ridiculous.

Since they were now allies, Bai Ye planned to send him to Kingpin for further training, perhaps to acquire a century's worth of inner energy.

Then, during battle, he could create a Three-Foot Qi Wall like the Sweeping Monk to prevent sneak attacks; otherwise, his weaknesses would be too obvious.

Bai Ye didn't know how Kingpin's internal energy cultivation was progressing, but seven days had already passed. Given Kingpin's efficiency, Bai Ye had no doubt he would have accumulated one or two centuries' worth of inner energy.

Having just joined the Brotherhood of Mutants, Bai Ye was already assigning them tasks as if he owned the place. Magneto didn't mind at all; in fact, he welcomed it.

As long as it could improve the living conditions of Mutants, what did it matter if Bai Ye was the leader? If he was after a life of luxury, he had plenty of options and wouldn't have to work hard every day.

"What are you planning to do next?" Magneto asked.

"Of course, I'm going back to my factory to continue preparing for the rise of Mutants," Bai Ye chuckled. "You just need to patiently endure for a year or two, until I've fully matured."

"I don't want the human government to know about me being a Mutant, to avoid any unnecessary trouble." Bai Ye scanned the group, then turned to Rogue beside him. "Let's go. Come with me, and we'll head to my place."

"Okay." Rogue nodded. The next moment, Bai Ye had stored her within his Phasing space.

"This meeting was very pleasant. Contact me if you need anything. I'll be taking my leave now." Bai Ye said his goodbyes, then, after creating some distance, he leaped.

Boom! A massive wave of air surged upwards, causing the others to stumble back and squint. They looked up to see a two-meter-wide crater where Bai Ye had been standing. A large hole had also been punched through the ceiling, allowing warm sunlight to pour in.

Bai Ye, having already stored the car he'd driven on the island into his Phasing space, began sprinting across the water's surface, relying on his incredible physical abilities.
