Chapter 5 - Adventure Preparation, Half-Elf Poster Girl

He successfully joined the Hestia Familia, received the blessing of a god, and acquired the core ability of a Healer: 'Recovery' magic.

What were his plans next?

Keare hadn't really thought it through. Before transmigrating, he had been a corporate drone for so many years that enjoying life was basically irrelevant to ordinary people.

Coming to another world disrupted all his plans.

In a short time, he felt a sense of belonging that was out of place. This wasn't the dark, oppressive world view of the Legendary Hero's original work.

Although it wasn't much better...

There was no reason to come to Dungeon or Familia and inexplicably make a beautiful girl choose the Legendary Hero!

"After becoming an Adventurer, what is my goal?"

Keare put on his white shirt, and as his gaze swept over the dilapidated church basement, practical problems followed one after another.

Coming to Dungeon or Familia, he didn't even have a place to live!

He certainly had no objection to squeezing in here with Hestia, but he didn't know if this virgin goddess, who had never been involved with a man, would agree to such an excessive request?

Keare looked at Hestia, who was putting on her slippers and preparing to go out, admitting that being in a tight financial spot was nothing to be ashamed of!

"Lady Hestia."

"What is it?"

Hestia looked up, her smile gentle: "I'm going to the Adventurer's Guild now to register your information with the Familia. Do you want to come with me to look around?"

"I just wanted to ask if there's a way to earn money quickly."

"Are you very short on money right now?"

Actually, making money was very simple, but Hestia was debating whether or not to tell Keare.

Using 'Recovery' magic to heal illnesses would definitely earn a lot of valis.

However, this would expose the special nature of Keare's magic, and the risk would be very high before her Familia had developed.

Dungeon exploration?

Even if the upper levels weren't very dangerous, many new Adventurers didn't return safely.

"Yes, I'm quite short on money."

Keare nodded seriously, answering truthfully: "I just arrived in Orario and haven't even found a place to live yet."

"Actually..."

"Keare, it's not impossible for you to live here, but..."

Hestia's smile was cunning. After a brief pause, she worried about hurting the young man's pride, so she put her hands on her hips and said cheerfully: "Don't feel any psychological burden!"

"As rent, the glory of the Hestia Familia spreading throughout Orario is up to you." Even if it couldn't, it didn't matter.

She didn't say the last part of the sentence.

"...Wouldn't this be a bit too much?"

Before his own strength had fully grown, Keare felt it was very necessary to ensure the privacy of his 'Recovery' magic.

In other words.

That meant developing steadily, ideally being inconspicuous.

Worried about putting too much pressure on Keare, Hestia actively took the young man's hand: "Actually, no matter what the future holds."

"I will work hard with you."

She wanted to say, "You can rely on a god," but when she considered the current plight of her Familia, she ultimately chose to remain silent.

---

A place to live was settled. Next was to improve his dire financial situation, at least ensuring food and clothing.

Earning money.

To earn valis in Dungeon or Familia, besides working, the fastest way was to explore the Dungeon below Babel Tower.

Killing monsters and trading the dropped magic stones and materials to the Guild.

Rather than an identity, being an Adventurer was more of a way of life, at least for the lower-class Adventurers in Orario.

"Strive to develop the derivative skills of 'Recovery' as soon as possible, to avoid being limited by a support role."

"At least gain some strength... In Orario, that's also a kind of voice, isn't it?"

He quickly set his short-term goals, focusing on Dungeon exploration, improving strength, and earning money to improve his life.

As for anything else?

Keare wasn't thinking that far ahead. After leaving the abandoned church, he followed Hestia to the Adventurer's Guild in Orario.

Deciding that his next goal was Dungeon exploration, gathering information became especially important.

He looked at the sacred and solemn Pantheon before him, built with white pillars as a framework, adorned with ornate carved stone bricks.

The Guild headquarters.

A place he would frequently interact with after becoming an Adventurer.

"This is the Adventurer's Guild."

"I'll take you to fill in your Adventurer information first, and then I have some other matters to handle. If you want to explore the Dungeon."

"It's best to ask a Guild staff member in advance."

As Hestia said this, taking advantage of no one being around, she slipped the valis she had prepared into Keare's palm.

To be able to recruit such a talented child into her Familia.

As a god, she only felt the burden on her shoulders was heavy. She had to provide Keare with a sufficient environment to grow. If she couldn't do it herself?

Then she could only ask others for help.

"This is..."

Keare felt the heavy weight of the coins in his palm. Even if Hestia's attitude was nonchalant, considering her financial situation.

He quickly realized.

This might be Hestia's last savings, and she was entrusting it to him so readily?

Keare firmly etched this trust deep in his heart, with no thought of refusing. He would just consider it money borrowed in advance.

"Thank you, Lady Hestia."

Registering his Familia information and Adventurer identity went quite smoothly.

Once these matters were handled, Hestia left the Guild headquarters first, leaving only Keare there.

He surveyed his surroundings, finally focusing his gaze on the counter in the central area.

Shoulder-length brown hair, a dignified and beautiful face paired with round-rimmed glasses, adding a touch of elegance to the girl's lovely features.

Eina Tulle.

Reliable and serious in her work, with a sweet appearance and good figure, she was the most popular receptionist at the Adventurer's Guild.

His goal was to ask a Guild staff member for information.

Since he had to ask someone anyway, Keare felt it was better to find the one who had left a deep impression on him in the anime from his previous life and was known for her reliable work style!

"You're the one."

"..."

It wasn't yet the peak time for Adventurers leaving the Dungeon, so her work was relatively leisurely. Noticing an Adventurer approaching.

Eina pushed up her glasses with a white-gloved hand, her smile confident and gentle.

"How may I help you?"

"I'd like to inquire about monster information on the upper levels." Keare stood at the counter, looking at the half-elf lady with a serious attitude.

After receiving a god's blessing and becoming an Adventurer, one's physical abilities would improve overall.

But this wasn't a game after all.

In games, one could revive indefinitely, but if one suffered a severe blow from a monster in reality, there was a high probability of no chance for a life remake.

He would rather spend money to buy information than risk an accident!

Keare added, "I hope it can be detailed."

"That's within my scope of work."

Looking at the young man with similar brown hair standing before her, Eina had a strong impression of him, after all, he had come with Lady Hestia.

Recalling what had happened at the Adventurer's Guild a while ago.

She couldn't help but feel curious about Keare. After clearly understanding the specific matters he needed to inquire about, the girl's lips curved into a beautiful smile:

"My name is Eina Tulle. How should I address you?"
