The air in the chamber carried the tension of their meeting but the mystery still lingered-waiting to be uncovered.
Sana: So...did you two find something ?
Mahnstin: Nothing more than that mural on the wall.
He pointed towards the way to the mural.
Sana: Let's head there then.
The three of them moved towards the wall.As soon as they drew close,a new figure appeared on the mural-faintly glowing.
Sana: So it recognises us.
She glanced over it top to bottom,narrowing her eyes.
Sana: That's the being we serve now, huh ?Looks...creepy.
Foxen: Even you are creeped out by something.Wow!
Mahnstin felt an odd sense of relief hearing Foxen speak more like his old self.
Sana: Ah you are the one to talk-someone who destroyed a planet and then kept an eye from a creepy globe just because it made you feel seen.
Foxen: So what if I did ?
Sana: Nothing 'Mr.Notice me'.Let's see if we can find something else.Mahnstin can't you sense anything beyond this ?
Mahnstin: No, my vision gets blocked by this wall.Also...it feels like a dead end.
Sana: Oh,don't worry.We have got the manipulator here.
Foxen: I can't see through walls,for your information,Miss healer.
Sana: Dumbo.I am not asking you to see through-just do what you did to explode those walls earlier.
Foxen: Ah understood. By the way,you could stick to the wall.I'd love to explode you with it.
Sana: Mr.Blue berry just because you made bombs on your planet doesn't mean you have to turn everything into one.Just surge your CE in it-You can see the memories and such,right ?
Foxen pressed his palm to the mural and flowed his CE in it. Veins rose on his arms,glowing green-blue as the CE surged.The force within the mural tried to push back his arm.
Memories flooded his mind.Battles,trials,endless sufferings.The deaths of the wielders-long gone.It was too much-too fast.Foxen staggered back.
Mahnstin: What's wrong ?
Sana: Such a weak guy.
Foxen: The memories...there are so many of them-mixed,I can't hold on properly to a single. Check for yourself before calling me weak,you damn herbal tea.
Sana: Bring it then.
Foxen: Can I have the permission to touch your forehead ?
Sana: Granted.But not for long.
Foxen placed one hand on Mahnstin's shoulder and the other on Sana's forehead.
The memories spilled into them.
Mahnstin clenched his teeth, fighting through the onslaught. Sana collapsed instantly,crumpling to the floor under the weight of misery and death.
Mahnstin: Alright.....you can stop now.I can't take more.
Foxen took away his arm.
Sana stood up composing herself.
Sana: The hell was that ?
Foxen: Just a fraction of what I saw.
Sana: Ohk,you....win this one.
Mahnstin: Those tests weren't just questions.They were brutal.
Sana: You are right.I can't imagine Spiracle doing that kind of things.
Foxen,: Spiracle ? The trivia lady ?
Sana: Yes,don't you even know her name ?
Mahnstin: How could she do those things,she seemed like a good lady.
Sana: Oh good lady,huh ? You have something for her ?
Foxen: He is a family man.
Mahnstin: Right.....I miss my daughter and wife.
Foxen: Not your son ?
Mahnstin: Him too but... I know he will be doing fine.He is a strong boy.
Sana: I'm sorry Mahnstin.I wasn't aware of it.
Mahnstin: Oh no worries.
Sana: By the way I passed the test in first go you know,Foxen.
Foxen and Mahnstin exchanged a glance and shared a short laugh.
Foxen: Well, we did too.
Sana: Wow an idiot like you passed too ? Also I heard both of you rejected the powers.
Mahnstin: Wait..so you didn't ?
Sana: No,why would I reject such a great offer.
Foxen: Huh so you used to the privileges ?
Sana: No,I just wanted to leave my planet.
Foxen: Which planet ?
Sana: Yudhit...
The word dropped like a stone.Foxen and Mahnstin looked at each other in shock.Yudhit wasn't any regular planet.
Foxen: You mean that Yudhit ? The one where only seven people were left after the internal conflict ?
Sana: Well..only 6 are left now.
Silence filled the chamber.
Until Mahnstin's eyes widened seeing the cracks on mural.
Mahnstin: Both of you-Move! The wall is going to collapse!
Foxen and Sana turned,sprinting away. The wall gave away with a thunderous crash,revealing a new room.
A new mystery.
