Chapter 23 - AMBUSH

Akirion and Thaneiros got their sacks full and they found their way back home. Meanwhile, the blood thirsty humans managed to reach Thaneiros' mansion first.

' Hahaha, now, I'll get my ultimate weapon.( The hired killer looked at the blabbering Haruto.) Not you, my new one, you'll be old, and I mean the new.'

Kragg looked down with disappointment, but also happy for the mission.

KRAGG:

He was a martial artist who was well trained from the west and he also trained swordsmanship. He was recruited by a group of assassins in the West, where he trained. But after sometime, with the fear of killing a cockroach, he was fired while he showed potential. But according to how scared to kill he was, the company didn't find any option but to fire him because they were running a loss of paying someone who doesn't do the job.

Kragg was heart broken and lucky for him, his broken heart became one when he was recruited in the eastern lands for the same type of work that he had previously.

The company was doing some underground fights for training, it was a blood for blood fight, and that's where Kragg learnt how to use his skills that he trained hard for. He won a lot of fights and lost a few of them. Lucky for him, he didn't lose his life during his defeat, he only had some broken bones.

He gained a little status of his and he became a well trained assassin, who didn't leave his target breathing. He completed all the given mission and he was well known for his skills. But one day, he thought of quitting his job and that's when he landed in Elysia. And before Haruto hired him, he was doing some underground fights for a living. So through Haruto, he thought of having a family and settling down after he completed the mission. And now, he was heading for that mission.

GIDEON:

Gideon was a very well known warrior in the Empire's army, he was strong, blood thirsty and he did more scary things. When the Empire wanted to attack Elysia, he quit his wonderful job. Why? It's all because he had loved ones in Elysia. During the big war, he thought Of helping Elysia in order to protect his loved ones but he thought of what was the Empire's army commander going to say, including his former comrades. He reduced his blood thirstiness and laid low. When he heard that Elysia was losing, he thought of helping, his thirstiness increased, but in second thoughts , he stopped himself. He was happy when he heard that Elysia was victorious and he stayed with his loved ones and gave up on the job. When time went by, his thirstiness increased, that time he didn't control it, other ways, it controlled him, he found some underground fights and happily joined. So agreeing to Ryder's offer, it was party of the thirstiness. In the following weeks, he was going to fight with Kragg the great. By not knowing what the future holds, he didn't know how the mission will progress and get the money then win against Kragg the great.

Present:

The blood thirsty humans started to search the house.

Before Akirion and Thaneiros reached home;

' There's something wrong somewhere'.

' Yes you are right Akie, it feels off for some reason.' Thaneiros replied Akirion with the same feeling like Akirion's.

' My blood is racing, I don't know why, it's giving me chills up my spine, feels like there's something around here, but we are almost home, what is it?'

' Maybe we are being followed. Akie! Stay alert, we don't know what's coming.' Thaneiros said, while his eyes racing around the place but he saw nothing, and it was the same for Akirion too.

They walked to the gate…

' Sir? (Whispering)It looks like there's nothing around here, nobody is here Sir..' a soldier said.

'The what? It can't be, this is that guy's house, he should be here somewhe...'

Haruto replied angrily but he was cut off by Kragg.

'shhhhhhh.' Kragg warned the others without a hush hush sound and showed them with signs that someone was coming.

By that time, Gideon wasn't spotted, the dark swallowed him and he was no where to be seen.

When Thaneiros reached the gate, he didn't see any wagon, but he had that chilly scary feeling on him and Akirion. They started whispering to each other , not to ring up the bells. They hid, looking for the attacker.

'Someone is here, I can sense it, what's going on?'

' it's an ambush!' Thaneiros scarily mentioned a word that wasn't expected by Akirion's ears. Akirion gasped, remembering what his Master told him, and his master's words during the day.

'What did we do.' Akirion, questioned, with a scared voice.

' Mostly, they are after you, (Akirion gasped and almost fainted for a second, the atmosphere itself was a battle field for them. And it was hard to live in, I can't say about Akirion because he was hardly breathing, almost lost it but he forced himself to keep his cool. Thaneiros added saying;) you need to use that brain of yours dapperly.'

' {Here we go again with his riddles, how am I supposed to know what he's talking about. This is not the time to ask, I should be calm in making this decision.}' Akirion silently said.

Akirion saw that it was going to be better to keep his cool, and never use magic in order for them to think that they've attacked the wrong place. Suddenly, an enormous energy was sensed from the nearest trees, Akirion's eyes widened with surprise and Thaneiros showed that he sensed it but he was calm. He pushed Akirion into the nearest woods, and Akirion was sent flying but he didn't mind being pushed like a toy, he managed his landing and was happy for that.

, Thaneiros' words rang in Akirion's small head, and he thought of using his mind just like what Thaneiros said. On the other side, the tree's enormous energy turned into a human. He jumped to attack Thaneiros but Thaneiros dodged the attack into the small thin dark air.

' Wait, the what, what's going on here? These people are good at disappearing, a while ago, I'm sure that I saw a kid but I blinked at that moment and the kid was nowhere to be found, now, the old man, my money, he disappeared in this sm ...?' the attacker stopped talking and he opened his eyes wide open.

' Thank God I kept my sword at the gate.'
