Chapter 1 - The Fool Is Not a Fool

"Shadaichuan, be gentle."

It was midday in summer, and the sun was scorching the earth. The air was filled with a stifling heat, and even the large willow trees by the roadside were wilting in the heat.

In the house of the widow Wu at the village entrance of Xiushān Village, the big fool Zhang Dachuan was sitting on the bed, vigorously massaging her.

At that moment, the village's most beautiful widow was lying face-down on the large bed, with the summer quilt half-covered over her waist, unable to hide her voluptuous figure.

When she first married into the village, people often whispered among themselves that her voluptuous figure would surely produce a healthy, robust son.

But good fortune was short-lived; shortly after their marriage, her husband died from drinking too much.

"Dumb Zhang Dachuan, you've massaged my shoulders well; now massage my waist."

"Remember to be gentle, you fool. You have to be gentle with women, you know?"

At that moment, Wu's widow said with a look of enjoyment on her rosy face.

Zhang Dachuan was known throughout the village as a fool. Since her husband died three years ago, Wu's widow had set her sights on Zhang Dachuan as a laborer.

She often tricked Zhang Dachuan into coming to her house to do manual labor like carrying water and moving furniture. Lately, she had even started using him as a free masseur.

Wu the Widow didn't notice that the fool she saw before her now had a mischievous smile on his lips.

In fact, when he woke up this morning, Zhang Dacuan discovered that he was no longer a fool.

Not only that, but last night in his dream, a fox spirit beauty dressed in revealing, extremely seductive attire told him that as a descendant of the Celestial Fox Clan, he had inherited the Nine Heavens Fox Spirit Legacy—a Yin-Yang Chaos Jade Disk. However, no matter how hard he tried in his dream, he could not open the jade disk.

The fox spirit beauty told him that the current inheritance could only temporarily transform him from a fool into a normal person.

To obtain the true inheritance, he needed a woman's assistance.

That was why, when Mrs. Wu called him over to help with the work today, he continued to pretend to be a fool and worked all morning.

At that moment, he was hesitating whether to ask Mrs. Wu for help to repay the wages she had paid him for his previous work.

Wu, the widow, who was enjoying the massage, felt Zhang Dachuan's strong presence, causing ripples in her heart.

Since her husband's death, she had not been with a man for far too long.

At just twenty-nine years old, there were many nights when she lay awake, unable to sleep...

Thinking of this, an idea came to her mind.

Zhang Dacuan was known as a fool by everyone in the village, so even if something were to happen between them, no one in the village would ever find out.

More importantly, Zhang Dacuan worked in the fields all day, and his muscles, developed through years of labor, had a healthy bronze hue.

As she thought about it, Wu Guifu couldn't help but feel a thrill.

She glanced back at Zhang Dacuan, who was massaging her with all his strength, bit her red lips, and felt even more certain that this idea was feasible.

As if it were too hot, she naturally lifted the summer blanket, revealing her two long, fair legs, and then looked at Zhang Dacuan and said:

"Foolish Dacuan, my legs are a bit sore. Could you massage them for me?"

Upon hearing this, Zhang Dachuan couldn't help but stare wide-eyed at the scene before him. Originally, Wu's widow's summer quilt had covered most of her body, but now, it only covered a corner of her body.

Just then, footsteps suddenly sounded at the door, followed by a harsh voice:

"Runyuan, are you home? Open the door."

Wu Runyuan was the widow's real name.

Zhang Dachuan recognized the voice immediately. It belonged to Wang Tiebiao, a notorious bully in the surrounding villages. He was tall and muscular, and it was said that he had served time in prison for fighting. Even in the county seat, he had a reputation for being a troublemaker.

No one dared to provoke Wang Tiebiao in the entire village of Xiushang.

Upon hearing Wang Tiebiao's voice, Mrs. Wu's face changed drastically, and she hurriedly looked at Zhang Dacuan and said:

"Quick, find a place to hide."

Wang Tiebiao had been close friends with her husband in the past. Since her husband's death, he had been harassing her from time to time, and recently his advances had intensified. If he saw her with the mentally challenged Zhang Dacuan, there would be no way to explain it.

More importantly, given Wang Tiebiao's temperament, the mentally challenged man would certainly be beaten severely.

Upon hearing what the widow said, Zhang Dacuan immediately crawled under the blanket and hid.

Seeing this, the widow was stunned.

This fool, why is he hiding under the blanket?

What if Wang Tiebiao sees him?

But at this moment, she couldn't think about that anymore, so she pretended to be weak and said in a low voice:

"It's Brother Biao, what do you need?"

Upon hearing this, Wang Tiebiao immediately said:

"Runyuan, open the door first, I'll come in and talk."

Feeling Zhang Dacuan under the blanket, Wu the Widow knew she absolutely couldn't open the door, so she immediately replied:

"Brother Biao, I'm already taking a nap. It's inconvenient for me to open the door. Let's talk about it tomorrow."

Under the blankets, Zhang Dacuan stared wide-eyed at the scene before him, breathing heavily, feeling as though he might start nosebleeding.

Thinking about how Wu the Widow had made him do so much work without giving him anything in return,

He felt a bit annoyed. Since that was the case, he might as well satisfy his urges and consider it payment for his labor.

Wu, the widow, who was talking to Wang Tiebiao, froze.

  She said angrily,

"Shu Dachuan, what are you doing?"

Hearing her voice, Wang Tiebiao outside the door hurriedly asked,

"Runyuan's wife, what did you just say?"

Upon hearing this, Mrs. Wu hurriedly replied:

"Nothing, nothing."

Outside the door, Wang Tiebiao heard Mrs. Wu's voice and was so aroused that he scratched his head and pulled at his beard. He had been pursuing Mrs. Wu for nearly two months but had yet to see any results.

But judging from Wu's voice today, it seemed like there might be a chance.

At that moment, Wu seemed to think of something and hurriedly explained to Wang Tiebiao:

"Brother Biao, my sister-in-law has a high fever today and just took some medicine to bring it down. I can't talk to you right now."

"Come back another day, and I'll treat you well then."

Upon hearing this, Wang Tiebiao perked up:

"Sister-in-law Ruyuan, why don't you tell me how you plan to entertain me?"

Seeing this, the widow Wu could only try to calm him down:

"Brother Biao, I know your intentions."

"How about this? Come see me again after you're better, and I promise you..."

Upon hearing Wu's promise, Wang Tiebiao outside the door finally nodded excitedly and replied:

"Alright, Sister-in-law, take care of yourself. I'll leave now."

"I'll come see you again in a couple of days."

Under the covers, Zhang Dacuan listened to Wu's widow and Wang Tiebiao outside whispering and flirting, unable to suppress his burning jealousy.

He had done so much manual labor for Wu's widow and received nothing in return.

Even before Wang Tiebiao, there had been rumors in the village about Wu the Widow and the village chief. Privately, the villagers said that Wu the Widow only cared about money.

If Wang Tiebiao and the village chief could do it, why couldn't he?
