Chapter 6 - It's here!

I'm woken up by the sun peering gently through the windows of my new apartment, basking the homely living space in a warm glow.

"Time to rise and grind!" I shoot up, my mind racing with excitement.

Today I should awaken! Which means I'll be able to register with the Awakened Association and start the real grind, not just the idle one!

I take a glance at the timer, and decide to spend the remaining hours stocking my new home with food as well as decorating it a little to my liking.

Taking a look at my newly acquired bank account, I find the monthly stipend has already been deposited, a beautiful green "+2000.00$" shining on my phone screen.

"Let's see, I should buy groceries, some clothes I like, some decorations, and then set the rest aside to save up for a decent computer. Oh, and I should set aside some money for takeout, and a weapon."

Deciding my budget for the month, I head out of the apartment and find my way to the nearest bus stop, paying a small fee as I board, and paying attention to my phone for directions.

Eventually I find myself at a grocery store, where I pick out some ingredients, some drinks, snacks, and some cheap but stylish clothes.

I also grab some protein bars, some salty crackers, some canned meat, and a sturdy backpack for when I enter gates. Provisions and keeping my energy up will definitely be important.

Taking a look at everything in my cart, I decide to hold off on home decor for now, and head to the hygiene section to pick up some hair and body products I like the scent of, as well as a cologne I felt matches my personality well.

I make my way to check out, purchase all my items, and head back to my apartment using the same bus route I took to get here.

I put my groceries away, pack the gate supplies into the backpack, and put the hygiene products in the restroom, before heading to the kitchen to make some bacon and eggs for lunch.

As I cook, I check my stats and notice my stamina has risen by another point.

'I'll assign the resources into strength and agility equally, I want to keep well rounded stats for now, I can decide on a specialization when I get my class and figure out what stats I'll need to focus on most.'

After eating, I began browsing my phone and pricing PC parts. I spend the afternoon window shopping and exploring the different computer part stores and looking into different games of this world.

Eventually, I feel a wave of energy shoot through my body, my vision sharpening and my body suddenly feeling lighter.

'It's here!'

Shooting up from my relaxed position on the couch, I open up my status window, excited to find what class awaits me.

[Name: Buford Presley]

[Race: Human]

[Level: 1]

[HP: 2600]

[XP: 200/1000]

[Age: 15]

[Class: Gamer(F-Tier)] [-] [+]

[System: Idle Game System]

[Stamina: 7] [-] [+]

[Agility: 6] [-] [+]

[Strength: 6] [-] [+]

[Intelligence: 10] [-] [+]

[Wisdom: 10] [-] [+]

[Energy: 2600/2600]

[Mana: 4000/4000]

'A F-Tier class, huh. I can still allocate resources to it, so I can probably upgrade it to higher tiers, but I don't know what a class called "Gamer" would evolve into after upgrading. Maybe it'd stay the same? That aside, it seems my stats went through a qualitative upgrade after awakening, my resources have doubled, and I feel stronger and faster than I was before.'

'My thoughts on that aside, let me take a look at the class description.'

[Class: Gamer]

[The Gamer raises his middle finger at falling under one class archetype, being able to learn spells and abilities from any class through the use of skill books. At the class' current tier, the Gamer may only learn skills of F-Tier.]

[Active Abilities]

[Sprint (F): The Gamer knows when a strategic exit is necessary, and this skill aids in just that, doubling the Gamer's speed for 5 seconds.] [-] [+]

[Mana Imbuement(F): The Gamer can imbue his mana into his body to strengthen and reinforce himself for attacking and defending.] [-] [+]

[Meditate (F): The Gamer can enter a state of meditation, increasing mana regeneration by 10%] [-] [+]

[Passive Abilities]

[Well Fed (F): When the Gamer is not in combat, so long as he has eaten recently, he will passively regenerate HP at a rate of 1% of his maximum health per 10 seconds.] [-] [+]

[Gamer's Constitution(???): The Gamer has a unique constitution. In games, the player doesn't lose body parts or lose function of his arms when they've been stabbed, the same is the case with the Gamer, his body functions like it would in a game. When hit, HP is lost, but the body can continue functioning properly as long as 1 HP remains. If the Gamer loses his head or his heart is pierced without any special circumstances or skills for protection, it will be a critical strike and the Gamer will die. An additional benefit of the Gamer's constitution is the ability to efficiently convert nutrient and calories into energy, leaving the Gamer no need to worry about over-consumption of Ch*etos, Mnt D*w, or Dorit*s]

[Gamer's Cognition(D): The Gamer's vast experience with games allows him to think more efficiently, learn more quickly, and synergizes with Gamer's Constitution to allow his body to keep up with his mind's pace.] [-] [+]

"Holy shit..."

'I was low-key a little disappointed when I saw the F-Tier ranking, but this is actually really strong as-is, and has incredible potential combined with my System.'

Glancing over my status window and abilities again, I allocate half of my resources into wisdom and the other half into intelligence, and decide on quite possibly one of the least gamer-like routes I could go with.
