Chapter 5 - Relaxing office

As he came to his desk, Nifuji started another day by checking his emails, replying to all of them, checking his schedule for meetings, and doing everything else.

If he had to say, the work of the salaryman was dull, but without a doubt, it was far better than that of the programmer, who often had to be stressed and dealt with fixing the systems, whose hair turned thin or bald as they had to work for nine to nine or more for six days a week.

At least, he could be mobile and had no need to stay at the office all the time.

"Good morning."

"Good morning."

Except for that, he answered the greetings of his coworkers and also greeted his superior. Nothing particularly exciting, everything was the same as ever.

He also didn't intend to talk more than needed since the relationship in the office should have been limited to the office. He also didn't want to say this, but most of the time, the people were suck since when they gathered, they would just talk about people and release their frustration over the drink and gathering after they finished.

Frankly, he didn't have the energy for that, since most of the time, he would be the one who listened to their complaints. However, despite being troublesome, it was also necessary, as their talks provided him with valuable information about many people, including troublesome superiors and clients.

At the same time, the culture of working in this country was different.

In most cases, working for the company was just a way to live, or being an employee was just a way to live. When it was time to go home, one should go home, and when it was the work of others, it was the work of others instead of being troubled by others.

However, in this country, an employee is usually hired for a lifetime, and they probably wouldn't be fired even if they had made mistakes.

Instead of a place to work, a company in this country was seen as a small country, where, whether one wished it or not, they had to interact with others, unless one was the owner.

At the same time, the power of an individual was limited, and because of that, teamwork was needed.

Unfortunately, some people were simply too useless and a burden, but fortunately, he was in the sales department, where individualism was valued more than teamwork.

After all, for sales, the more one sold, the better they were, right?

Still, due to his situation and age, having worked at this company for almost half a decade, even if he were to transfer to the sales department, he would still have his own team and manage them.

Yes, even if he didn't have any experience, making him helpless at first, but as he was willing to work hard, it was also a good distraction, considering how he had been worried about many things, especially when he transmigrated into a new identity.

Nevertheless, as he checked his email, schedule, and sent plans to all his team, the aroma of bitter coffee entered his nose, mixed with a familiar womanly scent.

"Boss, here is your coffee."

"How many times have I told you to call me Senpai instead of a boss, but thank you, Eri."

His voice seemed so helpless as he accepted the coffee, but at the same time, he couldn't help but look at his team, Eri, a beautiful woman with long, wavy brown hair and hazel eyes.

Her figure was slim, curvy, and filled with the womanly charm of a 22-year-old woman.

Among everyone, she was the youngest and the new employee of the company.

Still, he wondered why he was the one who took care of her, even though there were many others who would work better.

"But everyone said that you would be promoted soon."

"It's just talk. Don't listen to them. Instead of talking about that, have you finished making the schedule for this week?"

Would he be promoted?

He didn't know, but if he showed an interest, he felt that the chance would disappear, so it was better for him to remain quiet.

"Ah, yes, I have just finished it. I will send it to your email soon, Senpai. Please tell me if I need to change something."

"Thank you, Eri."

"No problem." Eri smiled softly before she returned to her seat, as she glanced at him secretly.

Sipping the bitter coffee that was made by a beautiful junior, Nifuji quickly felt refreshed and energized, and at the same time, it surprised him that his junior could also trigger his system, but having a coworker as a sugar baby was quite troublesome, he thought.

Still, as Eri saw him, drinking the coffee blankly, she couldn't help but say, "...no matter how many times I saw it, I even wondered whether it tasted good."

While it was great that he enjoyed her coffee, as the one who made it, Eri felt complicated since, instead of an authentic coffee, which was created carefully, or a coffee machine, it felt like she just made muddy water as she only poured a lot of hot water on the mug filled with coffee powder.

In the cafe, the barista had to watch over the weight, the bloom of the coffee, and even gently pour over the hot water, but in his request, the method was so rough that she just mixed the coffee with a spoon.

"What I need is the bitterness and the caffeine to wake up, and frankly, once you're used to it, the taste isn't bad."

"....."

Eri wondered whether he was lying, but his expression was as hard to read as ever, which made her curious about the taste of the coffee. "...can I taste it?"

"...after you made coffee for me for so long, you had never tried it?"

"Hehe..." Eri laughed awkwardly, which made him roll his eyes and put his mug on his desk before he focused on his job again.

"...so can you share?"

"Do you want to have an indirect kiss with me?"

"Senpai is a pervert!"

"Why?!"

Damn, were you a virgin?

While he was speechless, he looked at the blushing face and fell into a silence.

"......."

Was she really one?

Well, it didn't matter since he didn't have a prejudice toward one, unlike the people in this country, who strangely looked down on the virgin.

Then again, it was nice to marry a virgin, as one had no need to worry about many things, such as disease.

"Instead of the coffee, you should focus more on your report from yesterday."

"How was it, Senpai?"

"You did a good job. You aren't like a new employee now."

Eri smiled softly and shook her head while placing her slender white hands on the top of her smooth skirt. "No, I am still new in many places, and if I can do well, it is because of you, who made that standard procedure, which made it easy for me to understand many things."

With her praise, he smiled and said, "Even if you praise me, you won't get anything."

"Eh...? Senpai is stingy~!"

"...."

If it were a man who acted that way, he was sure that he would beat them up, but as it was a female, a beautiful one at that, he wondered why he couldn't get angry and even felt comfortable with those words from her.

Still, if it was before, he might tell her to work, but as he thought of his system, it might be good to check whether it worked or not, since if the system couldn't give him a ten times return of the money that he had spent, then he could cancel his rental girlfriend appointment.

"Then, let's have lunch together later. It's my treat."

"Really?!"

"Yes." He nodded. "You told me before about that new shop, right? Let's go there before."

"Okay! It's a promise!"

"It's a promise, so go back to your work, so we won't be late for the meeting."

"I will work now!"

Still, as she left, she quickly went to work, and he also focused on his work, but when he did so, he didn't realize that the gaze of his junior was quite weird.

Nevertheless, his day was quite slow as he had finished his target, and while he could get more, it was better to push the appointment to the next month, so that way, he and his team could finish his target with ease.

As he had said before, he didn't seek to become the best and only sought a stable and easy job, since even if he became the best, his earnings wouldn't change.

It was better to take it easy, he thought.

Still, if someone wanted to work harder, he wouldn't stop them, but work had never been a sprint but a marathon.

Instead of using all the stamina before becoming burnt out, it was better to steadily work without hurting oneself, as once again, his income wouldn't change much even if he worked harder.

Then again, in reality, while such a way was ideal, many things couldn't work that way, but fortunately, the industry of his company was quite easy to manage.

"Nifuji!"

Still, as he finished his job and was about to have his lunch with Eri, someone called him out. He was a bit confused, but soon he remembered that this person was someone from his previous department, which made him even confused.

"What's wrong?

"Do you want to go on the group date later at night?"

The invitation was direct.

"..." Eri.

Nifuji was surprised, but he nodded. "Okay."

"..." Eri.
