Chapter 122 - The same as usual

Located in the heart of the Minato-ki district, the headquarters was a monolith of black glass and reinforced steel that seemed to absorb the sunlight rather than reflect it.

In this office, Nifuji led the meeting as usual, surrounded by all of the important members of the toy department, with Koyanagi listening quietly on the side, and Narumi, who had just joined, nervously staring at his broad back without looking away.

Under his suit, Narumi knew well that she had left many scratch marks from her nails.

Yes, she knew that she was wrong, but the sensation that came from having his large cock plunge deep inside her vagina was a little too much, as she cried from the pleasure that was so intense.

Still, this also gave her a forbidden thought, thinking that those people never thought that the man that everyone revered, worshipped, and led everyone in a way that gave them confidence, like a lighthouse that would guide the lost ships on the rough ocean to the land, she had left many naughty marks that made her felt like a bad girl, as she felt good that she had left tainted this amazing man.

Yup, on her mind despite the amazing meeting room, which offered a panoramic view of the urban sprawl. To the west, on a clear day, the pale silhouette of Mount Fuji is visible; to the east, the red and white lattice of the Tokyo Tower glowed against the grey density of the city, yet, even with all of those views, all of her eyes were on him, wishing to be his little support.

Her small hands clenched tightly around her folders, wondering what she could do. Yet she wasn't the only one; Koyanagi thought the same, but her mind had a different idea.

'Fufufu... he must be excited with what I have prepared~!'

Shudder!

Nifuji felt cold all of a sudden, but he quickly calmed himself and moved on, as he knew that he had to clearly express what he wanted to do with this department, such as new products, the creation of events, and also the use of social media, especially the last one, since engagement and the number of followers meant a wealth.

In the eyes of others, it might be just a number, but in the hands of businessmen, that number could become money, and in the hands of politicians, it could become a tool for election.

Nifuji knew the necessity of social media, and even if many dangers existed that came from exposing their lives, the benefits were high, especially for a company like theirs.

If he could use social media, the cost of advertising could be greatly reduced.

Yes, he knew that advertising was important, and he didn't deny that it would help the business become known, add prestige, and do all the other things, but it was expensive!

Moreover, on social media, when a mistake occurred or people tried to smear them, they could respond more quickly to address the problem.

Yes, the television, radio, newspaper, and all other previous media were still important, especially in this age where this country was filled with an aging population, but the new media was also important, especially in the current age, people would spend their hours on their smartphone instead of in front of the television, radio, or even the newspaper.

The times had changed.

If one didn't want to be left behind, they had to move forward, changing, fighting for a better future, since wasn't that how life was?

Unless Nifuji's parents were the wealthiest people in the world, then he knew that he needed to work.

No, even the wealthiest people needed to keep working despite all the glory they showed in the media.

"What if we fail?"

"It doesn't matter since the cost isn't high. If we succeed, we can gain a lot of benefits, and it can even help all the departments, but if we fail, the loss isn't that high."

"Well... that's true."

All of those around might be old, but while many of them disdained the change and wished to stay with the old-fashioned, it didn't mean that they were stupid. All of them were old, and they just wished for stability, especially when the situation of this country was like this, and even if the profit from their department was low, it was fine since they didn't make a loss, and everyone lived comfortably.

Why did they have to change?

It was all due to Nifuji, but what could they do? They were just employees, despite how long they had served. On the other hand, he had real power stemming from the shares he owned in the company.

While it might seem strange, if he wanted to, he could fire all of them and replace them with a lot of new employees. Most of the employees in this country were generalists instead of specialists, and they were trained to do work in all types of departments, so even if one disappeared, the other could replace them directly, like how a new cog was put after the previous one was broken.

Frankly, for the employees, it was extremely tormenting, but in this country, where the saying "a nail that sticks out is hammered" was true, it was impossible to be an individual unless one had enough power to suppress everything, as in Nifuji's case.

'Fortunately...'

He had the system, but even so, as long as people didn't try to make him angry or thought that everything they got was taken for granted, he wouldn't do anything, which was why, he respected those old people, who worked hard to their bones, ignoring their health to provide their family silently instead of asking for a validation of what they had hard work for.

Yet—

'Let's stop thinking.'

After all, in every era, people faced different things; the problems of the previous generation were different from those of the current generation.

What he needed was balance; he couldn't let this department rot and vanish due to the loss, but he also couldn't advance blindly, ignoring all of the troubles around him.

So, once again, let's do our best!

Still, when Koyanagi and Narumi thought to comfort him after a long, exhausting day, Nifuji went to his girlfriend, Eri, as they had lunch together. This time, their lunch was at an Italian restaurant nearby, famous for its pizza that had a unique menu.

Located on a busy corner of a revitalized business district, the restaurant occupies the ground floor of an old brick warehouse. The outside is exposed red brick, worn smooth by time. A large, retractable awning in hunter green covers a small patio area where string lights hang in a zigzag pattern.

The sign is simple—hand-painted gold lettering on wood that creaks slightly in the wind. A chalkboard on the sidewalk lists the "Pie of the Day" in messy, colorful chalk.

Today's specialty is natto pizza and coconut pizza.

Yes, those items were weird, but Nifuji and Eri decided to try them together as they talked about their lives, but her next words made him feel strange.

"Mayuri needs to go to the cosplay event?"
