Chapter 14 - New Sun and Mark-3 Eclipse Edition

"I am Iron Man." Tony's confident face froze on the TV screen.

Chen Tian laughed heartily, occasionally imitating Tony's arrogant voice, "I am Iron Man." He also shook his head from side to side.

Tony, standing beside him, completely ignored Chen Tian's laughter and looked quite pleased with himself.

"What? Are you jealous of my brilliance?"

Tony smugly crossed his legs, took a sip from his glass, and deliberately said in an exaggerated tone, "Oh~ My dear Chen, a mortal like you wouldn't understand. The charisma that shocks the entire audience when a genius, billionaire, philanthropist, and superhero says that line~" He deliberately drew out the last syllable and even fluffed his hair showily.

Chen Tian made an exaggerated retching motion: "Ugh—Tony, do you know you look like a peacock in heat right now?" He mimicked Tony's tone, "'I am Iron Man'? Good heavens, that's even more embarrassing than a chuunibyou line at a comic con!"

"Jealousy, naked jealousy!" Tony wagged his index finger, his face full of smugness that just begged for a punch. "Admit it, you're just envious that I can say such a cool line. Do you want me to teach you a few tricks? I guarantee they'll be a hundred times cooler than your 'In the name of the Moon, I will punish you'~"

"Ha!" Chen Tian suddenly stood up, stomped one foot on the coffee table, and struck a superhero landing pose, "Then should I say 'In the name of my father'? Or 'This is for the Moon's sake'?" He deliberately finished in a deep, affected voice, then couldn't help but burst into laughter himself.

Tony clutched his stomach, laughing and falling onto the sofa: "Oh my god! You're even more chuunibyou than I imagined! Jarvis, quickly record this; I want to play it on a loop at the Stark Industries Christmas party!"

"Recorded, Sir," Jarvis responded calmly.

Chen Tian picked up a throw pillow and threw it at Tony: "Shut up, you show-off! That line of yours is like a teenage boy practicing embarrassing role-play in front of the mirror in the bathroom!"

Tony deftly dodged the pillow attack and instead struck a bodybuilder's pose: "But you can't deny that the whole World is crazy about me~ While some sour-faced guy can only rage impotently here~"

"Pfft!" Chen Tian rolled his eyes, "If I hadn't stopped you, you almost said something as incredibly embarrassing as 'I am Iron Man, your King' at the press conference, didn't you?"

Tony's eyes suddenly lit up: "Wait, that's not bad! Jarvis, write that down for the next press conference!"

"Nooooooo—" Chen Tian wailed and pounced to choke Tony's neck. The two immediately wrestled on the sofa, like two childish elementary school students.

2B stood quietly to the side, a hint of helplessness flashing in her mechanical eyes: "Master… do you need me to prepare tranquilizers for you and Mr. Stark?"

The two of them lay sprawled on the sofa, their laughter gradually subsiding. Chen Tian looked at the starry sky projection on the ceiling; those twinkling lights reminded him of the storm that was about to come.

"Tony," Chen Tian suddenly spoke, his voice carrying a rare seriousness, "Have you ever thought that there might be more than just you as a special existence in this World?"

Tony idly swirled his drink: "What do you mean? Are you finally going to admit that I'm more handsome than you?"

"I mean," Chen Tian turned his head, looking directly into Tony's eyes, "what would you do if one day you met a guy who could catch a tank shell with his bare hands, or a god who could summon lightning, or even… a monster from outer space?"

Tony's fingers tapped lightly on the rim of his glass: "Sounds like a B-movie plot you watched last night." Although his tone was still flippant, his gaze had become serious.

"Just assume I'm overthinking," Chen Tian shrugged, "but if that day really came, would you be afraid?"

The laboratory fell into a brief silence. Jarvis dimmed the lights at an opportune moment, leaving only the blue glow of the arc reactor flickering between the two of them.

Tony suddenly chuckled softly, downing the wine in his glass: "Afraid?" He stood up and walked towards the workbench, "I wasn't even afraid of a cave in Afghanistan."

Chen Tian watched as Tony casually activated the holographic design interface, and the Mark-3 blueprints rotated in the air: "I'm serious, Tony. Some enemies might be beyond your imagination."

Tony's fingers paused. He turned around, and in the dim environment, Tony's resolute eyes sparkled in the blue light: "Listen, buddy. True power is never in the armor," he tapped his temple, "but here."

He walked to the floor-to-ceiling window, overlooking the city in the night: "If someone wants to cause trouble…" Golden-red armor components suddenly descended from the ceiling, automatically assembling onto him, "then let them see how formidable Iron Man is."

The moment the faceplate closed, Chen Tian heard Tony's final words: "After all, I am Tony Stark."

Chen Tian watched the golden-red figure break through the glass and fly into the night sky, a smile unconsciously forming on his lips. He murmured softly, "Yes, you are Iron Man."

Chen Tian looked in the direction Tony had departed, he took a deep breath, then turned to 2B with a smile: "Come on, let us help Tony become that 'mortal body, comparable to a god' guy!"

2B's exquisite face bloomed with a rare smile, blue data streams rapidly flickering in her eyes: "As you command, Master." She bowed gracefully, her silver-white short hair gleaming with a soft halo under the laboratory lights.

"Jarvis!" Chen Tian strode towards the holographic control panel, his voice full of vigor, "Pull up Tony's new energy research data, activate the highest-level encryption project, codenamed—"

His fingers slid rapidly across the holographic keyboard, and a blazing Sun symbol appeared in the air.

"'New Sun' Project."

— — — —

S.H.I.E.L.D. Headquarters, Triskelion Building.

Natasha Romanoff and Phil Coulson stood in front of a holographic projection, reporting to Nick Fury. In the dimly lit conference room, Fury's single eye appeared exceptionally sharp, illuminated by the blue projection light.

"So, this Chen Tian claims to be with Stark?" Fury's fingers tapped lightly on the table, making a dull sound.

"Yes, Officer," Natasha said, arms crossed, leaning against the table. "His exact words were, 'Tony and I are on the same side; we will fight for this World.'"

Coulson added: "According to our investigation, Chen Tian's appearance was too sudden. We didn't even know Obadiah was plotting against Tony; he seemed like a prophet, having obtained Obadiah's criminal evidence in advance. And…" He paused, "Last night at Malibu Beach, when Obadiah attacked Tony, he wasn't worried at all."

Fury's brow furrowed even deeper. He pulled up Chen Tian's file; the photo displayed on the holographic screen showed Chen Tian smiling brightly at the camera.

"A Chinese man who suddenly appeared, became instant friends with Tony Stark, wields a knife with the power of a missile explosion, and claims to fight for the World?" Fury sneered, "This story is too perfect."

Natasha shrugged: "He's very confident. Even when facing my and Coulson's guns, he wasn't afraid at all, especially…" She hesitated, "He seemed to already know me."

Fury's single eye narrowed sharply: "What do you mean?"

"He called me 'Nat,' not 'Agent Romanoff,'" Natasha recalled. "And his tone was as familiar as an old friend."

The conference room fell into a brief silence. Fury stood up and walked to the floor-to-ceiling window, overlooking the night view of Washington. His grim face was reflected in the glass.

"Agent Romanoff," Fury said, still with his back to them, "I want you to go back to Chen Tian's side."

Natasha raised an eyebrow: "Continue to monitor?"

"Monitor? That's too blunt; it should be making friends…" Fury turned around, "I want you to get close to Chen Tian. Since he likes making friends so much…" His lips curled into a cold smile, "Then give him a 'friend'."

Coulson hesitated: "Officer, if Chen Tian really is on our side…"

"Then he should be even more willing to accept our 'friendship,' shouldn't he?" Fury interrupted him. "This World is becoming increasingly dangerous, Coulson. We cannot place our hopes on the goodwill of a stranger."

Natasha nodded, her red hair gleaming with a dark red luster under the lights: "Understood. I will arrange to join Stark Industries as soon as possible."

"Remember," Fury's voice was low and dangerous, "I want to know his every move. Especially…" He pointed to Chen Tian's photo on the screen, "why he knows so many things he shouldn't."

— — — —

Tony, piloting the Mark-2 armor, sliced through the night sky, his golden-red figure gleaming under the moonlight. He had just completed an "impromptu performance"—a stunt flight over Los Angeles, and incidentally taught a lesson to a few rich second-generation kids who were street racing late at night.

"Jarvis, open the garage," Tony said lazily, a smug smile on his lips beneath the faceplate.

"Welcome back, Sir," Jarvis's voice sounded, and the Villa's roof slowly opened.

Tony landed lightly on the designated platform. The armor components automatically detached, neatly lining up to the side. He stretched, then casually picked up the whiskey from the bar and took a large swig.

"Where's Chen? Is he playing games again?" Tony looked around, not seeing the figure who always loved to bicker with him.

"Mr. Chen is in your laboratory, Sir," Jarvis replied. "He has been there for 7 hours and 23 minutes."

Tony nearly choked on his drink: "What? Chen Tian? In my lab?" He put down his glass, a look of disbelief on his face. "Are you sure it's not 2B doing experiments and Chen Tian sleeping beside her?"

"Confirmed, Sir. Mr. Chen has proposed several improvements for the Arc Reactor."

Tony raised an eyebrow and strode quickly towards the lab. Through the glass door, he saw 2B busily operating at the holographic console, with various complex molecular structure diagrams rotating in the air. Meanwhile, Chen Tian was lounging on the nearby sofa, occasionally swiping on a tablet.

"Jarvis, scan my retina." Tony rubbed his eyes. "Am I drunk and hallucinating?"

"Your vision is perfectly normal, Sir."

Tony pushed open the door and cleared his throat dramatically: "Ahem, did I come to the wrong place? When did this become a casual coffee shop?"

Chen Tian didn't even look up: "Don't disturb me, I'm thinking."

"Thinking?" Tony walked over to 2B, looking at the new molecular structure being simulated on the screen. "What is this?"

2B stopped her work: "Master suggested that we combine the new molecular structure left by Mr. Howard with the energy technology from my World to develop a new type of clean energy with self-healing capabilities."

Tony looked at Chen Tian in surprise: "You? Giving suggestions?"

Chen Tian finally looked up, coughed a few times, and then pointed to a model that Pepper had specifically helped him retrieve from Stark Industries.

These models were precisely the terrain models from the Stark Industries Exposition that Tony's father, Howard Stark, had once overseen.

Chen Tian put on a profound expression, pushing up his non-existent glasses.

"I accidentally saw this model, and you know, my intuition has always been very sharp. I just felt something was off, so I asked Pepper to bring this model back for me. And guess what happened?"

Chen Tian clapped his hands, "Unexpectedly, after I copied the model into a 3D virtual scene, removed the paths, all greenery, shrubs, and trees, all parking lots and entrances, the more I looked, the more it seemed wrong. Then 2B reminded me to set the large Earth sculpture from the Stark Industries Exposition as the atomic nucleus and Mark the protons and seeds as wireframe models."

Chen Tian snapped his fingers, and the lights in the entire lab dimmed. Chen Tian suddenly spread his hands.

Suddenly, countless star-like points formed a circular structure, surrounding Tony and Chen Tian.

Tony stood at the center of the swirling points, his pupils reflecting the shimmering blue light. His fingers trembled slightly, wanting to touch but not daring, as if fearing it would all dissipate like a bubble.

"This... this is impossible..." Tony's voice was hoarse, unlike his own. He slowly turned, watching the precisely arranged atomic structures slowly rotate in the air. "Father's design... it actually hid..."

Chen Tian stood in front of the holographic projection console, a faint smile playing on his lips: "Your father saw further than anyone, Tony. He just... didn't get a chance to tell you."

The lab lights came back on, but the atomic structures still floated in the air. Tony, like a sleepwalker, approached one of the molecular models, his fingertip gently tracing its outline.

"A perfect substitute for palladium..." Tony murmured, "More stable, more powerful, and..." His eyes suddenly lit up, "It produces absolutely no toxic side effects!"

2B stood quietly to the side, her silver hair shimmering in the starlight-like blue glow around them: "According to calculations, the energy output of this new element is 12.7 times that of the current Arc Reactor, Mr. Stark."

Tony suddenly turned to Chen Tian: "How on Earth did you discover this? I've been studying Father's data for twenty years and never..."

"You know," Chen Tian shrugged, "it's a mysterious observation method from an ancient Eastern great nation." He walked towards the exposition model, "I feel like your father wouldn't be the kind of person to leave you absolutely nothing, like a Hakihai~ And since I was bored, I learned a bit about your father, Tony. Your father left the future for you, it just needed a little... different perspective."

Tony suddenly burst into laughter, his laughter filled with indescribable emotion: "Jarvis! Immediately initiate the Mark-3 modification plan! We need to redesign the entire energy core!"

Tony was as excited as a child with a new toy. Just as he was about to rush to the workbench, Chen Tian grabbed his shoulder.

"Hold on, Mr. Genius," Chen Tian said with a mysterious smile, "Don't be so quick to dismantle your toy." He clapped his hands again, and the surrounding starlight instantly vanished, replaced by a dazzling blue Sun slowly rising in the center of the lab.

Tony's pupils suddenly constricted, the blue light of the Arc Reactor reflecting on his shocked face. "This... this is..."

"Your father's new element, combined with the mechanical lifeform energy technology from 2B's World," Chen Tian explained softly, his finger gently plucking the ball of blue energy and handing it to Tony, "I've named it the 'New Sun - Eternal Core'."

2B stepped forward, her silver hair swaying slightly: "According to calculations, its energy output is 387 times that of your current Arc Reactor, Mr. Stark."

Tony's fingers trembled slightly as he turned to Chen Tian: "Are you sure this isn't some alien technology? Or... magic?"

Chen Tian burst out laughing: "Come on, Tony, you're a scientist. This is entirely based on your father's research and 2B's World's technology." He paused, "It's just that... we've optimized it a bit. And,"

Chen Tian called out to the air: "Jarvis! Show the genius Tony our designs for today!"

Jarvis's voice immediately responded: "Yes, Mr. Chen."

The lab lights dimmed again, and the holographic projection system activated. A blue light projected from the ceiling, gradually constructing a brand new armor model in the air. This armor retained Iron Man's iconic gold and red color scheme, but its lines were smoother, filled with a sense of futuristic technology.

Tony's eyes widened: "This... this is..."

Chen Tian walked to the projection, tapping his finger, and the various parts of the armor began to decompose and display, "It combines your father's new element energy core with some mechanical lifeform technology from 2B's World."

The armor's chest plate unfolded, revealing a circular core slightly larger than a traditional Arc Reactor, emitting a blue light more intense than any energy source Tony had ever seen.

"The energy core's output power is increased by 387 times," 2B added from the side, "and it also incorporates self-healing nanotech."

Tony circled the holographic projection like a child seeing a new toy: "This propulsion system... this energy distribution network..." He suddenly stopped, pointing to a set of special devices on the armor's back, "What is this?"

Chen Tian revealed a mysterious smile: "We call them 'Photon Wings'." He snapped his fingers, and two pairs of blue light wings, made of pure energy, suddenly unfolded from the armor's back, shining like an Angel's wings.

"A plasma field constructed from the new element's excess energy," Chen Tian explained, "It can achieve a flight speed of Mach 8 within the atmosphere, and it can also protect you from pressure damage due to excessive speed, and even..." He paused, "Theoretically, it can support short-term space flight."

Tony's jaw almost dropped to the floor: "Are you telling me this armor can..."

"Fly out of Earth? Yes." Chen Tian nodded, "Of course, I haven't tested any of these. But..."

2B took over: "According to simulations, this armor can withstand the high temperatures and pressures of re-entry into the atmosphere."

Tony suddenly rushed to the workbench: "Jarvis! Immediately start manufacturing the prototype! Divert all resources!"

"Mr. Chen, you granted me permission to make allocations this afternoon. Resources are currently being diverted, Sir," Jarvis responded, "The basic framework is estimated to be completed in 72 hours."

Chen Tian walked over to Tony: "Don't rush, Mr. Genius. This armor has more surprises." He pulled up another interface, "Look at this defense system."

In the holographic image, the armor's surface was suddenly covered with a flowing blue energy membrane.

"An energy shield," Chen Tian explained, "It can withstand a direct hit from an anti-tank missile. And..." He looked at 2B.

2B nodded knowingly: "The shield system, combined with mechanical life technology, can automatically repair itself by drawing energy from the core when damaged."

Tony suddenly grabbed Chen Tian's shoulder: "Dude, where did you even get these ideas from?"

Chen Tian shook off Tony's hand, put his arm around Tony's neck, and laughed heartily: "I told you, I'd help you get a cooler Mark armor. Hahaha, oh, and you still need to name this armor...."

Tony slowly released Chen Tian's shoulder, his gaze returning to the holographic projection of the armor floating in the air.

The lab lights cast deep shadows on his chiseled face. His eyes gradually shifted from delight to focus, finally settling on the energy core in the armor's chest.

"Mark-3 Eclipse Edition."

Chen Tian stood beside Tony, looking with him at the brand new version of the suit, its Photon Wings behind it emitting a blue glow.
