Chapter 35 - Corvus, Proxima, and Buggy

Chen Tian's figure flickered onto the Triskelion rooftop, the pale blue cursed energy slowly dissipating around him. He lowered his head to look at the Mind Stone in his hand, its gem's light reflecting on his face, giving it a strangely beautiful and eerie glow.

"Jarvis, report on the battlefield situation," he inquired softly as he walked towards the Tesseract device.

"Mr. Chen Tian, Thor and Hulk have successfully suppressed Black Dwarf. Mr. Ban's battle with Ebony Maw is still ongoing. Mr. Stark is clearing the remaining Chitauri forces in the air," Jarvis's voice was steady and efficient. "Civilian evacuation progress is complete."

"Very good." Chen Tian nodded, his gaze sweeping across the rooftop, finally landing on the unconscious Alexander Pierce. This HYDRA high-ranking official was currently sprawled on the ground, his suit disheveled, his face still bearing bruises from his fall.

"Tsk." Chen Tian pursed his lips, a hint of disgust flashing in his eyes. He raised his hand, cursed energy gathering at his fingertips, and without hesitation, he lowly growled: "Cursed Technique Reversal: Red!"

"Boom—!"

A terrifying repulsive force instantly erupted, Pierce's body was launched like a cannonball, tracing a graceful arc across the rooftop, finally disappearing into the distant sky.

"Sir, your throwing accuracy is astonishing," Jarvis's voice chimed in at the right moment. "The target was thrown into the Leviathan's mouth by you and has now been completely pulverized. According to biological scans, the Leviathan's digestive system has classified it as 'inferior protein,' and the residue is being expelled through the excretory duct."

Chen Tian's mouth twitched: "…Jarvis, are you mocking me?"

"I am merely stating facts, Sir." The AI's tone remained calm.

Chen Tian shook his head, no longer bothering with this detail, and turned to walk towards the Tesseract device. The blue cube floated in the center of the mechanical frame, energy continuously being supplied to the wormhole in the sky.

"Now, it's time to shut down this damned portal." He gripped the Mind Stone tightly.

However, just as he was about to act—

The moment Chen Tian was about to close the portal, a bone-chilling coldness suddenly shot up his spine to the back of his neck. His cursed energy perception wildly warned him, and the surrounding air twisted strangely—

A golden and black blade light stabbed towards the back of his heart at a speed beyond the limits of vision!

"Swish!"

"Clang—!"

The crisp sound of metal clashing exploded in the air. The golden and black battle blade stopped abruptly just one centimeter from Chen Tian's back.

The blade tip trembled, intensely rubbing against the suddenly appearing blue cursed energy barrier, sparking dazzling fire. The energy flowing on the golden blade and the cursed energy eroded each other, emitting a grating screech.

Chen Tian slowly turned around, seeing Corvus Glaive's withered, mummy-like face pressed close to his own.

Thanos's most dangerous general was clad in dark purple armor, with crimson light flickering in his sunken eye sockets, and a cruel curve on his lips.

He held his iconic golden and black double-headed battle blade—the Glaive—with both hands, the chains wrapped around the black hilt trembling slightly with the energy flow.

"Corvus Glaive…" Chen Tian narrowed his eyes, but a playful smile appeared on his lips, "Should I say I'm honored? Thanos actually sent the leader of the Black Order to deal with me."

Corvus Glaive did not answer, but suddenly pulled back his blade, retreating three steps like a ghost. First, he looked at his weapon in surprise, somewhat puzzled why it had stopped one centimeter in front of this human, even though it was clearly about to stab him.

Corvus Glaive slowly retracted the Glaive, his crimson eyes fixed intently on Chen Tian, his cracked lips twitching slightly: "Interesting…"

As Thanos's most lethal assassin, Corvus Glaive never fought a battle he wasn't sure of winning.

He cautiously paced around Chen Tian, his combat boots making rhythmic sounds on the ground, and his dark purple armor emitting subtle metallic friction sounds with his movements. His crimson eyes locked onto his prey like a viper, trying to find a weakness in this human.

Chen Tian looked at Corvus Glaive's arrogant demeanor, disdainfully pursing his lips: "Had enough?"

Before his words finished, he suddenly raised his right hand: "Cursed Technique Lapse: Blue!"

Corvus Glaive's pupils suddenly contracted, and the Glaive instantly crossed his chest. But the terrifying gravitational pull still made his figure sway—at this critical moment, his figure suddenly blurred, leaving an afterimage in place, his true body already having flashed ten meters away.

"A decent trick, human." Corvus Glaive's hoarse voice came from behind him, "But not enough—"

His mockery stopped abruptly.

Because Chen Tian had already appeared behind him, his original black hair had inexplicably turned into a strange half-black, half-white color, with suffocating cursed energy fluctuations swirling around him. Corvus Glaive only had time to see a fist wrapped in black energy rapidly expanding in his vision—

"Black Flash." "Bang!"

This punch landed squarely on Corvus Glaive's withered face. Amidst the burst of black light, Corvus Glaive's body, like a cannonball, pierced through the rooftop, smashed through layers of floorboards, and finally exploded into a huge hole in the middle of the Triskelion.

Amidst the swirling dust, Chen Tian shook his wrist, looking at the destruction he had caused, and softly said: "Now, it's time to end this farce."

Chen Tian, holding the Mind Stone, leaped down from the broken hole in the rooftop. The gem at the top of the staff emitted an eerie light, forming a pale blue energy barrier around him.

The moment he landed—

"Bang bang bang bang bang!"

Countless bullets whistled from all directions, but abruptly stopped one centimeter from his body, as if hitting an invisible wall. The bullet heads vibrated violently in the air, sparks flying, but they could not advance a single inch further.

Chen Tian frowned slightly, looking around.

He had landed in a wide corridor on the middle floor of the Triskelion, which had clearly become an intense battlefield—to his left were HYDRA armed forces led by Rumlow, wearing black combat suits, holding sophisticated weapons, and firing frantically from behind cover; to his right were S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents led by Steve Rogers. Captain America held his vibranium shield, Barton drew his bow and arrow, and Coulson and Melinda May each occupied advantageous positions, engaging in fierce crossfire with HYDRA.

The two sides were originally locked in a fierce battle, when suddenly a large hole was blasted in the ceiling, and Corvus Glaive smashed down like a cannonball. Before they could react, another figure descended from the sky, and all the bullets stopped in front of him.

"….."

The entire battlefield fell eerily silent for a second.

"Open fire! Who cares what it is!" a HYDRA Commander roared.

The HYDRA soldiers turned their guns, bullets pouring towards Chen Tian like rain. However, all attacks stopped in front of him, and the suspended bullet heads quickly formed a metallic barrier, densely arranged in the air.

Chen Tian sighed: "This is… annoying."

He gently waved his left hand—

"Cursed Technique Reversal: Red."

"Boom—!"

A terrifying repulsive force erupted. All the stopped bullets flew back at an even faster speed, precisely piercing the forehead or heart and other vital points of every HYDRA soldier.

Steve immediately raised his shield to defend, but those bullets seemed to have eyes, perfectly avoiding all S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents.

"Chen Tian?" Barton lowered his bow, surprised, "How are you—"

"No time to explain." Chen Tian interrupted Barton, his gaze fixed on the smoke-filled ruins ahead, "The BOSS battle in the game isn't over yet."

As soon as his words fell, a burst of dark purple energy fluctuations suddenly erupted from the ruins. Rubble was shaken away, and Corvus Glaive's figure slowly stood up, his damaged armor and face covered in cracks, his crimson eyes burning with madness.

"Human…" he hissed hoarsely, the Glaive trembling violently, "You have angered me."

Chen Tian suddenly turned and threw the Mind Stone to Steve: "Captain, catch!"

Steve instinctively caught the staff, a look of bewilderment on his face: "This is…?"

"You can use this to close the wormhole." Chen Tian spoke rapidly, "The device to open the wormhole is on the rooftop. Also, whatever you do, don't lose the staff, otherwise we'll never be able to stop the Chitauri army."

"Wait, why don't you go yourself?" Barton frowned and asked.

Chen Tian's lips curved into a smile, his gaze turning to Corvus Glaive. "Because I have to… eliminate the BOSS here."

Steve and Barton exchanged glances, the former nodding solemnly: "Understood. Hawkeye, let's go!"

"Hey, can you win?" Barton shouted to Chen Tian before leaving.

Chen Tian waved his hand without looking back: "I will win."

As soon as Chen Tian finished saying "I will win," his expression suddenly froze, and he raised his hand to give himself a crisp slap.

"Slap!"

Chen Tian rubbed his reddened cheek, a look of annoyance on his face: "Damn it, have I been contaminated by 2.5 Gojo Satoru's ability? I even dared to make such a prediction…"

Before his words finished, Corvus Glaive's figure suddenly transformed into a purplish-black lightning bolt, the Glaive striking directly at Chen Tian's throat with space-tearing force!

"Ding—"

The blade stopped again one centimeter from Chen Tian's throat, colliding with the Limitless Cursed Technique and producing dazzling sparks.

Chen Tian tilted his head, looking at Corvus Glaive, who was so close, with a playful expression: "Hey, hey, sneak attacks aren't a good habit, My Lord General."

Corvus Glaive's crimson pupils contracted violently, his withered face contorting with rage. He abruptly pulled back his battle blade, his figure retreating several meters, the runic chains on the hilt trembling wildly.

"Human… what exactly are you?" Corvus Glaive's hoarse voice rarely carried a hint of surprise.

Chen Tian shrugged, one hand in his pocket, looking nonchalant: "Did Thanos not tell you my identity when he sent you? His lips curved into a dangerous arc, "Then you… are in for a World of trouble."

The next second, Chen Tian's figure suddenly disappeared, reappearing behind Corvus Glaive, his black and white hair fluttering, cursed energy boiling.

Corvus Glaive instinctively turned to block, but saw Chen Tian's fist, wrapped in dark energy, striking with a speed beyond vision!

"Black Flash: Triple!"

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

Three heavy punches accurately struck Corvus Glaive's chest, abdomen, and chin. Amidst the burst of black light, Thanos's strongest warrior was sent flying like a rag doll, consecutively smashing through seven walls, finally crashing heavily into the underground parking lot.

Amidst the swirling dust, Chen Tian shook his wrist, softly saying: "I told you I'd win…"

Suddenly, as if remembering something, he slapped himself again: "Damn it! I said it again!"

At this moment, Jarvis's voice sounded in his ear: "Sir, Corvus Glaive's life signal is still strengthening. I suggest you end the battle as soon as possible."

Chen Tian sighed: "Got it, got it…" He looked at the huge hole in the underground parking lot, his eyes gradually becoming serious, "Looks like I'll have to get serious."

Chen Tian instantly appeared in the dim underground parking lot, with a faint blue glow of cursed energy forming around him. Shattered concrete and twisted rebar were scattered everywhere, but Corvus Glaive, who should have been lying there, was nowhere to be seen.

"There's an ambush..." Chen Tian narrowed his eyes, and his cursed energy perception spread out like ripples. Suddenly, a playful smile touched his lips—sure enough, another unfamiliar energy fluctuation appeared in his perception.

From the darkness, three crimson light beams shot out abruptly, like venomous snakes striking, aiming directly for Chen Tian's throat, heart, and glabella!

"Whoosh—"

Chen Tian's figure vanished from his original spot, and the three red lights passed through the afterimage he left behind, melting three smoking holes in the concrete wall.

"This attack method..." Chen Tian appeared by a pillar ten meters away, deep in thought, "Could it be..."

Before he finished speaking, Corvus Glaive's Glaive had already stabbed out from the shadows, its tip just millimeters from Chen Tian's back!

"Clang!"

In the nick of time, Chen Tian's cursed energy barrier automatically activated, and the blade collided with the barrier, sparking blinding flashes. But this attack was completely different from before—the blade was entwined with a strange crimson energy, slowly eroding the defense of the Limitless Cursed Technique!

"So that's how it is." Chen Tian's figure flickered, creating distance, his gaze locking onto a spot in the darkness, "Proxima Midnight has arrived as well."

A cold snort came from the darkness, and a tall figure slowly walked out. She was clad in dark golden armor, holding a uniquely shaped long spear, with three crimson light points suspended around the spear tip—it was Thanos's daughter, Proxima Midnight, one of the Black Order.

"Corvus, you're truly in a sorry state this time." She mockingly looked at her husband, who had appeared from the shadows on the other side, "To be forced to such a degree by a mere Earthling."

Corvus Glaive did not respond, only tightening his grip on the Glaive. Chen Tian noticed that the wounds on his body were healing at a visible rate, clearly indicating that Proxima Midnight's arrival had provided him with some form of energy support.

"Two against one?" Chen Tian tilted his head, his white hair moving without wind, "Just right for a warm-up."

Proxima Midnight sneered, thrusting her spear forward, and three crimson light beams shot out in a triangular formation. At the same time, Corvus Glaive's figure suddenly vanished, and the Glaive slashed at Chen Tian's neck from a completely opposite angle!

Facing this brilliant combined attack, Chen Tian, however, showed an excited smile: "Now this is more like it!"

"Cursed Technique Reversal: Red!"

A terrifying repulsive force erupted from Chen Tian, deflecting both attacks simultaneously. But Proxima Midnight's red light, after being repelled, strangely curved and continued its pursuit; while Corvus Glaive, using the Impact of the repulsion, twisted his body bizarrely in mid-air, his blade cutting a perfect arc!

"Clang! Clang!"

Chen Tian simultaneously condensed cursed energy in both hands; his left hand blocked the Glaive, and his right hand intercepted the crimson light beams. The Impact wave generated by the collision of the three energies flipped all the vehicles in the entire underground parking lot, and alarms blared everywhere.

"Jarvis," Chen Tian still had the leisure to speak amidst the intense battle, "How's the situation on the top floor?"

"Agent Barton has successfully closed the wormhole, sir." Jarvis immediately responded, "But Captain Rogers is currently pursuing Winter Soldier—Barton was attacked after closing the wormhole, and the Mind Stone was stolen."

"Hm?" He took a step back to create distance, "Is Barton seriously injured?"

"Shot in the shoulder and leg, but no life-threatening injuries. Agent Natasha is currently attending to him."

"Alright, dispatch a medical pod for rescue, and notify Miss 2B to pursue Winter Soldier. Don't let Winter Soldier get away with the Mind Stone."

"Miss 2B has been notified."

Chen Tian's cursed energy instantly surged, his already completely white hair wildly dancing in the energy storm: "Looks like I need to finish this quickly!"

Proxima Midnight's spear suddenly split into three crimson rays, weaving a net of Death in the air. Corvus Glaive, meanwhile, transformed into a purple afterimage, and the runic chains on his Glaive extended like living beings, sealing all of Chen Tian's escape routes.

Just as the two fatal attacks were about to reach Chen Tian—

"Unlimited Void."

A pure black domain suddenly unfolded, and within it, endless white light and nothingness instantly appeared, then the entire space turned pitch black.

Corvus Glaive's Glaive was frozen just one centimeter from Chen Tian's throat, while Proxima Midnight's spear was suspended in mid-air, and the three crimson light beams had vanished without a trace.

Corvus Glaive's crimson eyes were filled with terror; he could clearly feel his thoughts being washed away by an infinite stream of information, every movement requiring a long process of thought. Proxima Midnight's expression was frozen in a moment of horror; her boasted speed was meaningless at this moment.

Chen Tian lightly snapped his fingers: "Now, let's end this game."

Chen Tian stood in the center of the pitch-black domain, his white hair gently swaying in the void. He slowly raised his right hand, fingers splayed: "Blue."

An invisible gravitational force erupted, and the bodies of Corvus Glaive and Proxima Midnight uncontrollably flew towards each other.

"It's over." Chen Tian said softly, forming a hand seal with his left hand at his chest, and condensing a dazzling blue-purple energy orb in the palm of his right hand. Within the energy orb, countless stars seemed to rotate, emitting a heart-pounding fluctuation.

"Hollow Purple!"

As Chen Tian's low roar, the energy orb suddenly erupted into a purple light beam several meters in diameter. Wherever the light beam passed, space itself twisted, and the concrete structure of the underground parking lot was easily torn apart like paper.

The increasingly approaching destructive light was reflected in Corvus Glaive's pupils. He desperately tried to raise his Glaive to block, but could only watch as the light beam engulfed him and his wife.

"Boom—!!!"

The purple light beam pierced through the entire Triskelion, from the underground parking lot all the way up, penetrating dozens of floors, and finally breaking through the dome to shoot straight into the sky. The entire building trembled violently, and countless glass windows shattered under the Impact wave.

When the light dissipated and the dust gradually settled, Chen Tian's domain also lifted. He stood in the center of a huge circular crater, surrounded by melted rebar and crystallized concrete.

On the ground, only a cracked Glaive remained, stuck diagonally, its once shining runes completely extinguished.

Chen Tian bent down and picked up the battle blade, his fingertips lightly tracing the cracks on its surface: "The Black Order, are they this weak?"

At this moment, Jarvis's voice sounded: "Sir, Winter Soldier has been detected escaping with the Mind Stone. Miss 2B was intercepted by Captain Rogers, and the two are currently in combat."

Upon hearing this news, Chen Tian took a deep breath. Steve still couldn't let go of his friend, willing to let the World fall into greater crisis just to let Bucky escape?

— — — —

Steve and Barton, holding the Mind Stone, moved quickly through the smoke-filled corridor. Bullets whistled past them, but the two worked in perfect coordination, one responsible for defense, the other for clearing the way.

"Three more floors to the rooftop!" Barton said, panting, as he shot an arrow through a HYDRA soldier around the corner.

Steve raised his vibranium shield, deflecting several stray bullets: "The wormhole is still expanding, we must speed up!"

The two fought their way through, finally reaching the rooftop. Amidst the howling wind, the Tesseract device emitted a dazzling blue light, its energy fluctuations distorting the surrounding air.

"That's the device!" Barton pointed to the central control panel, "Just plug the scepter in and it'll close!"

Steve nodded, and the two rushed forward against the strong wind. Just as they were about to approach the control panel, a dark figure suddenly descended from the sky—

"Bang!"

Winter Soldier Bucky's metal arm heavily struck Steve's shield, the immense Impact forcing both of them back several steps.

"Bucky..." A trace of pain flashed in Steve's eyes, "Move aside, we have to close the wormhole!"

Winter Soldier was expressionless, his mechanical arm clicking: "Mission... stop them..."

Seeing this, Barton immediately drew his bow: "Captain, I'll hold him off!"

Three specialized arrows shot out simultaneously; Winter Soldier deftly dodged, but one of the arrows suddenly exploded, and smoke instantly enveloped the entire rooftop.

"Now!" Barton shouted.

Steve seized the opportunity and rushed towards the control panel, slamming the Mind Stone into the center of the device. The gem at the scepter's tip resonated with the Tesseract, and a dazzling blue light erupted—

"Boom!"

An energy wave spread out from the device, and the wormhole in the sky began to rapidly contract. The invading Chitauri army instantly lost power, falling from the sky like puppets with cut strings.

"It worked!" Barton showed a relieved smile.

But just in this moment of relaxation, several gunshots suddenly came from behind!

"Bang bang bang!"

Barton's body violently shook. Although his nanotech battlesuit blocked most of the bullets, two still penetrated his defense, deeply embedding themselves in his shoulder and thigh. The intense pain made him fall to his knees, and the Mind Stone slipped from his hand, sliding towards the edge of the rooftop.

"Barton!" Steve exclaimed, immediately turning to rescue him.

Winter Soldier, however, seized this opportunity, his metal arm heavily striking Steve's back, sending him flying several meters. Steve struggled to get up, watching helplessly as Winter Soldier picked up the dropped Mind Stone.

"Bucky... don't..." Steve's voice was hoarse, "That thing is too dangerous..."

A flicker of emotion appeared in Winter Soldier's eyes, but it quickly returned to coldness. He turned and rushed towards the edge of the rooftop, leaping down without hesitation.

"No!" Steve rushed to the railing, only to see Winter Soldier safely descending to the ground with the aid of a rope device, quickly disappearing around the street corner.

Steve's hand gripped the railing tightly; he had to pursue him—but behind him came Barton's painful groans. Turning back, he saw Barton lying on the ground, his face pale, blood soaking half of his shoulder.

"Damn it..." Steve was torn, fine beads of sweat breaking out on his forehead. Just then, the rooftop door was violently pushed open.

"What's the situation?" Natasha's agile figure appeared in the doorway. She quickly surveyed the scene: the open wormhole device, the injured Barton, and Steve's anxious expression.

"Natasha!" Steve let out a sigh of relief, "Bucky stole the scepter, but I can't leave Barton..."

Natasha was already kneeling beside Barton, expertly examining his wounds: "Leave him to me." She looked up at Steve, "Go after him, Captain. I'll handle things here."

Steve nodded gratefully, took one last look at Natasha, who was staunching Barton's bleeding, and without hesitation, climbed over the railing, pursuing Winter Soldier down the rope he had left behind.
