Chapter 46 - Cutting off Destiny

The night sky over Sokovia was stained blood-red by artillery fire.

Django Maximoff ran frantically through the streets, clutching six-year-old Pietro, with his wife Maria close behind, tightly holding a similarly young Wanda in her arms.

Pietro's small face was pale, and Wanda's hair was matted to her forehead with sweat.

"We're almost home," Django's voice was fragmented by his heavy panting.

A shell exploded not far away, and the Impact threw Maria off balance.

"Mommy!" Wanda suddenly shrieked, her small hands unconsciously glowing red.

But the next second, her mother pressed her back into her embrace.

"Don't look, dear, don't look…" Maria's voice trembled violently with fear as she stumbled to keep up with her husband's pace.

They crashed through their dilapidated front door, and Django immediately turned to brace the door with his full weight.

"Pietro, take your sister and hide under the table!" The boy tugged his sister's wrist, and the two small figures squeezed into the narrow space beneath the oak dining table.

Maria frantically pushed the sofa to block the door, while Django moved a heavy bookcase.

Outside, the roar of armored vehicle tracks grinding on the road could be heard, mixed with the shouts of soldiers and the wails of the wounded.

"It's the anti-government forces," Django's nails dug into the door, "They're clearing out the civilian area…"

Suddenly, Wanda crawled out from under the table, her small hand pointing straight out the window.

"Daddy, that flying iron barrel…"

Django followed his daughter's finger and instantly turned ashen—in the night sky, a missile emblazoned with STARK INDUSTRIES was hurtling towards them, trailing a fiery exhaust.

"No!!!"

Just at this critical moment, Django's shriek was torn by a roar resembling a heavy motorcycle engine ripping through the night sky.

A figure flashed into mid-air, blocking the missile's trajectory, black clothes flapping in the night wind.

Chen Tian, facing the missile flying towards him at an extremely high speed, even had the leisure to glance back at the terrified Maximoff family inside the window.

"Don't be afraid," he whispered to Wanda behind the glass, his right hand already gripping the greatsword burning with crimson flames behind his back—Scarlet Queen.

The firelight from Sokovia City illuminated the intricate mechanical patterns on the sword's blade.

"EX—Charge complete!"

With a roar, Scarlet Queen's blade carved a perfect fan-shaped Arc Light in the air.

The built-in combustion device within the blade erupted with high-temperature flames, transforming the entire greatsword into a crimson meteor.

"Boom—!"

The missile was precisely split in half, the explosion's firelight illuminating Chen Tian's sword-wielding figure as if a God of War had descended.

"Master! There's another one!" 2B's warning came through the communicator.

Not far away, Dante was leaping onto an armored vehicle with a Rocket launcher, blasting an anti-government infantry fighting vehicle.

"Big nephew, the left side is yours!" He laughed, slinging Rebellion over his shoulder.

Deadpool had climbed onto the Maximoff's windowsill at some point, hanging upside down with his mask's back facing forward: "Whoa! This is even cooler than a Switch Axe from Monster Hunter!" He noticed the red glow on Wanda's hand, "Wait… this chick can use magic?"

"Get out!" Django grabbed the iron tongs by the fireplace and threw them at the wack.

Deadpool agilely flipped away, but knocked over the bookcase Maria had just used to block the door.

Outside, the second missile had already broken through the clouds.

Madara's Sharingan suddenly opened: "Master, do you need me?"

Chen Tian sheathed Scarlet Queen behind his back, his left hand already drawing Azure Rose.

The barrel of this custom revolver was spinning at high speed, emitting a mechanical buzzing sound.

"No need, I'm not who I used to be." He pulled the trigger repeatedly, and Azure Rose's six magic-energy bullets whistled out.

The bullets precisely struck the missile's warhead, exploding in the sky like a fiery flower.

At the last moment, 2B's Pure White Pact suddenly appeared horizontally in front of Chen Tian: "Master, detecting abnormal energy reactions!"

Wanda, who was under the dining table, had stood up at some point, and the crimson energy of chaos magic entanglement her small body like a living thing.

The little girl's eyes had turned completely blood-red, staring intently at the missile.

"I don't want… Daddy and Mommy to die…" With a childish cry, an armored vehicle in the distance strangely twisted and deformed, finally crashing to the ground with a 'thud,' becoming scrap metal.

Deadpool clapped exaggeratedly: "Bravo! These special effects are much richer than Marvel's crew!" He suddenly turned to the fourth wall, "Right, audience friends? This scene should be put in the Doctor Strange 2 post-credits!"

No one noticed that Chen Tian's magic power also emitted a faint blue light—Nero's power and Wanda's chaos magic created a wondrous resonance.

"Master!" Madara suddenly turned alertly, "More armored units are approaching!"

The roar of armored units tore through the night sky of Sokovia, tracks crushing the street's flagstones, cannon muzzles glinting with the cold light of Death.

The shouts of soldiers intertwined with the roar of engines, as if the bells of hell were tolling.

Chen Tian looked down at Wanda.

Tear stains still streaked the little girl's cheeks, and the distant burning firelight was reflected in her red pupils.

He slowly knelt down, smiled slightly, and gently wiped away her tears with his fingertip.

"Your Daddy and Mommy won't die."

His voice was very soft, yet it brought Wanda an unusually warm strength.

"Because I am here."

The night wind suddenly picked up, Chen Tian's clothes rippling in the smoke of gunpowder.

He straightened up, and Scarlet Queen roared out of its sheath from his back, its blade spewing scorching blue-purple demonic flames.

2B silently stood beside him, Pure White Pact's blade carving a cold Arc Light in the air.

Her silver hair danced in the heat, her pupils locked onto every enemy, her killing intent like ice.

The next second—

The air was torn by a power beyond reason.

Vergil's figure appeared, Yamato still sheathed, but the sharp killing intent already caused shattered stones within ten meters to levitate.

He tilted his head slightly, his eyes beneath his silver hair as cold as blades.

Chen Tian stepped forward, and the moment he brushed past him—

Clang—!

The instant Yamato was unsheathed, the blade light poured out like moonlight, splitting the nearest armored vehicle in two down the middle.

The cut was smooth as a mirror, not even having time to explode.

Vergil sheathed his sword, his steps as graceful as a God of Death attending a feast, silently following behind Chen Tian.

And behind Chen Tian, the metallic friction sound of Rebellion pierced the night sky.

Dante had followed behind Chen Tian at some point, the greatsword casually slung over his shoulder, his chin slightly raised.

Chen Tian felt the presence of the three behind him, a playful smile playing on his lips: "Ready, players?"

2B's pupils flashed with data streams, holding Pure White Pact inverted.

Vergil's hand was already on Yamato's hilt, his eyes beneath his silver hair gleaming with cold light.

Dante lazily rotated his neck, Rebellion eager on his shoulder.

"Game start," Chen Tian said softly, his voice carrying a hint of mischievous anticipation.

The Commander of the armored unit finally realized—they were not facing humans at all.

"Fire!!!"

Cannons swiveled, dozens of machine guns simultaneously spat fire, bullets pouring down like rain—

The next second, the World was torn apart by three distinctly different powers.

Vergil vanished.

In his place was a blue afterimage streaking across the battlefield; wherever it passed, the cannon barrels, tracks, and armor plates of armored vehicles were cut as if by an invisible sharp blade, neatly disintegrating.

2B moved.

Her figure transformed into a silver lightning bolt, Pure White Pact weaving a net of Death in the air.

Soldiers' heads flew, turrets were precisely dismembered, and fragments of flesh and steel blossomed in the air.

Dante let out a loud laugh and slammed Rebellion into the ground.

Boom—!!!

A terrifying Impact overturned an entire row of tanks, their tracks snapping section by section.

He flipped up, sweeping his blade horizontally, sending dozens of soldiers flying like bowling pins, crashing into the distant ruins.

And Chen Tian—

He stood in place, facing the whistling bullet rain, and slowly raised Scarlet Queen.

With a sharp twist of his palm on the sword's hilt, Scarlet Queen emitted a thunderous roar, the mechanical patterns on its blade lighting up section by section, the accumulated energy distorting the surrounding air.

"EX—"

His voice was like thunder.

"—Burst!!!"

The moment the blade swung down, flames swept across the entire battlefield like an enraged dragon.

Blue-purple demonic flames devoured all artillery fire, steel, and flesh, the explosion's firelight soaring into the sky, completely igniting the night sky of Sokovia.

Wanda stood at her doorstep, her small hand clutching her mother's clothes tightly.

In her red pupils, the figure standing with a sword in the sea of fire was reflected—

Like a god, like a demon, like one who rewrites fate, slowly engraving his image onto her small heart.

Pietro peeked out from behind her, his eyes wide.

"Mom…" he whispered, his voice trembling slightly from the shock. "Are they gods?"

Maria didn't answer. She just held her two children tightly, tears silently streaming down her face.

In the center of the battlefield, Chen Tian hung Scarlet Queen back on his back. The demonic flames gradually extinguished, and as the smoke cleared, his figure became exceptionally clear in the first light of dawn.

He turned to look at the Maximoff family, a slight smile on his lips.

"No, Pietro."

The morning breeze carried his voice away, yet every word was etched into their bones.

"We're just here to tell this World—

—that fate can be severed."

— — — — — —

The smoke had not yet cleared when Deadpool suddenly poked his head out from behind the burning tank wreckage, the white eye patches on his mask comically wide: "Cut! Cut! Director, this scene must be reshot with an IMAX camera!"

He scrambled on all fours to Chen Tian, then suddenly dropped to one knee in a fanboy pose: "Oh my God, this sword-sheathing shot is enough for me to drool over for ten years! If you add some slow motion…"

As he spoke, he suddenly turned to an invisible camera, gesturing in the air as if storyboarding: "Listen, audience friends, here there should be a 360-degree circling shot, with The Avengers BGM, and finally, when it freezes, sprinkle some cherry blossoms…" Before he could finish, 2B slapped him into the wall with her sword sheath.

"Master, 2B can't stand this guy whose mouth never stops." 2B's pupils flickered, her fingers tightening on the sword sheath.

Vergil looked coldly at Deadpool embedded in the wall, taking a deep breath. "I'm going to make him shut up forever."

Dante, who was using Rebellion as a selfie stick, whistled at the remark: "Hey, bro, at least wait until he adjusts my IG filter…" He suddenly looked around as if noticing something: "Wait, where's that Uchiha family's poker face?"

As if in response, the roar of Chibaku Tensei came from afar. Madara stood atop a bell tower a hundred meters away, his half-body Susanoo's chakra sword tossing the last tank into the sky. His Sharingan glanced at Dante and he snorted, "Childish."

Deadpool pried himself out of the wall, his mask suddenly turning into a shocked emoji: "Holy shit! So Madara was secretly farming KDA!"

As he spoke, he pulled out a scoreboard from nowhere: "Currently, MVP is Vergil with 9 kills and 0 Deaths. Dante is deducted points for showing off. Although Boss Chen Tian is acting cool, he's still the sugar daddy…"

A vein throbbed on Chen Tian's forehead, and Scarlet Queen's engine suddenly roared. Deadpool instantly hid behind Wanda: "Kid, quickly use your magic! You're a future super Witch!" He then noticed the little girl staring blankly at his mask.

"This red… is pretty," Wanda said unconsciously, her fingertips glowing with faint chaos magic. Deadpool's mask suddenly turned into a teary-eyed emoji: "OMG! I've been officially approved!" He turned and maniacally shook hands with an invisible wall: "Kevin Feige, do you see this? This is a multiverse crossover!"

Madara instantly appeared before everyone, his Sharingan dangerously narrowed: "If you make any more noise, I'll seal you too."

Deadpool immediately zipped his mouth, but secretly mouthed to Wanda: "Remember, kid, if you ever meet a weird uncle with a gem on his forehead, run fast—"

Chen Tian finally snapped his fingers, unable to bear it any longer. 2B's Pure White Pact, Vergil's Yamato, and Dante's Rebellion were simultaneously pressed against Deadpool's neck.

"Now," Scarlet Queen's hydraulic pipes hissed with pressure, and Chen Tian gave a benevolent smile: "Do you want to be sliced by Dimension Slash, or blasted to dust by an EX charge, or…" Azure Rose's cylinder clicked: "Try a mind-blowing six-shot magic bullet?"

Deadpool's mask turned into the classic "uh oh" expression, and he suddenly pointed at the sky: "Look! Nick Fury's spaceship!"

Taking advantage of everyone's momentary dazed, Deadpool violently spun the Cable's time-travel watch on his wrist. The dial's hands spun wildly, and his figure began to flicker and distort.

Only a solitary red glove remained in the air, with "See you in the next movie~ ♦" written on it in marker. Pietro curiously picked it up, but Wanda snatched it away and threw it into the Fire, where the glove slowly burned.

The flames consumed the glove Deadpool left behind, and the ashes drifted in the morning breeze. Pietro looked up, watching Wanda burn the glove, muttering softly, "I wanted to keep it as a souvenir…"

Just then—

Boom—!!!

A deafening engine roar came from the sky. Several Red Room aircraft streaked through the clouds, their wingtip red stars gleaming in the morning sun.

The hatch opened, and a burly figure leaned halfway out. Alexei, the Red Guardian, waved his hand grandly and shouted:

"Comrades! We're here!"

His voice echoed like thunder over the ruins of Sokovia, behind him a team of fully equipped Red Room Agents, their firearms and gear glinting coldly in the morning light.

Chen Tian looked up slightly, narrowing his eyes at the aircraft, a faint smile on his lips.

Just then—

A small, soft hand quietly slipped into his palm.

Chen Tian froze, then looked down.

Wanda stood beside him, her brown hair gently swaying in the wind. Her eyes still glowed faintly red, but at this moment, a brilliant smile bloomed on her lips, like the warmest ray of light in the morning glow.

"Thank you," she whispered.

Chen Tian was silent for a second, then he slowly squeezed the small hand, his smile deepening.

"You're welcome, little one."

Pietro, wide-eyed, looked at Wanda, then at Chen Tian, and finally couldn't help but interject:

"Hey! What about me? I want a handshake too!"

Chen Tian glanced at him, snorted a laugh, and reached out to ruffle his silver hair.

"Alright, you too."

Maria and Django stood not far away, watching the scene, their strained nerves finally relaxing slightly. Maria's eyes were a little red, and she whispered:

"They… truly changed our fate."

Django tightly hugged his wife's shoulders, his gaze complex as he looked at Chen Tian and his group.

"Perhaps… this World still has hope."

— — — — — —

The Red Room aircraft slowly descended, its hatch fully open. Alexei strode out, followed by a squad of elite Red Room Agents. He looked around at the devastated battlefield, then at Chen Tian and his group standing in the ruins, and grinned:

"Looks like we missed quite a show?"

Dante, carrying Rebellion, lazily whistled:

"Don't worry, buddy, next time you lead the charge."

Vergil glanced at the Red Room Agents, then leaned against a wall.

2B stood beside Chen Tian, smiling as she watched Chen Tian holding the hands of the two little ones.

Madara stood on a tall building in the distance, his Sharingan subtly shifting, muttering softly:

"Hmph… late reinforcements."

But he didn't leave, just quietly watched everything unfold.

Chen Tian released Wanda's hand and took a step forward, his gaze sweeping over the Red Room members, finally resting on Alexei.

"Since you're here, don't just stand around," he said indifferently, pointing to the distant city ruins.

"The war in Sokovia isn't over yet. There are still many civilians who need to be evacuated."

Alexei grinned, slamming his fist into his palm:

"Then let's get to work, comrades!"

— — — —

The morning light pierced through the smoke, coating the ruins with a bloody golden edge.

Fate, at this moment, was completely rewritten.

Dante sat cross-legged on a reinforced concrete beam. A lollipop, found from some ruin, spun between his teeth, Rebellion casually propped beside him.

Vergil leaned against a broken wall. Yamato stood upright before him, his hands clasped lightly on the hilt, silver hair falling to cover his closed eyes. All the debris within three meters floated defying gravity, telling everyone he wasn't asleep.

Madara's figure was perched high on half a water tower behind everyone, standing with crossed arms, a floating flame fan slowly rotating behind him. Un-dried blood beads dripped from the fan's ribs, igniting into sparks in mid-air.

2B stood with her hands crossed in front of her, quietly looking at Chen Tian, her smile overflowing, her eyes containing nothing but her Master.

Chen Tian stood sideways to the slowly rising sun, one hand on his forehead, his eyes slightly narrowed to block the sunlight.

He stood at the boundary of light and Shadow, while Wanda and Pietro were held tightly in their parents' arms, watching it all unfold.
