Chapter 88 - Negotiations Break Down

Deep in the Universe, countless spaceship engines cut through the darkness, converging on Titan like migrating star clusters.

Thanos's Sanctuary I and Sanctuary II—two colossal warships, comparable to planetary fortresses—hung silently outside Titan's orbit, their dark armor reflecting the cold light of the stars.

Around the warships, dense Chitauri fleets, Outriders legions, and Black Order warships were arrayed, like hungry wolves awaiting their Master's command.

The news spread throughout the Universe like a supernova explosion.

Nova Prime of Xandar set aside her administrative duties and personally led the Nova Corps' most elite fleet to observe the battle;

The Golden Priests of the Sovereign, for the first time ever, left their perfect Planet and erected an energy barrier from afar;

Even Asgard, which usually remained aloof, sent an Angel—though the 'Odin' currently on the throne was actually Loki in disguise, the true Odin had long been exiled to Earth.

"Such a grand display from Thanos?" Nova Prime stood at the flagship's viewport, her fingers unconsciously tapping the control panel, "Just to eliminate Chen Tian?"

"This Blue Planet person... what power does he possess that makes Thanos risk everything?" A solemn expression appeared on the golden face of Ayesha, the Sovereign High Priestess.

"If The Collector of the Land of Nihility's information is correct," said Stakar Ogord, the first leader of the Raiders Alliance, who had a 'Stallone' face, "that Blue Planet person has the Power Stone."

——————

At the same time, a golden light was rapidly traversing the Universe; Captain Marvel Carol Danvers was flying at extreme speed towards Titan.

She always remembered that when she was patrolling the Universe before, Fury had urgently contacted her to return to S.W.O.R.D.'s space station.

When she returned to the space station, Fury still maintained his posture of facing the window with his back to everyone, and beside him was Talos, the Skrull leader who occasionally impersonated him.

The first thing Fury said when he saw Carol was, "Chen Tian is very dangerous, more dangerous than anyone."

He continued, "The collapse of S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Council, on the surface, was inextricably linked to HYDRA's invasion, but I can feel that behind all of this, that kid named Chen Tian must have played a catalytic role. One could even say that Steve's intelligence theft, HYDRA's attack on Pegasus Institute, and even the Chitauri invasion, he calculated all of it."

Fury turned around, his single eye glinting with complex light. "The most terrifying thing is," his deep voice echoed in the space station, "every single thing he did perfectly skirted the edge of the law. After S.H.I.E.L.D. disbanded, the Arbitrators indeed became the only superhero organization capable of maintaining order."

Talos nodded, adding, "We Skrulls investigated; all evidence points to HYDRA, but there are always some... overly convenient coincidences."

Carol frowned, "So you're saying this Chen Tian wants that so-called Arbitrators to become the only Sword of Damocles hanging over the Blue Planet?" Her tone carried clear disdain.

"You could say that, Carol." Fury suddenly smiled. "He's smarter than all of us. He saw through the rules by which this World operates, and then... gave it a gentle push." He walked to the holographic projection, pulling up a timeline of major events on the Blue Planet over the past few years. "Look at these nodes. After each crisis, the Arbitrators' power expanded a bit. This isn't a conspiracy, Carol, this is... a genius political maneuver."

Talos leaned against the control panel. "That Chen Tian... he's like a ticking time bomb, but we can't defuse him."

Fury stood before the holographic projection, a three-dimensional image of the Blue Planet slowly rotating before him: "More precisely, Tony Stark wouldn't allow anyone to defuse this bomb."

Carol crossed her arms, photon energy flickering around her: "Sounds like you're describing a schemer, not a Guardian."

"That's the most ironic part," Fury turned around, a complex glint in his single eye, "He truly is protecting Earth—in his own way."

Talos added, "The problem is, now the Arbitrators have become an indispensable force on Earth. If something happens to Chen Tian..." He paused meaningfully, "Tony Stark would turn half the Earth upside down to find someone to settle the score with."

"So you want me to be this dangerous person's bodyguard?" Carol's voice was full of sarcasm.

Fury shook his head: "We want you to ensure the Blue Planet doesn't descend into chaos because of one person's Death. As for Chen Tian himself..." He gave a meaningful look, "I suggest you remain vigilant—anyone who earns such trust from Tony Stark is usually more dangerous than an alien invasion."

Carol's thoughts returned to reality. She took a deep breath, and the golden light around her suddenly shifted to a blazing orange-red, blazing a dazzling trail through the Universe like a supernova explosion.

Her flight speed once again broke the limit, the surrounding Nebula twisting into streams of light around her.

——————

Titan's outer space orbit.

Whispers passed through the communication channels of various civilizations: fear, shock, curiosity... countless emotions intertwined.

No one dared to approach the battlefield, but no one wanted to miss this battle that could change the cosmic pattern.

—Because everyone knew that today, either Thanos's prestige would once again awe the Universe, or... a new legend would be born here.

Inside Sanctuary I's command hall, Thanos sat on his floating throne. Supergiant knelt on one knee, "My Master, Titan scans show Chen Tian with his three followers, awaiting at the circular plaza. No ambush within a hundred miles."

Only Supergiant remained of the Black Order—Cull Obsidian and Proxima Midnight died by Chen Tian's hand, Ebony Maw perished to Uchiha Madara, and Black Dwarf was killed by Hulk and Thor working together.

Thanos's brow furrowed slightly. He slowly rose, his heavy armor emitting a metallic scraping sound. The entire command hall fell into an eerie silence; all Black Order members held their breath, awaiting the tyrant's wrath.

However—

"Hahaha!" Thanos suddenly burst into laughter, laughing so heartily that tears welled in his eyes.

"Good! A truly good Chen Tian!" He wiped away the tears from his eyes, his voice filled with admiration. "If anyone else dared to be so presumptuous, I would say they were utterly foolish. But Chen Tian..." A glint flashed in Thanos's eyes. "He is telling me—'Thanos, I am right here, openly waiting for you to fight.'"

Supergiant cautiously asked, "My Master, could this be some kind of trick?"

Thanos waved his hand: "No, Supergiant, this is precisely his brilliance." He walked to the holographic projection; the surface image of Titan unfolded, four light points particularly conspicuous. "He knows I will be suspicious, will hesitate, will believe this must be a trap. So he simply does nothing—this is the most perfect psychological tactic."

He turned to look at the outline of Titan outside the viewport, a smile of appreciation playing on his lips: "Give the order: the Outriders legion and the Chitauri legion are to hold their positions. The Black Order will land with me. Since he is so forthright, how can I, Thanos, not treat him with courtesy? If he is willing to hand over the Power Stone, or even join us, this battle can be avoided."

"What if he refuses?" Supergiant asked.

Thanos donned his helmet, his voice cold and filled with murderous intent: "Then let him witness the price of refusing Thanos." He strode towards the landing craft. "All forces prepare for battle, but do not make a move until I give the signal."

——————

On Titan's circular plaza, Chen Tian sat on a broken step, his fingers lightly tapping his knee.

Bayonetta elegantly crossed her legs, her red lips slightly curved: "It seems our guest likes to make an entrance~" She gazed at the dense points of light from the fleet in the sky, her tone as relaxed as if she were enjoying a fireworks show.

Kiana looked up, the vast starlight reflected in her clear blue eyes: "Wow... this is too exaggerated, isn't it? Did Thanos bring the entire Universe's army?"

"Ah—so boring." Saitama yawned, the dim sunlight of Titan reflecting off his bald head. "How long do we have to wait until we can start fighting?"

Chen Tian chuckled, reaching out to ruffle Kiana's White hair: "Don't be nervous, quantity is never the key to victory." He then winked at Saitama: "Be patient, Saitama My Lord. Courtesy before force; I also want to meet this legendary Titan tyrant."

Suddenly, the Shadow of Sanctuary I enveloped the entire plaza, the roar of its engines shaking the ground violently. Thanos's landing craft slammed down a hundred meters away like a meteorite, kicking up a massive cloud of dust.

From within the dust, Thanos's tall, purple figure slowly emerged. He was clad in golden armor, his double-bladed sword held in hand, gleaming coldly. Supergiant followed closely behind, her silver hair whipping in the wind.

"Chen Tian." Thanos's voice was like distant thunder. "I have wanted to meet you for a long time."

Chen Tian remained seated on the broken steps, lazily waving his hand: "Yo, Thanos, I've heard much about you. I've wanted to meet you too, after all... your subordinates really can't take a hit."

Unexpectedly, Thanos did not get angry; instead, he nodded slightly. He slowly walked forward, planting his double-bladed sword into the ground. "Young man, your courage is commendable." His deep voice echoed across the plaza. "I did not come here solely for revenge—hand over the Power Stone, join my ranks, and I will not hold your actions against my fallen subordinates."

Bayonetta's red lips curved into a playful arc, Kiana nervously gripped the weapon in her hand, while Saitama boredly counted the warships in the sky.

"Oh?" Chen Tian raised an eyebrow, shifting into a more comfortable sitting position. "Sounds like a good offer. But..." He tilted his head, "Did you forget that you're the one who's been causing trouble?"

Thanos's gaze fixed on Chen Tian, then passed over him, looking towards Titan's barren horizon: "Do you know why I do this? The Universe's resources are finite, yet life expands infinitely. I once witnessed my homeland's destruction due to over-exploitation." He removed his helmet. "Collecting the Infinity Stones is to achieve balance—randomly erasing half of all life, allowing the remaining to continue."

"Wow oh..." Chen Tian clapped exaggeratedly. "What a touching savior complex." He suddenly dropped his smile, his eyes sharp. "But have you ever considered that the half who survive will live forever in the pain of losing their loved ones?"

Thanos said in a deep voice, "This is a necessary sacrifice."

"Ha!" Chen Tian suddenly stood up, patting the dust off his pants. "You know what? I hate self-proclaimed saviors like you the most." He stretched, "You wave noble banners, but you commit the cruelest acts."

He looked up, his eyes playful, "Or are you just trying to offer a gift to your Goddess, Death?"

Thanos's eyes suddenly turned dangerous, veins bulging on his purple face. He slowly put his helmet back on; the clang of metal was jarringly loud in the silent plaza.

"So... there's nothing to discuss?" Thanos's voice was as low as a volcano about to erupt.

Chen Tian shrugged, a cynical smile on his lips: "Of course not~ I wouldn't want to contribute to your 'simp' endeavor."

Though Thanos didn't understand the exact meaning of 'simp,' his intuition told him it wasn't a good word. He violently pulled his double-bladed sword from the ground.

"Then let the war begin." Thanos's voice was like the God of Death's pronouncement. "After you die, I will slaughter all life on the Blue Planet—this is my 'mercy' to you."

Chen Tian sneered, a dangerous glint in his eyes: "Heh, how merciful." His voice was filled with undisguised mockery, "A gift package of genocide personally bestowed by My Lord Thanos?"

Thanos said no more. He raised his double-bladed sword, and a purple energy pulse shot skyward. In an instant, countless warships in space poured down like a torrential rain—Chitauri flyers, Outriders landing pods, Black Order assault ships, densely covering the entire sky. The ground began to tremble as countless alien warriors surged from all directions, the clang of metal and battle roars deafening.

"Wow oh..." Chen Tian looked at the increasingly dense enemy forces, the smile on his face growing brighter.

Chen Tian waved his hand, and a dazzling blue light suddenly flared behind him, space twisting like Water ripples.

Accompanied by the roar of machinery, a colossal, pure White mobile suit slowly materialized—Wing Zero Gundam EW descended upon the battlefield with a commanding presence.

Its slender body was covered in streamlined armor, four mechanical wings like Angel feathers unfolded on its back, the V-fin antenna on its head gleamed with dangerous red light, and the energy core in its chest pulsed with blue light like a heart. The mobile suit's arms were equipped with its iconic twin buster rifles, and giant beam sabers hung at its waist, every joint exuding a mechanical beauty of extreme precision. When its wings were fully extended, its wingspan reached an astonishing 20 meters, like a mechanical Angel descended from myth.

"Kiana, get in the Gundam. You and Saitama go deal with those warships."

A hint of worry flashed in Kiana's clear blue eyes: "Commander, what about you?" Chen Tian's lips curved into a dangerous arc as he extended his right hand towards Bayonetta: "Of course, I'll be with Miss Bayonetta..." He turned to look at the witch beside him, who was lightly licking the barrel of her gun with her scarlet tongue, "...dancing a dance of slaughter."

Bayonetta let out a silvery laugh at his words, her perfect body, clad in a black catsuit, leaning back slightly. She suddenly executed a graceful turn, her Colour My World Magic Spear shimmering with iridescent light: "My dear, I've been waiting for this dance for far too long~"
