Chapter 202 - Time Bet: Dominic's Choice

"...He's gone?" Deadpool crawled out of the rubble, shaking his dusty swords. "That guy runs faster than me, how boring."

Dominic stood rooted to the spot, his brows deeply furrowed. He watched the direction Rama-Tut had disappeared in and said in a low voice, "He's giving us a warning."

"Yeah, that is—'You can't do it, give up,' right?" Tony walked over, his tone full of sarcasm.

"Don't be so quick to jump to conclusions." Strange spoke slowly, his expression solemn. "We need to understand more of his weaknesses, not just look at his apparent strength."

Dominic's fists slowly clenched, his gaze as dark as an abyss. He glanced back at the others. "He's right, we're simply not strong enough right now."

"Oh, come on, are you telling me the guy in the ancient Egyptian cosplay outfit is more trouble than Thanos?" Deadpool muttered, adjusting his crooked mask. "I don't believe he can pull any new tricks."

Tony leaned against the broken wall, his fingers lightly tapping the display screen on his Iron Gauntlet. "Don't underestimate him. Clearly, his skill in manipulating time is more refined than any enemy we've encountered before. He not only saw through our every step in advance but also knew our team's background like the back of his hand."

"What should we do now?" Miles panted, clutching his web-shooters. "He talks as if we've already lost."

"Of course, we haven't lost yet." Strange stepped forward, his cloak slightly billowing. "But he is indeed warning us that all our actions must be more cautious. A master of time is not an easy enemy to deal with."

Peter sighed and shrugged. "So, we don't even have a plan now?"

"Who says?" Deadpool immediately jumped up and clapped his hands. "We have me! With me, there are infinite possibilities."

"Infinite possibilities dying halfway?" Loki sneered, lightly tapping his lips with his finger. "You think you're doing heroic deeds, but in reality, your naivety will only lead to destruction."

Dominic turned his head, his tone calm but carrying undeniable power. "Loki, if you truly look down on us this much, it's not too late to leave now."

Loki opened his mouth, seeming to want to retort, but ultimately fell silent. His gaze swept over everyone around him, especially the unconscious Thor, and finally said coldly, "I'm staying, not because I trust you, but because this concerns my fate."

"Great, another teammate with ulterior motives." Tony rolled his eyes. "This is more complicated than I imagined."

"Complexity is also our style." Strange's gaze was firm. "Since he can control time, we need to find a way to break his power. This requires wisdom, strategy, and... enough patience."

Dominic nodded. "No matter the outcome, we must persevere. Rama-Tut is not invincible."

"Right, like he said, fate is already written." Deadpool jumped into the middle of the crowd, making a frame with his fingers. "But the good news is, we can tear up the script and write a grand finale—Deadpool saves the Universe! How about that, doesn't that sound dramatic?"

"Stop fooling around, Deadpool." Logan gritted his teeth, clenching his claws. "We still have a lot to sort out, instead of listening to your nonsense."

"Oh, come on, Logan, admit it—I'm the soul of this play." Deadpool grinned playfully. "If you don't believe me, I can ask the screenwriter to add a few lines for me in the script."

The others looked at Deadpool helplessly, a hint of bitter laughter mixed in the weary atmosphere. Even when facing an enemy like Rama-Tut, they knew that as long as the team was still together, they wouldn't give up easily.

When Dominic found Strange, the latter was standing on a high platform at the temporary Asgard settlement, overlooking the camp under construction. In the swirling dust, Asgardian warriors were busy transporting building materials, while refugees were setting up temporary shelters for their new lives. Strange stood with his hands behind his back, his cloak slightly raised, appearing somewhat detached.

"You were looking for me?" Strange turned around, raising an eyebrow, watching Dominic approaching step by step.

Dominic stopped in front of him, his face bearing his usual determination and confidence. "I need your help."

Strange's eyes showed a hint of curiosity. He sized up the other man. "My help? I'm guessing you don't want me to open a portal to send you to some bar."

Dominic smiled faintly. "I need time. To be precise, I need more time to grow stronger."

Strange's gaze tightened slightly. His intuition told him this request was not simple. "Go on."

Dominic looked directly into Strange's eyes, not avoiding them at all. "Use the Time Stone to create an environment where I can train for a year, while only one day passes outside."

Strange was silent for a moment, then frowned. "That's impossible. Do you understand what you're saying? The power of the Time Stone is not for fulfilling personal ambition or desire. It is the absolute power to control the flow of time, not your private gym."

"I never said this was for personal gain." Dominic's tone was calm, but every word was firm. "I am constantly growing stronger, that is a fact. And we are now facing Rama-Tut. He is not just an enemy; he is a being who controls time. Only by becoming stronger can I stand in front of everyone and win this war."

Strange narrowed his eyes. "Your obsession with power sounds familiar. May I ask, will doing this cause you to lose yourself?"

"Growing stronger every day is my belief." Dominic did not waver in the slightest. "This is my only path, and I only believe in this."

Strange sighed softly. "You know, science tells us that the human body has limits. Forcing yourself to break through them might make you pay a price. The cumulative effect of time on the body cannot be ignored."

"Unless," Strange's gaze shifted slightly, his tone lowering, "you are no longer human."

Dominic's lips curved slightly upward. "That's not important. What's important is that I can bear any price to achieve my goal."

Strange looked at the other man and finally shook his head. "So, your plan is to enter a similar environment and complete a year's worth of training in what is only one day outside? You want me to use the Time Stone to create such a space for you?"

"Exactly." Dominic nodded, his tone decisive.

Strange pondered for a moment, his fingers tracing lines in the air. A faint light shimmered between his fingers. "This isn't something I've done before. But theoretically... perhaps it's possible. Come with me, I need to confirm some things in the library."

As soon as he finished speaking, Strange raised his hand and drew a portal. The familiar golden ring unfolded before them, revealing a mysterious library filled with ancient texts and mystical scrolls on the other side.

Dominic stepped through the light gate without hesitation, his figure disappearing into the golden ripples. Strange's cloak billowed behind him. He took one last look at the distant Asgard camp, sighed softly, and then followed Dominic, disappearing into the other side of the portal.

The moment the portal closed, the hustle and bustle of the temporary Asgard settlement seemed to be shut out. The silence and heavy atmosphere of the library washed over them. Strange walked ahead of Dominic, waving his hands. The bookshelves automatically parted, and a scroll covered in complex runes floated into his hand.

"If it can be done, it won't be without cost." Strange opened the scroll and said casually, "You might find that the cost of time passing isn't just your body's endurance, but also your mind. Being in an accelerated time flow for a long time might change your perception of reality."

"If that's the price, I'll pay it." Dominic's answer was without hesitation.

Strange looked back at him, his eyes complex. Finally, he nodded slightly and continued to flip through the scroll in his hand. "I hope you won't regret it."
