Boom!
The boulder shattered under the chakra fist, breaking into pieces that sprayed in all directions, falling like rain…
"Interesting—about thirty percent of Eighty Gods Vacuum Fists' flavor."
With his Byakugan, Kageyama Kogetsu carefully traced the chakra flow within Ōtsutsuki Ryōsui and thought to himself.
"Earthling, die!"
Weaving nimbly through the rain of stone, Ryōsui lunged out snarling. After closing the gap, he launched another Divine Sky Strike.
Facing the incoming blue chakra giant fist, Kogetsu advanced instead of retreating. Golden light flashed in his right eye—the fist vanished without a trace!
"This…"
Ryōsui froze for a heartbeat.
Kogetsu rushed in and hammered fists and palms straight at him. Ryōsui hastily parried.
A few exchanges later, Kogetsu found an opening. Ryōsui was blasted away, tumbling like a rubber ball and smashing several rocks.
"Hey, is taijutsu all you've got? No other tools?"
"Pft…"
Ryōsui spat blood, wiped his mouth, and pushed himself up, eyes wild with fatal resolve.
"Hmph, who needs ninjutsu?"
"The world the Sage of Six Paths created is a failure. Ninjutsu is the source of its calamities."
Kogetsu shook his head inwardly. This one was beyond saving—the Branch Family's extremism had sunk deep.
He couldn't save him. Maybe Naruto could have talked him down.
"Keheheh… maybe you're right. But isn't chaos the paradise of the ambitious?"
"Chaos is the ladder."
Since he couldn't be saved, Kogetsu chose to provoke him the other way—laughing loud, face arrogant, eyes blazing with ruthless ambition, the very picture of a final boss.
"Earthlings born evil—then I'll personally…"
"Sukunahikona!"
Kogetsu had heard enough. He wasn't an Uchiha; he cut him off with a technique at once.
Schlick!
A black rod sprouted through Ryōsui's abdomen—blood sprayed, staining his clothes.
"Urgh…"
Ryōsui grunted, features twisting in pain. He glanced down at the wound, then glared back up.
"That wicked eye of yours—its ability?"
"Evil earthling, I will erase you!"
He reached with his left hand and yanked the black rod straight out—blood fountained, his method crude.
With his right, he tapped points across his chest—swift, practiced. As for the belly wound, he didn't bother to seal it.
Boom!
A torrent of chakra erupted from Ryōsui like a Super Saiyan transformation, blue chakra raging around him. A shockwave swept the dust into a storm.
"Neat—pressure-pointing to unlock the body's potential, releasing the inner gates. Similar to the Eight Gates."
"But with your current condition, once you burst, you're done."
Under the Byakugan's gaze, Ryōsui's aberrations lay bare, yet Kogetsu remained calm.
"Whether I die doesn't matter—so long as you do!"
Ryōsui roared, murderous. His flaring chakra drew tight. He stamped; the ground fissured wide, and he streaked forth like a bolt…
"Well then—I guess I'm really the final boss."
Kogetsu smiled faintly and flashed out too. The ground didn't even show a footprint, much less crack.
"I mustn't touch him—his ability is too strange…"
Ryōsui decided and went all in.
Hamura Divine Fist · Ten Divine Sky Strikes!
Ten incarnate blue chakra arms fired with his rapid palms. Air compressed in an instant, turning the space ahead to mire and making evasion far harder.
Gentle Fist · Fire Demon Fists · Barrage!
Kogetsu transmuted his chakra to fire-nature. Torrents exploded from his palms…
Blazing, molten-colored fists surged to meet them, terrifying heat reddening the void and burning away that mire of air.
Boom—boom—boom—
Deep blue fists and gold-red fists collided midair. Each clash cracked like thunder.
The ground fractured in broad sheets; shockwaves raged out, a gray-black storm shredding stones to grit within seconds.
"Moon-dweller steeped in evil, decent power—but not enough."
At the storm's heart, Kogetsu brushed dust from his shoulder, unruffled.
Shocked within, Ryōsui sneered to save face. "The next strike will finish you!"
"Oh."
That casual reply and airy contempt snapped his temper; he whipped all his chakra to the fore.
"With your condition, if the next strike doesn't kill me—you won't get another."
"Hmph—take this!"
Hamura Divine Fist · Twenty Divine Sky Strikes!
The blue chakra arms doubled, everything else the same—but the power more than doubled, surging exponentially.
Twenty arms filled a swath of sky; the air seemed to congeal; the heavens trembled along their path—nearly a taste of Eighty Gods Vacuum Fists.
Gentle Fist · Destruction Fists · Barrage!
With exquisite control, Kogetsu fused wind, fire, and lightning—the most aggressive natures—into his fists.
The three natures became one in each punch. His hands blurred; tri-colored fist-shadows blanketed the sky and shook the void!
Boom—boom—boom—
The crashes fell like relentless thunder, louder, more crushing. The scene repeated—on an even grander scale.
From the shinobi world, one could have seen oddities glimmering on the moon.
This time, there was one difference—Ryōsui was the one blown away.
Kogetsu had stopped holding back and added two more punches at full output.
"Pft…"
Ryōsui smashed through a small ridge and finally stopped, bent double as he spewed a mouthful of blood studded with bits of viscera.
"Earthling born evil—I will kill you…"
Murmuring through bloody lips, he sacrificed himself outright—his body turned to ash, nothing left.
At the heart of Hamura's shrine, the great golden Tenseigan flared under Ryōsui's desperate urging. A thick golden chakra beam lanced out, boring through all obstacles, straight toward Kogetsu…
"Hmph—futile thrashings."
A black-crimson space–time vortex bloomed behind him. Kogetsu stepped back into it.
The golden beam was fast, but the distance was long. It couldn't strike before the gateway sealed.
Shrrk—
The beam tore open the ground, burrowing deep, carving like tofu, and punched out the far side—catching the attention of many in the world below.
It was only attention. Without the cavern route, Earth's people couldn't reach the moon.
Even the Sage of Six Paths couldn't—not without a body again. A soul alone couldn't endure such a long-range space–time transfer.
"Tsk tsk, that hit was nasty. If I'd eaten it, I'd have been down to fumes."
Kogetsu stepped out of the black-crimson vortex, peering into the bottomless bore with a click of his tongue.
"With the nuisance gone—it's harvest season."
Smiling, eyes bright with anticipation, Kogetsu flew toward Hamura's shrine…
