Chapter 17 - The Eve of Farewell

Under Xiao Wu's feet, her first spirit ring lit up.

"First Spirit Ability, Waist Bow!"

Whoosh! Her scorpion braid wrapped around Tang San's neck, and he was lifted off the ground.

Xiao Wu had her back to him, kicking back with one foot, stepping on his waist, and using it as a pivot, Tang San was sent flying upside down.

When he came to his senses, he tried to untangle the braid from his neck, but it was already too late; he could only watch helplessly as the ground got closer and closer!

Bang!

"Ah!" Tang San screamed. This time, Xiao Wu held back no strength at all, and he felt as if all the bones in his body were aching.

Before he could even process it, the feeling of weightlessness struck again.

"First Spirit Ability! Waist Bow!"

Tang San's pupils contracted. 'Is Xiao Wu really trying to kill me?'

Bang, bang, bang!

Ignoring his thoughts, Xiao Wu mechanically used her first Spirit Ability repeatedly.

Ye Qiu had just finished pulling off the Blue Silver Grass from his body when he suddenly felt a chill and a sense of trepidation. 'It's him! He's nearby!'

He quickly called out, his voice a little urgent, "Enough, Xiao Wu!"

Slap! He grabbed Xiao Wu's wrist. "Let's just forget about it."

"But Xiao Qiu…"

"Enough, don't say another word!" Ye Qiu tightened his grip on her wrist, making it red.

Xiao Wu winced slightly and looked at Ye Qiu curiously.

Tang San, lying on the ground, had already fainted, and several of his bones might have been broken.

"Wang Sheng, you guys carry Tang San to the bed!" Ye Qiu shouted at them.

But they remained motionless.

Only after Xiao Wu glared at them did they react. "Okay, okay!"

Xiao Wu didn't care what they did with Tang San. She wrapped her arms around Ye Qiu's arm, tilting her head up, "What's wrong?"

He didn't answer her, only patted her head. The Spirit beneath his black hair quietly activated, and he focused his attention, his gaze penetrating the walls, looking around.

Only after confirming there was nothing unusual did Ye Qiu finally breathe a sigh of relief.

Noticing his unusual behavior, Xiao Wu reached out her delicate hand and placed it on his forehead. "Xiao Qiu, are you not feeling well? Did you get hurt somewhere?"

"It's nothing, I just want some peace and quiet."

"Who is Jingjing?" Xiao Wu pouted. She had given Tang San a severe beating, and Xiao Qiu hadn't even praised her.

He gave a wry smile and didn't answer her, feeling a bit exhausted. 'She's truly a silly rabbit with such a big heart!'

Seeing that Wang Sheng and the others had almost settled Tang San, Ye Qiu was about to tell someone to call Grandmaster.

Bang, bang, bang!

Just then, the dormitory door was pounded like raindrops, indicating that the person outside was definitely not in a good mood.

After knocking for a long time without getting an answer, an angry voice rang out, "Xiao Wu! Quickly tell them to open the door!"

Wang Sheng and the others recognized the voice but dared not step forward.

"Yu Xiaogang?" Ye Qiu murmured. Sure enough! He hadn't misjudged; Tang Hao was nearby just now! Otherwise, how could Yu Xiaogang have known about Tang San's accident so quickly?

Without much hesitation, Ye Qiu was about to step forward and open the door. "Xiao Qiu…" Xiao Wu's worried voice stopped him.

He gave her a reassuring look.

He opened the door, facing the situation calmly.

What met his eyes was Yu Xiaogang, dressed in a scholar's robe. His usual poker face was now contorted in a furious glare, with a hint of terror in his eyes!

He was still panting heavily, showing how quickly he had arrived.

Yu Xiaogang didn't want to run so desperately, but he couldn't help it!

He was originally reading quietly in his room when he unexpectedly found that his idol, Clear Sky Douluo, had come knocking again!

He was told that his disciple, his future golden signboard, had been knocked unconscious by a little girl.

Upon receiving the news, he didn't dare delay and immediately rushed over.

After much effort knocking for a while, the door finally opened!

"What are you doing? Are you trying to rebel?!" He looked at Wang Sheng and the others huddled together inside, furious!

His eyes swept past Ye Qiu and landed on Xiao Wu, about to reprimand her.

"Tang San is over there!" Ye Qiu was too lazy to listen to his nonsense and pointed to Tang San lying unconscious on the bed.

"Little San!" Yu Xiaogang saw the figure lying flat on the bed and rushed over anxiously.

"Little San, Little San!" He shook him vigorously but saw no movement, and terror gradually filled his mind.

He was just a useless person cast out of his family, a swindler expelled from Spirit Hall by the Holy Maiden, a fool abandoned by his cousin, but he didn't want to die after being ridiculed for most of his life; he wanted to prove himself to the world!

"Damn it! How dare you? If anything happens to Little San, all of you will pay for it!" He glared fiercely at Xiao Wu, his eyes bloodshot, spitting saliva.

"Hmph! He was the one who attacked first!" Xiao Wu wasn't afraid of him, just a 29-level useless old man.

"Grandmaster, don't worry, he should have only broken a few bones. Taking him to a healing Spirit Master early should be fine."

Ye Qiu tugged at Xiao Wu's sleeve, telling her not to speak anymore, and told Yu Xiaogang to take Tang San away!

Hearing Ye Qiu's words, Yu Xiaogang finally recovered a bit. After checking Tang San's neck, he relaxed.

The wind outside blew, and he couldn't help but shiver, his back already soaked with sweat.

"Hmph! It better be, or none of you will escape!" He left a harsh warning, and without time to say more, he carried Tang San away.

Ye Qiu looked out at the night. Beside the rapidly departing Yu Xiaogang, there seemed to be a black figure, making it hard to see clearly.

"Xiao Qiu, why don't we leave Notting College?" While Ye Qiu was still staring blankly outside, Xiao Wu's voice came from beside him.

'Leave? Where to? Can we even leave?' He didn't say much, pulling her into his embrace. "Don't worry, get some rest early. It'll be fine in a few days."

"Mm," Xiao Wu replied softly. She didn't know what Ye Qiu was thinking, but all she could do was trust him.

Late at night, the lights in Dorm Seven went out. Everyone else was already asleep, but Ye Qiu couldn't fall asleep.

'Because of this incident, Tang Hao will definitely see me as an obstacle. My days by Xiao Wu's side are numbered!'

"Xiao Wu?"

Ye Qiu, who was still pondering things, suddenly noticed that Xiao Wu, who was next to him, had gotten up.

She tiptoed to Ye Qiu's bed and unceremoniously climbed in.

Xiao Wu leaned in, hugging his neck, squeezing into his arms, and burrowing her head.

"Xiao Qiu~ It's been a long time since we've laid like this! Hug me… okay?"

Her sweet voice was refreshing.

His originally stiff body and troubled heart were greatly soothed.

Holding the soft girl in his arms, their eyes met.

Perhaps he should go to the Hunting Soul Forest. Without a Spirit Ability, his safety had no guarantee whatsoever.

In a situation like today, he still had to rely on Xiao Wu to act.

He had already made up his mind that even if something happened to him, he would never let anything happen to Xiao Wu. Sacrificing oneself was out of the question!

Ye Qiu certainly didn't like the idea of a deceased wife's spirit ring.

As he was still contemplating his plans for tomorrow, he felt a soft, familiar touch on his lips.

After a few breaths, Xiao Wu's voice rang out again.

"Xiao Qiu~ Get some rest early~ Xiao Wu will always be with you!"

"Mm."
