Chapter 132 - Broadcast Gymnastics and Guini’s Too Beautiful

"From now on, if anything comes up, just contact me directly."

On the path outside the dormitory building, Huo Yuhao walked side by side with Zhu Lu.

"Alright." Zhu Lu nodded.

"Huo Yuhao!"

Suddenly, a pleasantly surprised voice came from a distance. The two looked up to see a young boy with short, soft pink-blue hair running toward them.

His fair, handsome face was full of a smile—but when he saw Zhu Lu standing next to Huo Yuhao, his expression changed slightly, as if he hadn't expected her to be there.

"Well, well—Fluttering Moth, you're back?"

Huo Yuhao's eyes lit up with joy.

"Fluttering Moth?" Wang Dong froze for a moment, then immediately wrinkled his delicate nose and flew up with a kick toward Huo Yuhao.

Haotian Shadowless Kick!

Zhu Lu's expression turned cold. Instinctively, her professional instincts kicked in, and she was about to step in front of Huo Yuhao.

But Huo Yuhao patted her shoulder lightly, signaling her to stay where she was.

At that moment, Zhu Lu suddenly felt a heavy pressure pinning her in place, unable to move. Huo Yuhao's right hand, meanwhile, flared with a soft ice-blue light—his fist became crystalline like carved glass as he swung it forward gently.

Bang!

When fist and foot collided, the resulting shockwave directly sent Wang Dong sliding several meters backward. His eyes were wide in disbelief, staring at Huo Yuhao as if he'd just seen a ghost.

The brief clash immediately caught the attention of others nearby. Since the new students were still undergoing their entrance assessments, everyone passing by was an upperclassman.

Normally, when students sparred, people just watched for fun—but once they recognized Huo Yuhao's face, they all froze in shock.

Instantly, everyone stepped back in perfect unison, afraid that he might release his hundred-thousand-year soul ring and scare them half to death.

"Y-you—you…"

Wang Dong pointed at Huo Yuhao, lips trembling.

"What you, what you—just one month apart and you don't recognize me anymore?" Huo Yuhao said cheerfully.

Wang Dong came closer, looking him up and down carefully before blurting out in surprise, "In terms of strength, I actually lost to you just now. That's impossible—did you, like, turn on cheat mode?"

"Would your brother even need cheats to beat you?" Huo Yuhao shook his head.

The term 'cheat mode' was something Huo Yuhao himself had taught him. After all, Douluo Continent didn't have such slang.

Wang Dong suddenly deflated—his high spirits wilting like a frostbitten eggplant.

All that crazed training over the past month suddenly felt meaningless.

"Right… why's she following you?" Wang Dong suddenly grabbed Huo Yuhao's collar and whispered, faces barely thirty centimeters apart.

He didn't realize that from an outsider's point of view, that pose looked… rather intimate.

The watching students froze, eyes wide. Regardless of gender, everyone now had that unmistakable gossip sparkle in their gaze.

How exciting.

Zhu Lu opened her mouth, then quietly closed it again.

"She's our friend now," Huo Yuhao said.

"Friend?" Wang Dong glanced sideways at Zhu Lu, standing gracefully nearby.

"By the way, isn't this posture of ours a bit too close? People might get the wrong idea," Huo Yuhao said helplessly.

Wang Dong blinked, glanced around, and noticed all those grinning faces watching them. Looking down at his hand gripping Huo Yuhao's collar, his cheeks instantly flushed red, and he quickly let go.

"Let me reintroduce you—this is Zhu Lu."

Zhu Lu gave a polite self-introduction, though everyone already knew her.

As the saying goes, 'You don't hit someone who greets you with a smile'—so although Wang Dong still felt uneasy, he greeted her with a faint smile.

"You guys talk; I'll get going first." Zhu Lu, aware of Wang Dong's hostility, smiled and took her leave.

Wang Dong watched her go, then whispered to Huo Yuhao, "You sure you're not into someone else's girlfriend?"

Huo Yuhao froze, giving him a puzzled look.

Wang Dong just burst out laughing and ran toward the dormitory.

Huo Yuhao could only shrug helplessly and follow.

The crowd of spectators, their fun over, dispersed reluctantly.

Back in the dorm, Wang Dong couldn't stop talking—chattering endlessly.

Huo Yuhao simply smiled, listening patiently and responding occasionally.

If Da Ming and Er Ming were here, they'd be shocked. The once quiet Wang Dong from the sect, who rarely spoke to peers, was now a total chatterbox.

As the new semester began, Shrek Academy's admission period came to an end. This year's intake was about a hundred fewer than the previous year's.

But that was the new students' business. The second-year students—especially Class One and Class Two—were about to face their upcoming soul beast combat assessments.

Early the next morning—

Compared to the energetic first-years who even ran to breakfast, the older students were calm and slow, perfectly timing their arrival.

Wang Dong, for once, didn't make Huo Yuhao bring him food.

After eating, the two went to report to their classroom, now located on the second floor.

The moment they entered, every gaze turned their way.

Every student in Class One had trained under Huo Yuhao's soul ring pressure—they all held deep respect for him.

"Good morning, Class Monitor!"

The entire class stood up in greeting, like a group of little brothers saluting their gang boss.

Among them, Zhou Sichén and Cao Jinxuan were the most enthusiastic—typical noble-borns who knew all about social niceties.

Huo Yuhao smiled and returned the greeting, perfectly in character as their leader.

Originally, Class One had seventy-five members, but with Dai Huabin expelled, seventy-four remained.

"Wang Dong, Class Monitor—over here!" Xiao Xiao, looking even cuter after a month, waved them over. Her height hadn't changed at all—one might even wonder how she ever became 1.7 meters tall later on.

Wang Dong hurried over and ruffled her hair like she was a pet.

Xiao Xiao twitched her lips as Wang Dong chuckled. "Do you know how long I've been wanting to do that? A whole month!"

Before long, all seventy-four were present.

Zhu Lu stood with Cui Yajie, while Wu Feng arrived alone—very different from the provocative version in the original story. This one greeted Huo Yuhao politely.

"Teacher's coming—quiet down."

As the chatter filled the room, Huo Yuhao's calm but soul-powered voice cut through it.

Instantly, silence.

A moment later, two figures descended the steps toward the podium: Wang Yan and Mu Jin.

Apparently pleased by the orderliness, both smiled. Wang Yan stepped up and said, "Haven't seen you all in a month, but your energy looks good. That's worth praising."

The class smiled slightly.

"Today afternoon," Wang Yan continued, "Classes One and Two will go to the Beast Battle Arena for your promotion assessment. Listen carefully to the rules."

"First, when choosing a soul beast to challenge, don't pick one far above or far below your level. Too strong, and you'll struggle—or even risk your life—and your score will drop. Too weak, and the fight will be meaningless, and your score will also drop. Choose within a balanced range."

"Second, you'll be graded by senior teachers—maximum score, 100; passing is 60."

"Third, grading criteria differ: Assault-type students are judged on dodging, attacking, and possibly defeating the soul beast. Control-type students are judged on control duration and effect, as well as defense and precision."

"Fourth, remember—soul beasts, even captured ones, still crave blood and flesh. If you panic or retreat despite having the strength to fight, you could get seriously hurt—or worse."

The word "death" made many students' legs tremble and faces pale.

"Of course," Mu Jin added softly, "you don't need to be afraid. Teachers will step in if things turn dangerous. But don't rely on that. Humans make mistakes. If we can't react in time, then… well…"

She smiled—beautifully, yet chillingly.

That was enough to make every student treat this assessment with utmost seriousness.

Wang Yan quietly gave her a thumbs-up.

In truth, the academy's safety measures were excellent. The "fear talk" was just to keep them alert.

Morning class ended early. Wang Yan dismissed them to prepare and rest before gathering in the Beast Battle Zone at noon.

Outside Shrek's East Gate—

Huo Yuhao was talking briefly with Ma Xiaotao.

Today she was going to obtain her seventh soul ring, escorted by two top powerhouses—Yan Shaozhe and Elder Song.

That alone showed her high standing in Shrek.

"Yuhao, I'm off. Wait for my good news." Ma Xiaotao smiled and waved, then followed the two elders.

A sharp whine—whoosh!—the sound of soul tool aircrafts shooting into the sky.

Huo Yuhao watched them vanish, then turned away silently.

After lunch, all 164 second-year students gathered and marched toward the Beast Battle Arena, north of campus.

The arena looked like several enormous stadiums combined. The front half housed caged soul beasts behind ten heavy iron gates; the middle was a wide battle zone with ten platforms; the rear and sides formed tiered spectator stands.

A third of Shrek City's annual tax income went into maintaining this facility—proof of its immense cost.

No wonder later, the Heaven Dou Empire gave up managing the Star Dou Forest.

Since soul beasts couldn't be kept together and maintenance costs were huge, the Beast Arena occupied more land than any other Shrek structure.

Students could even pay 100 gold soul coins to fight here for real combat training—cheaper than dying in the wild, and much safer.

Although expensive, many said it was worth it—some even broke through in cultivation after a single match.

Because of the second-year exam, the arena was temporarily closed to outsiders.

When the students arrived, two massive statues greeted them—on the left, an armored human wielding a spear; on the right, a ferocious dragon-like soul beast.

Opposing each other—locked in eternal combat.

Above them, three huge characters: Beast Battle Arena.

The building's outer walls were purposefully weathered, painted with crimson streaks resembling dried blood, creating a chilling warlike atmosphere.

Seeing it, many students felt anxiety rise.

Huo Yuhao, however, knew this place well—it was near where Dai Huabin had once been detained.

They assembled before the statues. Surrounding them were dozens of outer court teachers, including Wang Yan and Mu Jin. At the forefront stood Vice Dean Cai Mei'er, with Du Weilun beside her.

"Du Weilun," Cai Mei'er said, "let them draw their assessment order."

"Yes."

Du Weilun's voice carried power: "All students, listen. As you enter, collect your assessment form. It lists your sequence number. After your fight, return it with your name for grading."

The students moved in orderly lines, taking their forms as they entered.

At the front, Wang Yan whispered to Huo Yuhao, "Yuhao, remember—don't use your simulated ten-thousand-year soul ring. Its aura suppresses soul beasts far more than humans. You'll scare them half to death."

His quiet tone still echoed faintly.

Instantly, everyone nearby gave him odd looks.

Huo Yuhao could only nod helplessly. "Understood, Teacher Wang."

"Good."

Ten platforms meant ten battles could happen simultaneously—but to make scoring fair, fights were held one at a time.

Once inside, everyone was stunned.

Nearly twenty thousand seats surrounded ten huge platforms, each backed by a heavy iron gate. Behind them came low, rumbling growls.

The tension thickened immediately.

They all knew hundreds of captured soul beasts waited beyond those doors—some even ten-thousand-year level.

Cai Mei'er, Du Weilun, and four other judges took positions on an elevated viewing platform.

Her eyes found Huo Yuhao at the head of Class One, while Xie Huanyue, Class Two's monitor, stood opposite him.

They exchanged polite smiles.

As monitors, they'd fight first—to set an example.

Du Weilun stepped forward. "Monitors of Classes One and Two, get ready. Don't embarrass your class."

"Go, Class Monitor!"

Cheers erupted behind Huo Yuhao.

Wang Dong and Xiao Xiao clapped his shoulder, while Zhu Lu and Wu Feng smiled encouragingly.

"Go on," Wang Yan and Mu Jin said.

Huo Yuhao calmly approached the platform gate, where a teacher awaited.

"Name and specialization?"

"Huo Yuhao. Control-type."

"Alright," the teacher nodded. "Choose your soul beast. For control-type students, the test focuses on your ability to restrain the beast. You may pick any between 100 and 1,000 years old. Choose carefully—you only get one chance."

He handed Huo Yuhao a catalog.

After a glance, Huo Yuhao smiled. "That one—the Wind Ape."

"That's a thousand-year beast," the teacher blinked. "They're fierce and aggressive—many early Soul Elders lose to them. You sure?"

"Sure."

"Very well. Class One, Second Year—Huo Yuhao chooses 1,000-year Wind Ape!"

Gasps rippled through the crowd.

"One thousand years?!"

For most, facing a soul beast alone was terrifying enough—few would dare pick one that strong.

Even Wang Yan was startled. He knew Huo Yuhao's spiritual-type martial soul wasn't known for raw power, while the Wind Ape was famed for brute force.

But Huo Yuhao had already planned everything.

He stepped onto the platform. Two referees stood by. A translucent barrier of light surrounded the stage.

"Ready?"

"Yeah."

All two hundred watching eyes locked on him.

A low rumble—the iron gate began to slide open.

A bestial roar echoed.

A tall, humanoid shadow appeared.

A gust of wind swept forward, ruffling Huo Yuhao's hair.

The shadow lunged out—revealing a Wind Ape, its body covered in turquoise fur, arms long to the knees, claws sharp, eyes pitch-black, fangs jutting from its lips.

Wind swirled around its body, charged with static.

The beast's savage aura instantly locked onto Huo Yuhao. With a growl, it shot forward, claws slashing.

Huo Yuhao's left hand glowed icy blue, crystal-like. He struck out lightly—shattering the Wind Ape's energy claw.

Scattering light sparkled like dust in sunlight.

The Wind Ape charged closer, eyes gleaming with killing intent.

Their gazes met—

And suddenly, Huo Yuhao's eyes flashed with a strange, eerie glow. That light shot straight into the Wind Ape's mind.

Its body froze mid-charge—completely still.

"What's happening?"

The crowd was bewildered.

Expression calm, Huo Yuhao moved around it, then focused his mind again.

The Wind Ape stirred—then began to move.

But instead of attacking—it started… doing something else.

It raised its chest, marched in place, arms swinging front to back…

Then stretched both arms sideways, turned its head, stepped left, brought its right leg back together, bent its knees, palms together before its chest—then stretched upward again.

Left leg. Right leg.

Repeating.

Four sets total.

Everyone was dumbfounded.

Except Zhu Lu, who finally realized—this was the same technique he'd used on her before!

He could even use it like this?!

And then—Huo Yuhao suddenly conjured a bouncy ball and tossed it to the Wind Ape.

Immediately, the beast began dribbling.

Under the legs.

Everyone: "…"

After four seconds of dribbling, the Wind Ape tossed the ball aside, jumped, turned its back, bent slightly, and began shaking its shoulders rhythmically—

The entire arena fell dead silent.

"This kid…" Cai Mei'er couldn't hold it—she burst out laughing. "Weilun, just announce his pass. If we let this go on, the others will think soul beasts are harmless toys."

Du Weilun twitched at the mouth but quickly nodded. "I announce that Huo Yuhao has passed the assessment!"

On the stage, Huo Yuhao shrugged—he'd wanted to play a little longer.

With his Spiritual Control Soul Skill, whatever he imagined, the Wind Ape would mimic. The ability was incredible.

When the Wind Ape was dragged back through the gate, the crowd erupted in astonishment.

Every eye turned to Huo Yuhao—filled with awe.

Now that's a real Control-type Soul Master!

As he stepped down, Huo Yuhao smiled. "How was the performance?"

"Incredible!" everyone shouted together.

And indeed—it broke the tension completely. No one would ever forget that dancing Wind Ape.

"Soul beasts aren't easy opponents, though," Huo Yuhao reminded. "Do your best, everyone—you can do it."

He walked back calmly, while classmates parted to make way, eyes filled with respect.
