It was perfect for an ambush.
But Ryan moved through the space with Ray's muscle memory guiding him. Door on the left, kick it open, scan for hostiles. Clear. Next room. Clear. Stairs ahead.
Three guards appeared at the top of the stairwell. Ryan shot the first two, the third tried to retreat, but Kane's team was coming up from behind, the man was caught in the crossfire and went down.
"Second floor!" Matt called.
They pushed upward, encountering heavier resistance, Jasper's men had set up defensive positions in the corridor, using overturned furniture as cover.
Ryan didn't slow down. He moved with Ray's cold efficiency, his shots finding targets with mechanical accuracy. One guard. Two. Three. Four.
His men provided covering fire, their training evident in their coordinated movements. The corridor became a killing zone.
Bodies littered the floor, the smell of gunpowder and blood filled the air, Jasper's men were putting up a fight, but they were outmatched.
