Chapter 6 - Traveling to the first town

Selene decided to head back to the town with Offrey to get him to the hospital, allowing Offrey to heal and allowing herself to get to know her new companions better. The hospital shouldn't be too far away.

"Don't bother, that place is chaos at best, and a death trap at worst. I recommend the closest inn." Tobez said.

"There are no inns or anything else like that," she said, "he needs a doctor."

"No, he needs a healer and those are found in inns." Tobez said matter of factly.

Lirael giggled from beside her and skipped and flitted over to Offrey. She reached down, and a green glow grew to surround her hand. She then pressed it to his leg, the tension face eased up and the pained expression that he had before relaxed, as everyone watched as his leg healed, with their mouth agape.

"You can heal?" he asked.

"Well, yes, but just like everyone else here, it's low-level, and it's nature magic. Luckily for you, there was no poison or infection, as I can't help with that yet."

After Offreys leg healed, he stood up shakily and fell face forward weakly. "What is going on?" he mumbled weakly.

"Well, I just sped up your recovery, and that takes a lot out of you, so you still need to rest, and unfortunately, that takes time and sustenance."

"Does anyone have any food or nutrient potions?" Lirael sighed, "you can't have any of my candy"

Everyone looked around as the little pixie sighed, a glass bottle with purplish liquid in it appeared in her hand. "Drink this, it's the lowest level nutrient potion and my last, but we don't want to wait around here all day, do we?" she smirked.

He cautiously tilted the bottle up and drank, relying on his class to alert him if anything was wrong.

"It won't make everything like new, but it should get you onto your feet well enough for now, sweety." the pixie smirked.

This is all too surreal and too much, Selene thought, everything so fast, all at once, and now even more information. She tried calming herself, but this dream, however wild, was continuing like a freight train, so she might as well steer into it right. This was just like Dungeons and Math Rocks.

"Are you good to go, Mr. Offrey?" Selene inquired.

"Offrey if you'd please, and yes, I think so." he said.

So together they all slowly made their way to what used to be a city but evidently was gone and replaced with a society that existed in the shadows for an untold millennia. Now that magic was back so was their version merging into what she knew.

"Hey when this kind of thing happens do the landmasses stay the same at least? I would like to think I can at least know what everything looks like from above."

"Yes and no to that as well. as landmasses weren't part of the split, they should be similar to an extent, but unknown as to how much has changed on that end. until we get a map or similar we wont know. "Tobez told her.

"The biggest difference will be size, as any planet grows in its mana, it also gains mass as well. so if the ruling caste decided on a bigger summer land then i doubt once the merger is done you would be able to tell anything. Its best if you don't try to figure that out at this point anyway."

"Can everyone hear you or can you make it so they can?" she pondered

"While some racial abilities can sense my spirit like the pixie there, revealing myself can be dangerous for us both, and I would prefer not to, unless the situation really calls for it."

"I guess that makes sense. Still, it will be hard talking with all of you while not appearing crazy for talking to myself." she stated.

"Well, you said earlier that this is like a lot of the novels that you have read, think of it as a trump card that the fewer people who know about, the better. So I would only divulge this to people you trust with your life." He ststed.

"Well, if it's like those novels, do I get a harem as well?" she snickered.

I mean if that's what you want, it doesn't really matter.

"No, no, absolutely not, I was just making a joke. Most of them have a guy who marries every girl that spends any amount of time with them. I don't want 15 spouses. That's a nightmare." She laughed.

ANYWAY, we should really get moving, or it really will get dark soon, and that would bring out many nasties. Tobez said.

"We should only be a few hours from the nearest town. If i recall, that is where the nearest dungeon is as well." Offrey stated.

"What kind of dungeon is it?" Selene asked.

It's a Rat-based dungeon. While they don't seem like much, they have numbers on their side, and some have evolved into humanoid forms. So you can expect that they will be fast, and some will have weapons, some will have magic, while there will still be the regular rats that you know. However, even the regular rats are the size of a dog. Shadow told them.

It would probably be best for you to stock up in the town first, or at least try to gather as much information as you can. Offrey stated while looking at the fox questioningly.

The conversation continued like this as the minutes turned into an hour or so, when some buildings started to peek over the horizon from the path they were following.

Well thats different. Selene said.
