Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Unexpected Help

They had spotted a special-class curse, undoubtedly one of the strongest, but what was that curse? Simply put, that curse was the curse of human hatred toward other humans. Sorcerers like Maki Zenin, with her split-soul katana, and Nobara Kugisaki with her ritual technique, the Voodoo Doll technique, were sent to exorcise that curse. They were the only ones currently capable of affecting souls. When Nobara and Maki arrived, they could sense the cursed energy of that curse.

- Apparently, today is a nice day to go to hell.- Maki nudged Nobara, a smile on her face, clearly enjoying Nobara's irritation.

- I don't think there's any need for such jokes, Maki-senpai. Besides, what happened in that fight in the groves?- Nobara's curiosity surfaced. Maki's expression hardened. A bitter memory came to Maki. Then the girl sighed, knowing she couldn't hide it.

- In the middle of the fight, we lost ground. Neither Yuta nor I managed to come out well. I got another scar, and Yuta, as you know, was in a coma for a whole week.- Maki stretched, a calm expression on her beautiful features.

Both sorceresses walked on. The conversation had ended long ago. Shortly after, both girls arrived at the place where the curse is located. A disgusting but familiar sight appeared before them. A smell of death and decay filled the entire place, only attenuated by the smell of blood and viscera, something Nobara and Maki were already used to.

- Ahh, that's so damn disgusting. I completely forgot what these crappy missions were like,- Nobara complained, watching in disgust as she accidentally stepped on the remains of what used to be a human.

Maki and Nobara arrived at the center of all the carnage, where the special-grade curse, just like Mahito, was resting. Nobara couldn't help but feel angry, still remembering what the face-patched curse did to her in Shibuya.

- I still say I hate this kind of curse,- Nobara growled. Maki was already prepared for a fight. The curse soon after noticed Maki and Nobara's presence.

- Wow, jujutsu sorcerers, it's a pleasure to see you here.- The curse bowed theatrically, but a curse was still just that, a curse. Even if the curse spoke in a kind and harmonious manner, they couldn't be trusted.

- I'd like to say the same, but considering it's you, I'd better keep my words to myself.- Maki was the first of the two to speak. It was only a brief exchange, and with just that, the fight was underway.

The curse's movements were swift and lethal. Maki and Nobara scattered to gain more ground. With agile and elegant movements, Maki began the offensive. The curse, which they could call anything, was itching to defend herself. Nobara waited patiently for the ideal moment to attack, and when she saw it, she didn't hesitate and launched her nails, hitting the target. The curse deformed her body, changing and seeking to adapt.

- Doing that won't help you.- Maki charged at the curse with a swift movement, managing to land a blow to its soul, leaving an opening for Nobara.

With a swift movement, Nobara attempted to land a critical hit on the curse, but unfortunately, the curse recovered faster. Just as Nobara was about to be hit by the curse, someone appeared. Some would think an ordinary person. But this wasn't an ordinary person. Oh, of course not. This new individual who had just appeared was Yuuji Itadori, who wasn't very happy with the fact that a curse like Mahito was existing in his time. It wasn't pleasing to the pale pink-haired boy.

- Curses like yours are the ones I hate the most.- Yuuji quickly went to hit the curse, managing to land two black flashes on it. Seeing itself cornered, it decided to run away.

- You're not going to do that, son of a bitch. I let that happen last time, and I ended up regretting it.- With a swift movement, Yuuji destroyed the exit through which the curse was supposed to escape. Yuuji quickly moved against the curse. Nobara and Maki followed suit, also seeking to exorcise the new curse, but in the end he managed to escape.

- Well, it was attempted.- Nobara smiled, trying to speak to Yuuji, who only glared at her, then quickly ran away.

But Nobara didn't overlook the fact that Yuuji's cursed energy was very low, an indication that Yuuji hadn't fully recovered yet.

- We still have a slim chance.- Nobara quickly began to think of a plan to defeat Yuuji, but along with the thought of a plan, came those words.

Yuuji moved like a shadow, swift and silent, searching for the curse, but unfortunately for him, he had managed to escape. His plan had failed, but now his new target was Maki and Nobara. When he returned, they were gone, frustrating Yuuji even more.

Minutes later.

Yuuji was resting on a bench, contemplating the scenery. A faint smile spread across his face. Yuuji saw Megumi in the distance. His calmness gave way to annoyance, then a hint of curiosity. A bitter laugh escaped his mouth, clearly enjoying everything that was happening.

- What are you doing here, Megumi?- Yuuji smiled, a smile only Sukuna could give, but Megumi didn't mind at all.

- I came to talk to you,- Megumi's voice sounded raspy for some reason, but for Yuuji, a body language expert—well, actually, the boy had become an expert not long ago—something was something. He continued: it was a sign, something that didn't add up. With quick thoughts, Yuuji remembered hearing from Yuta in the past about a sorcerer who had awakened with a ritual technique capable of changing his appearance, but the downside was that his voice and thoughts remained the same as the man's.

A soft laugh escaped Yuuji, understanding the sorcerer's bold move.

- How bold!-

Yuuji quickly jumped, dodging the real Megumi, who attacked him by surprise.

- Damn, she realized it long before!-

Megumi quickly formulated a new strategy. He was accompanied by Maki, nobara, and Yuta. That sorcerer (who, by the way, you can give him a name) quickly regained his true appearance: a young man with a robust build, not so much as to be called a mastodon, much less a giraffe's neck, simply a boy possibly younger than Itadori, but with a body built for fighting.

- I told you he'd notice.- Maki emerged from the trees, angry that the plan to capture Itadori had gone completely wrong.

- Well, if anything can go wrong, it will.- Yuuji showed a hint of amusement, clearly enjoying the sorcerers' failure.

- Oh, come on, don't come lecturing us, we already know more than anyone.- Maki angrily gripped the handle of her weapon, annoyed by Itadori's casual comment.

- Well, if you don't want me to lecture you, then think of a better plan.- Yuuji moved, quickly throwing a punch at the sorcerer. As he was about to protect himself, Yuuji deflected the blow, hitting Yuta. Yuta, unexpectedly, failed to cover his body with cursed energy and fell unconscious, especially since Yuuji's blow came with a black flash.

- Oh, come on, why don't you leave the ulti?- Megumi tried to distract Yuuji, who just laughed calmly.

- Ulti? No, Fushiguro, the black flash isn't my ultimate, it's just the basic ones.- Yuuji smiled amusedly, perturb Maki, Nobara, Megumi, and the sorcerer, since it meant Yuuji hadn't used his ulti. Yuuji quickly went after Maki, and since the most troublesome one had fallen, the rest would be a piece of cake for him.

- Let's see if your heavenly restriction can withstand the black flash. And Yuuji threw the punch. Maki couldn't do anything. Yuuji was definitely on a new level; no one could do anything.

Nobara tried to protect herself, but she wasn't used to the damage from the black flash, so she fainted from the intense pain. Megumi fell with a well-delivered blow. The sorcerer managed to escape with Megumi, Nobara, Maki, and Yuta, annoying Yuuji, but even though he was already in his quiet and peaceful solitude.
