Chapter 56 - [56] The Ten Main Gods

"Student... student?"

Seeing that Haruto hadn't responded for a while, Chisato Hasegawa's delicate brows furrowed slightly. "If you're feeling too unwell, you should lie down on the bed first."

Haruto snapped out of his thoughts and smiled apologetically. "Sorry, sensei, you're just too beautiful. I got lost in looking at you."

"Thank you for the compliment."

Chisato glided forward gracefully, neither flustered by Haruto's praise nor teasing him in return, maintaining her calm and composed demeanor.

As she approached him, she leaned slightly forward, placing a delicate hand on Haruto's forehead. Her soft, ample breasts pressed against his chest through her knit dress.

A faint, pleasant fragrance enveloped him, and Haruto instinctively wanted to step back—but caught himself just in time.

Gazing at her enchanting face so close to his, feeling the cool, smooth touch of her hand, his heart began to race uncontrollably.

Something's off, this woman is definitely not normal.

This feeling of tension and unease was a first for Haruto.

Neither Rias nor Akeno fell short in terms of looks or figure compared to this woman...

With equally stunning beauty and a scorching-hot body, this buxom older sister before him seemed tailor-made for Haruto's preferences.

From her face to her figure, her demeanor and style, down to her every movement—everything about her kept drawing him in.

Though she was a rare beauty, exactly his type, it wasn't as if he'd never been with a woman before...

Could this really be love at first sight?

Haruto shook his head, dismissing the unrealistic thought.

Love at first sight? More like lust at first sight.

As for love, he hadn't figured it out in his past life, and in this world, he had no intention of delving into it.

Rather than love, he'd sooner admit it was possessiveness or desire at play.

"Hmm, no fever. It's nothing serious. Just lie down and rest for a while."

While Haruto was lost in thought, Chisato finished her quick examination.

She turned back to her desk and resumed handling the documents in front of her.

"I'll be right here. If you need anything or feel unwell, just let me know."

"Got it. Thanks, sensei."

Haruto responded but didn't lie down on the bed. Instead, he kept his eyes fixed on the buxom school nurse as she worked intently.

He hadn't forgotten his original purpose for coming here. If anything, these strange feelings only made him more determined to confirm the identity of the new nurse.

The more he looked at her, the stronger the sense of familiarity grew—yet he just couldn't place it.

It was as if a hazy veil stood between them. Piercing through it would make everything clear.

"Is something wrong? Do you need anything else?"

Chisato's voice was sweet and alluring, yet her tone carried a masculine edge.

The contrast between her seductive voice and her blunt manner of speech didn't feel odd at all. Instead, it accentuated her feminine charm and bewitching allure.

Suppressing the strange emotions in his chest, Haruto reminded himself not to act recklessly before figuring out who she really was.

"Nothing much. I was just wondering why Aiko-sensei isn't here today."

Chisato glanced at him and replied coolly, "Yamamura-sensei resigned. I'm taking over her duties. From now on, I'll be the school nurse."

Haruto feigned surprise. "Why so suddenly? I didn't even get to thank her for treating me last time."

"Thank her for treatment?"

Chisato swiveled her chair, crossing her long, voluptuous legs.

Under her miniskirt, the lace-trimmed, palm-sized panties were shamelessly exposed to Haruto's gaze.

His eyes burned, and his breathing grew ragged.

Don't look at what you shouldn't!

He quickly averted his gaze upward, fearing his resolve might crumble otherwise.

Noticing his reaction, Chisato casually tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and said nonchalantly, "Yamamura-sensei was fired for inappropriate relationships with students and colleagues."

The answer surprised Haruto slightly, but upon reflection, it made sense.

Given how that older woman had repeatedly tried to make a move on him, the signs had been there.

That woman's looks and figure were above average, and with her being so forward, few young boys could resist.

If not for the sword of Damocles hanging over his head at the time, Haruto might have succumbed to her advances.

"So that's how it is..."

Haruto tried his best not to look at the buxom school nurse in front of him, steering the conversation toward the direction he wanted.

"Then I'll be counting on your guidance from now on, sensei. My health isn't great, so I'll probably be visiting the infirmary often."

"Poor health? Frequent visits to the infirmary?"

Chisato's lips curled into a faint smile. Unfortunately, Haruto's gaze was fixed on her black high heels and delicate feet, so he missed it entirely.

"Yeah, I've had a weak constitution since birth. I often get dizzy, headaches..."

Chisato crossed her sheer black-stockinged legs, amused to have encountered such an interesting student so soon after arriving at this school.

She had placed a seal on herself, forbidding the use of supernatural powers unless absolutely necessary—but that didn't mean her strength was gone.

The gap in their abilities was too vast. With just a brief interaction, she had already seen through Haruto's true nature.

A man with devil blood, nearly A-rank in strength, specializing in close combat... claiming to be frail and sickly since birth?

Thanks to her deep self-control, Chisato managed not to burst out laughing.

She swiveled her chair around, turning her back to Haruto, afraid she might accidentally let out a chuckle.

"Well then, you should lie down for now, student."

Seeing the buxom nurse turn away, Haruto also let out a sigh of relief.

Under her gaze, he had felt unbearably exposed—those emerald-green eyes seemed capable of piercing through any secret.

"By the way, my name is Haruto Seishu. May I ask how I should address you, sensei?"

Having laid enough groundwork, Haruto began probing carefully.

Name, age, place of residence, friends, family...

If he could gather all this information, he was sure he could unravel the strange sense of familiarity he felt.

"Chisato Hasegawa. Just call me Hasegawa-sensei."

"Understood, Hasegawa-sensei." Haruto readily agreed. "Hasegawa-sensei, you look so young..."

His voice trailed off until it faded into silence.

Chisato Hasegawa... Hasegawa-sensei... the buxom, mature school nurse...

The sexy woman before him gradually overlapped with a character from his memories, merging into one.

Staring mutely at Chisato's back, Haruto felt as if something were stuck in his throat.

He had thought he'd need to investigate further, but just hearing her name was enough to awaken his dormant memories.

The hazy veil in his mind was abruptly torn apart. Caught off guard, Haruto found himself at a loss for what to do next.

Silence filled the infirmary. Chisato turned her head, giving Haruto a puzzled look.

Why had he suddenly stopped mid-sentence?

That look again...

That gaze, filled with familiarity yet also strangeness and surprise...

She had noticed it earlier when Haruto had stared at her in a daze, but she had dismissed it as her imagination. Now, it seemed she wasn't mistaken.

She quietly committed the name "Haruto Seishu" to memory, planning to investigate him when she had the time.

After a moment of disorientation, Haruto forced a smile. "Hasegawa-sensei... no, Afureia..."

Chisato's expression shifted, her delicate features losing their earlier composure.

She abruptly stood up, staring intently at Haruto for a few seconds before sitting back down.

"What are you talking about? What does 'Afureia' mean?"

"Nothing. Just a slip of the tongue."

Haruto's tense body relaxed. For a moment, he had thought he was going to die.

As expected of one of the Ten Chief Gods, even while sealed, this tangible oppressive aura and presence was enough to make one's heart tremble with fear.

Chisato gave Haruto a deep look. "Rest well and don't speak."

Haruto grinned wryly—this was clearly a warning not to go blabbing about what he'd seen.

Chisato's appearance had shocked him so much that he couldn't resist testing the waters to confirm his suspicions.

The probing had been effective, instantly revealing the truth, but it had also exposed him in the process.

As he obediently lay down on the bed, Haruto couldn't help but sigh inwardly.

He'd originally thought supernatural powers and top-tier combatants only existed among the DxD world's characters, never imagining characters from the 'Testament of Sister New Devil' would appear too.

Beyond that, Haruto had been wondering if there was any connection between the new school nurse and Sakura Miyajima's transfer.

When he noticed that familiar feeling lingering in his mind, he'd kept trying to recall which ecchi anime it came from...

If not for his preconceptions, there was no way Haruto wouldn't have recognized Chisato Hasegawa.

On the contrary, he likely would have identified her immediately.

But the cognitive dissonance upon discovering the truth made him unable to resist exposing her secret right then and there.
