The whole night passed in a haze of unease. Daniel barely got a wink of sleep. No matter how hard he tried, Anna's words kept replaying in his mind — "DarkKnight_07 wants to be friends with me."
Friends.The word gnawed at him like a splinter that refused to come out.
"Another pair of panda eyes," Henry muttered under his breath from the driver's seat, glancing at the rearview mirror. Daniel sat in the back, eyes fixed on nothing, completely lost in thought.
Henry sighed quietly. Just why does he want to meet Dr. Jason this early? he wondered. Does he even remember there's a meeting scheduled at ten?
Still, he knew better than to ask. When Daniel's mood was like this, even the air seemed to hold its breath.
But as if sensing Henry's thoughts, Daniel suddenly lifted his gaze. His sharp eyes met Henry's through the mirror.
"What?" Daniel's tone was low, clipped.
