Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: The Wind in the Wilderness

Xavier was a bit annoyed; if the invitation failed, his 10-pull would be gone!

But what Xavier couldn't figure out was that the system hadn't given any prompts. Could it be that he hadn't failed?

However, Arataki Itto had no idea where he had run off to, so where was he supposed to invite him?

"Haha, I knew they wouldn't even pass the first stage!"

Suddenly, a melodious laugh came from behind Xavier.

Xavier turned his head and saw a woman standing not far away, holding a burning sparkler in her hand.

"Huh? How is there still someone here?" The woman finally noticed Xavier.

She showed no fear and walked towards Xavier.

This, instead, made Xavier a little scared. Could there really be a ghost?

But it was only when the other party got closer that Xavier realized it was a Damselette with bandages wrapped around her body and golden hair.

This outfit...

"Yoimiya!"

Xavier blurted out her name.

Yoimiya moved the sparkler in her hand to the side, revealing her exquisitely beautiful face.

"You know me?"

Looking at the unfamiliar man in front of her, Yoimiya couldn't remember who he was, no matter how hard she thought.

"Of course I know you. You're Naganohara Yoimiya, Inazuma's Summer Festival Queen!" Xavier said with a smile.

"I can't believe you really know me, but it seems we haven't met before."

Yoimiya tilted her head left and right, full of curiosity about Xavier.

Xavier rubbed his nose and explained, "It's a long story, but in short, I'm from another world."

"How is that possible? I think you're a bad guy, and you're here to do bad things!"

Yoimiya didn't believe a word Xavier said and even kept her distance.

This made Xavier very heartbroken.

Before Xavier could explain, Yoimiya started laughing.

"Haha, just kidding with you!"

She patted Xavier's shoulder and then asked, "You said you're from another world. Does your world also have fireworks?"

Saying that, Yoimiya lit a sparkler and handed it to Xavier.

Xavier took it and looked at the burning sparkler, sighing with emotion, "Yes, there are, but they usually aren't allowed to be set off."

"No way! Why would such a beautiful thing like fireworks be prohibited? Is your world very dark and scary?"

"Not really. But speaking of which, what was that big clever Itto doing just now?"

"I can't believe you know him! We're having a competition to see who's the Kid King of Hanamizaka."

"Only he could come up with such a boring competition..."

The two chatted as they walked out of the bamboo forest. Soon, Xavier saw a vast open field.

There was no full moon high in the sky today, but the night sky was like a long river.

The autumn breeze blew, and the wild grass swayed like waves in the sea.

The starlight scattered down, decorating the uninhabited field.

Everything was silent, with only the sound of insects singing in their ears.

The two held their lights and stood under the starry sky.

Yoimiya slowly closed her eyes, letting her golden hair sway in the wind.

There was a peaceful smile on her face. Although she saw nothing, it was as if she saw the entire world.

The starlight mixed with the light of the fire illuminated Yoimiya's already stunning face, and the autumn air carried a faint scent of fireworks.

Xavier was somewhat dazed, seemingly forgetting to breathe.

This... perhaps this was Yoimiya's unique charm.

"Xavier, did you hear that?"

Suddenly, Yoimiya, with her eyes closed, spoke.

"Ah, what? Was there a sound?"

Xavier looked left and right, not hearing any special sound at all.

"Oh, it's the sound of the wind!"

Yoimiya opened her eyes, returning to her usual liveliness.

Xavier scratched his head, not understanding what was so good about the sound of the wind.

"The wind blows all over the continent of Teyvat. I believe every wisp of wind has a story, don't you think?"

Seeing Xavier's confused expression, Yoimiya expressed her thoughts.

He didn't speak, only feeling fortunate that Yoimiya wasn't a Mondstadter, otherwise she would have become a follower of the drunkard.

But honestly, Yoimiya just now was truly captivating.

Through their brief conversation, Yoimiya had gained some understanding of the world called Blue Star and had become curious about it.

"So that's how it is. It seems the cities on Blue Star are very developed, otherwise, they wouldn't prohibit fireworks, right?"

"Of course. Take Jiangcheng, where I live, for example; tall buildings are everywhere."

Listening to Xavier's description, Yoimiya became even more curious.

She sat on a nearby dead tree, propping her chin with her hand, resting her head.

"Sounds very interesting. I wish I could go and see it!"

Seeing Yoimiya's longing expression, Xavier suddenly remembered what his mission here was.

Could it be that the person he was supposed to invite this time wasn't Arataki Itto, but Yoimiya in front of him?

After all, if the target had been Arataki Itto, he should have already been declared a failure.

Xavier, who had been a bit troubled, instantly brightened up.

"Then let's go, Yoimiya, come be my guest in my world!"

Xavier extended his hand, making a sincere invitation.

"Really?" Yoimiya stood up, her eyes full of anticipation.

"Mm!"

Seeing Xavier nod, Yoimiya unhesitatingly grabbed Xavier's hand.

...

[Ding! Congratulations, Host, for successfully inviting Yoimiya!]

[Ding! 10-pull has been issued!]

Xavier didn't expect to get a 10-pull so easily. It was really good!

"Xavier, your house is so big! Do all Blue Star people live in places like this?"

After Yoimiya arrived and saw such a large house, she exclaimed.

Xavier said without modesty, "Of course not. My house is considered one of the best in Jiangcheng."

"Oh~ No wonder..."

Yoimiya no longer dwelled on the question and wandered around the room.

She found all sorts of things on Blue Star fascinating.

"Xavier, what's that big thing hanging on the wall?"

"That's a television."

"What about this one?"

"This is a washing machine, something used to free your hands."

"This, and this..."

Yoimiya asked a string of questions, and Xavier answered them one by one, his mouth almost dry.

He originally thought that after answering so many questions, Yoimiya would quiet down a bit, but she only became more enthusiastic with each question.

After a while, Yoimiya finally quieted down and sat on the sofa.

She said with a somewhat regretful expression, "Sigh, it's such a pity."

"What's wrong? Is there something you don't like?" Xavier was afraid he hadn't done something right.

Yoimiya shook her head, "It's a pity it's night now. I can't go outside and see what it's like."

"Why not? Are you going to sleep?"

"Silly, of course it's because there's no one outside at night!"

Xavier grinned. It seemed he had to let Yoimiya experience what Blue Star's nightlife was like!

Besides, it wasn't particularly late, only a little after ten o'clock.

Seeing Xavier's expression, Yoimiya knew she had guessed wrong.

"No way, are there a lot of people on Blue Star at night too?"

"Of course. And there are night markets, with food, drinks, and entertainment all available."

"Wow, that's amazing! In Inazuma, night markets only happen during festivals!"

Yoimiya was incredibly excited, clenching her small fists, full of anticipation.

"I want to go! I want to go!"

Yoimiya originally thought Xavier would generously agree to her.

Through their interactions, she had found Xavier to be a very easygoing person.

Unexpectedly, Xavier stroked his chin and shook his head.

"Tsk, that won't do."

"Oh, don't be so stingy! I'll give you Mora if it's a big deal." Yoimiya thought it was about Mora.

Xavier waved his hand, "You're here as a guest, how could I let you spend money? I'm talking about clothes!"

It's better to be low-key when going out at night, especially after learning from Furina's lesson last time.

"Oh, right, I almost forgot about that."

Yoimiya spun around once before remembering that her clothes were completely different from those of Blue Star people.

After a moment of thought, Yoimiya suggested, "How about you lend me your clothes to wear? What do you think?"
