Chapter 52 - Chapter 52: The Skirmisher Was Praised

Furina didn't bother arguing with Xavier about the dessert anymore and questioned, "It's fine that you called Nahida, but why did you call this guy too?"

Through the game, Furina had somewhat understood Balladeer, and she had heard many of his foul-mouthed remarks.

However, Furina didn't take it seriously, thinking, 'How bad can one person's foul mouth be?'

It turned out that hearing was not as good as seeing.

Only when she saw him with her own eyes today did she realize she had underestimated him.

Xavier sighed and said, "If it weren't for Nahida, I wouldn't have called him over. He's a problem child, so please bear with him."

"Problem child? What do you mean?" Furina asked, confused.

She didn't understand Balladeer as well as the allogene players on Blue Star.

Xavier glanced at Balladeer, then whispered, "Actually, his biological mother is Raiden Ei, did you know?"

"What? Is that true or false?!" Furina exclaimed loudly, as if she had heard some incredible gossip.

Everyone else cast strange glances, and Xavier quickly covered her mouth.

Then he gave a dry laugh and said, "Of course it's true! The dessert you love most has gone up in price!"

Then Xavier dragged her into the room and scolded, "Why were you so loud? Are you afraid others won't know?"

"Cough, I wasn't that loud! You misheard!" Furina remained stubborn.

Xavier continued to talk about Balladeer.

"Actually, it's not much of a secret, but it's not very polite to say it in front of others."

"He's a puppet, but Raiden Ei thought he wasn't perfect, so she discarded him among the common folk."

"Later, he experienced some of the world's hardships, to the point where he constantly thought about becoming a god, completely obsessed."

Furina was somewhat surprised, not expecting this guy to have such a past.

"Then, Raiden Ei is too irresponsible, isn't she? As cold as the legends say."

"No wonder he said Klee was abandoned or something; I think he was thinking of himself."

Xavier said leisurely, "What if I told you that many puppets before him were destroyed, and he was the only one preserved?"

Furina's expression changed again: "Uh, well, that seems rather benevolent."

"In short, I'm telling you all this because I hope you don't get into a conflict with him, understand?"

Furina nodded heavily and said, "Don't worry, don't worry, I definitely won't argue with him!"

Seeing Furina agree so readily, Xavier knew it probably wouldn't be that easy.

As soon as the two came out of the room, a startling sound came.

"Ha!"

Hu Tao jumped out from the side, giggling, "What secret talks are you two having? Are you doing something bad?"

Although the two hadn't done anything, Furina panicked and said, "You, you, you, don't talk nonsense! We didn't do anything!"

Xavier wasn't as flustered as Furina and didn't even bother with Hu Tao.

Although only a short two minutes had passed, the atmosphere in the living room had already eased considerably.

Balladeer, however, sat in the corner, silent like a statue.

Klee was pulling Nahida around, introducing Xavier's home.

"Sister Nahida, this is the refrigerator, it keeps food fresh!"

"And this, it's a smart speaker, it can control many things."

"And, and, this is the rice cooker; put the rice in, and it will be cooked very quickly!"

Nahida smiled throughout, providing complete emotional support.

And during the process, Nahida was also very surprised because these things were almost non-existent in Teyvat.

Such intelligent equipment, such complete industry, it was simply incredible.

In this regard, she was very similar to Zhongli.

She wondered if introducing these things to Sumeru would improve the lives of the people.

Nahida suddenly said to Xavier, "Xavier, can you take me out to look around?"

Xavier's house had so many magical things, so there must be even more outside, right?

As the God of wisdom, she had a heart that constantly sought to learn and progress.

Before Xavier could agree, Furina suddenly ran over with her phone.

"Xavier, Xavier, what delicious food is this? Quickly take me to eat it!"

Xavier saw a video playing on Furina's phone, and a spicy aroma wafted over.

That's right, it was hot pot.

Xavier believed that hot pot was one of humanity's greatest inventions because it was truly too delicious.

"Alright, then let's go out together, and we can have hot pot along the way. No problem, right?"

Hearing this suggestion, everyone agreed.

"Agreed!"

Of course, except for our classmate A-Mao.

"Boring!"

He turned his head and snorted.

Furina was about to argue with him again but was stopped by Xavier.

"Alright, considering this guy's not-so-pleasant experiences, I won't argue with him."

Furina said this, but her eyes were fixed on her phone and hadn't moved, clearly enticed by the hot pot.

Xavier glanced around the living room and noticed that Zhongli didn't seem to be there today.

So he asked Hu Tao, "Hu Tao, where did Zhongli go?"

Hu Tao had her legs propped on the sofa, swinging them back and forth casually, saying, "Oh, he ran off somewhere, said he was going for a walk."

If it were anyone else, Xavier might be a little worried.

But if it was Zhongli, then there was no need to worry too much.

Perhaps the old man had read enough news and decided to go out and understand the local customs firsthand.

"Let's go, I'll take you to the cloakroom to change clothes!"

Xavier stopped thinking and, with a wave of his hand, led them to the cloakroom.

Inside the cloakroom, Klee enthusiastically helped Nahida choose clothes.

"Sister Nahida, Klee thinks this outfit suits you very well!"

Klee's taste was indeed good; she picked a dress for Nahida, and it fit perfectly when she put it on.

The top was a white shirt, and the bottom was a black long skirt.

Wearing this outfit, Nahida appeared even more intellectual and gentle.

Balladeer originally didn't want to go out, but Nahida said something to him again, and he finally reluctantly agreed.

In another cloakroom, Xavier and Balladeer stared at each other.

Because Xavier had asked Balladeer many times what kind of clothes he wanted to wear, and even held the clothes in front of him, Balladeer still didn't speak.

This infuriated Xavier: "Wear it or don't! I'm leaving!"

Xavier threw the clothes back into the wardrobe; he was really spoiling him!

When he came to the living room and saw Nahida's clothes, Xavier was very surprised because they indeed looked good.

And what surprised Xavier even more was that not long after, Balladeer also walked out of the cloakroom.

Balladeer chose a tracksuit, but it was slightly casual.

He always liked to expose his thighs, whether it was his preference or for some other reason.

"Yay! A-Mao is so handsome!"

Klee was a child who didn't hold grudges; she quickly forgot what Balladeer had just said and even praised Balladeer's clothes.

"Even if you say that, don't think I'll say thank you."

Balladeer turned his head away, a hint of undetectable embarrassment on his face.
