Chapter 16 - The Extra's Rebellion (4)

But the leech had already died. Levi let out a long breath of relief, though it sounded more like a ragged hiss through his teeth.

The adrenaline that had carried him this far evaporated, and reality came crashing down on him like a hammer.

The pain hit all at once— his ribs grinding whenever he breathed, the jagged throb of his split wrist, the stinging cuts and bruises scattered across his body. He clenched his jaw so tightly his teeth ached.

"System". Levi muttered, forcing his voice through the haze of pain. "Buy… healing potions."

There was a pause, then the cold, neutral voice of the system answered

[Healing potions are not available in this world.]

Levi blinked, his exhaustion turning into disbelief. "…What?"

Levi stared at the notification in confusion for sometime before a memory resurfaced.

*****

[Notice: Host can only buy items limited to this world, and the Host must be knowledgeable about the item before it can be registered and purchased by the Host]

"You mean to tell me that I can only buy items limited to this world". Levi asked in a plain voice with a slight tone of anger.

When he first saw the shop function of the system, he was overjoyed. He immediately sought the prize of an infinity stone.

But to his disappointment, his purchases were limited to what this world had to offer.

"How much more useless can you get? I can't even buy an artifact!".

The memory left a bitter taste in his mouth.

'If only I could purchase an infinity stone, or the physique of Saitama, or the Sharingan. I could had smocked this world.... Well the early stage'. Levi thought in agony, resentful at the system.

If it wasn't for privilege of his job as a bulter, he would had never been able to get a closer look at the training center where the members of Kindlehart clan practiced.

Pushing the thoughts to the back of his mind he stared at the rest of his points.

System point:- 1,200

'I would have to use it anyway'. Watching the point drain from his account, he didn't feel bad, on the contrary he was kind of happy to see it go.

These were the points gathered from serving Cecilia along the years— a sign of his servitude.

A roll of bandage appeared on his outstretched hand, it looked similar to normal bandages with the exception of black strocks all over it.

He didn't need to do anything, from his memory of reading the story he knew that this type of bandage had an injury sensing rune and would act on it.

As he had expected the rune started to unfurl, wrapping around his injuries, starting from his head, it wrapped around his forehead, the entirely of his stomach and his hand and legs that were filled with scratches from the leg of the leech.

By the time it was done, his naked body now looked like that of a mummified corpse.

The bandage let out a soft green soothing light as his throbbing injuries started to cool off. Levi sat on the floor for a few moments.

Recollecting himself, all these recent happenings had him on the edge. But he knew it was time to relax now.

'Time for the fifth plan'. The first stage of the plan was to die— completed.

Second stage was to take over the body of the leech— completed. Third stage was to get reborn— completed. Fourth stage was to make sure he got reborn as a human— completed.

While the fifth stage was to threaten the remaining spirit of the three legged golden crow hiding in the ashes to come out— with the life of Cecilia.

This was one of the reasons Cecilia was still alive.

In the novel, after Cecilia's baptism in the ashes, the spirit of the Golden Crow merged with her constellation and transformed it in the image of the Phoenix of the South.

The Golden Crow then told her her destiny of being the inheritor of the second Heaven— The Heaven of Fire and Rebirth.

This solidified her prospect of being the chosen one.

But that's not the point.

Levi lusted after the power, specifically the location of the Second heaven. But to do that he needed to lure out the Golden Crow spirit with Cecilia's life.

But even if he lured out the crow how would he manage to hold the spirit, if he tries to anchor it to his soul, the spirit could just self destruct and then bring Levi down with itself.

While it would then reborn itself again from the ashes, Levi would be on his way to Samsara.

It all tied down to his avatar— Celestial Gambit.
