Chapter 88 - Indulgence and Obedience

The limousine glided toward the military base, as Lolita retrieved her pocket mirror from her purse, admiring her reflection adorned with pink eyeshadow, thick lashes coated in black mascara, and strawberry lipstick accentuating her heart-shaped lips.

Sipping cognac from her snifter, she recalled Axel's persistent advice to moderate her drinking, a reminder that sometimes made her wish for duct tape to silence his nagging.

The mini bar in the limo offered her endless indulgence making her as happy as a dog in a dog park.

The limo stopped, and Lolita exited. Her security guards followed her as she walked onto the stage. She scanned the crowd of fifty thousand soldiers saluting her, except for one man whose arm was low to the ground.

Lolita snapped, "Arrest that man!" She pointed at the man. "He's an insult to me. He's not saluting me."

Two burly guards charged forward, seizing the soldier's arms. He writhed, grimacing as they hauled him across the gravel toward their waiting van, boots scraping against the rough stone.

She approached the microphone. Smiled; her teeth were pearly white. "All of you're so brave to fight in this war. Your sacrifice will not be without meaning. I'm pure at heart, that's why I've saved your souls. You've nothing to fear at war because God is on my side."

She stroked the diamond ring on her index finger. A cue to clap for her. She gave a small curtsey and left the stage. Afterwards, she returned to her limo. Back at the castle, she prepared for her luxurious bee venom facial treatment, a fitting reward for her performance.
