Chapter 29 - The Legendary “Boil-Resistant King”

After the feast began, Shiro had a few drinks and, feeling slightly tipsy, wandered to the ship's stern.

Moonlight danced across the waves, shimmering like silver. He carefully examined Oto.

He noticed that after devouring the pink injury energy, the blade's color had darkened.

"Could feeding it like this help Oto transform into a black blade faster?"

The thought made his blood boil with excitement. He swung the sword at the sea.

A deafening boom rang out—the waves split apart.

Repeating the same technique, the power seemed even stronger.

"So, as long as I keep feeding Oto the injuries from the Paw-Paw Fruit, its strength will keep growing."

Shiro muttered, stroking the blade.

"That's right, Master! I'll grow stronger and stronger!"

The sword spirit jumped out, eager to chime in.

"Hey, you chatterbox, can you not talk so much?" Shiro frowned.

"What chatterbox, Master? From now on, call me Little Sakura!"

The sword spirit said seriously.

"Little Sakura is too girly. You're a sword spirit—you need a more intimidating name. Hmm… I've got it. Since you'll be eating all those Paw-Paw Fruit injuries, I'll rename this blade 'The Tetanus Fang,' and you'll be called Little Fang."

A sly grin crossed Shiro's face.

T/N: An interesting name but makes sense I guess, another translation could be Disease Breaker/Destroyer

"What? Little Fang? That's awful! Master, change it!"

The sword spirit whined pitifully, pleading.

"It's Little Fang. If you don't listen, no more tasty energy for you!"

Shiro threatened.

"Waaah! Master is bullying Little Fang!"

The sword spirit actually started crying.

Moments later, to vent its frustration, it manipulated Oto to unleash a golden sword slash toward the sea.

In an instant, the ocean split in two. Countless fish and shrimp were cleaved in half—the surface became a chaotic mess.

"This… this is… Golden Lion Shiki's Lion Chop! Little Fang, you can do this?"

Shiro stared, dumbfounded.

"Yes, Master! This move is in Little Fang' memory. Normally, I couldn't perform it, but after you fed me that good stuff, I could!"

The sword spirit proudly shimmered, showing off before Shiro.

"Excellent! Little Fang, you can fight solo now and be a reliable helper for me!"

Shiro hugged the sword and spirit tightly, filled with joy and anticipation.

"Leave it to me! I'll protect my Master!"

The sword spirit stood tall, heroic and valiant.

In the tumultuous waters of the New World, the Oro Jackson cut through the waves with ease.

Since the sword spirit joined the Roger Pirates, the legendary ship became even livelier, filled with laughter and chaos.

The outgoing, friendly spirit naturally lowered guards. It flitted across the deck, cheerfully greeting and chatting with every crew member.

When the chef carefully prepared meals, it curiously asked about the spices. When the crew repaired the ship, it eagerly handed tools and offered advice.

Day by day, the spirit became an indispensable part of this loving, passionate family.

When sunlight bathed the deck in golden rays, Shanks would draw his sword to practice.

The sword spirit would instantly leap forward, transforming into a sharp sword beam, sparring fiercely.

Its techniques were unpredictable—sometimes flowing like a nimble fish, dodging attacks with grace; sometimes striking like a ferocious leopard.

Thanks to the spirit's careful guidance, Shanks' swordsmanship improved drastically, his already impressive techniques becoming even sharper and more imposing.

Meanwhile, Buggy, knowing his own strength was lacking, often approached the sword spirit with flattery, trying to earn protection in dangerous situations.

After his battle with Katakuri, Shiro realized the importance of Observation Haki and threw himself into its training.

High-level Observation Haki—"Future Sight"—was extremely difficult to master.

At first, Shiro naively thought a single intense battle would awaken it, as it did for Luffy.

But it didn't happen. Perhaps his victory over Katakuri was too easy, lacking the life-or-death struggle needed to break through limits.

Time passed as the Oro Jackson sailed. Eventually, it approached a mysterious island shrouded in an ominous aura.

The island was densely overgrown, vines twisting in every direction, giving off a subtle sense of danger.

Upon landing, the crew encountered a group of overconfident Navy soldiers. They thought they could take the famous Roger Pirates but were quickly crushed, fleeing in humiliation.

Nearby, the Whitebeard Pirates' Moby Dick slowly approached.

Buggy, on lookout, spotted them and shouted urgently:

"Trouble! Whitebeard Pirates incoming!"

Roger's eyes sparkled with excitement.

"Whitebeard is a rare worthy opponent. Finally, a proper fight!"

Before anyone could react, a monstrous figure emerged from the dense forest.

Nearly four meters tall, muscular, gripping gleaming twin blades. Most notably, he wore a loincloth despite his age—a bizarre sight.

Shiro immediately recognized him: the legendary "Boil-Resistant King," Kōzuki Oden, heir of Wano.

Oden's talent was monstrous:

At 0, he dared to throw his nurse;

At 2, he caught rabbits barehanded;

At 4, he crushed a giant bear with rocks;

At 6, he roamed the pleasure districts;

At 8, he fought skilled gamblers;

At 9, even the Yakuza avoided him;

At 15, he abducted women nightly for unspeakable acts.

His body was ridiculously resilient—boiled in pots and emerged unharmed.

Yet in decisions, he was often foolish, ruining a perfect hand of cards, making it hard to dislike him entirely.

Seeing Oden charging furiously, Rayleigh and Gaban immediately leaped forward, ready to face this legendary threat.
