Irina and Xenovia exchanged glances with Shuo, their expressions tangled with uncertainty. After a moment of silent deliberation, both nodded, resolve flickering in their eyes.
Kokabiel sneered, frustration etched deep. "Tch, so you're the strongest among them, huh?" He sounded almost disappointed, as if robbed of the spectacle of their breakdown.
Shuo ignored him, turning to Rias and the others. "Step back. You can help Sona and the rest keep the barrier stable. Leave this feathered menace to me."
Rias nodded, her tone gentle but firm. "Be careful, Shuo."
The group retreated, clearing space on the battlefield.
Kokabiel hovered above, his smile twisting into a scowl. "You really think you can take me alone, brat? Is this your idea of a challenge?"
Shuo's lips curled into a smirk. "Challenge you? Please. I'm about to send you squawking back to whatever gutter you crawled out of."
Kokabiel's eyes narrowed, wings flaring wide—five pairs of midnight feathers bristling with power. Twin swords of yellow light formed in his hands, crackling with raw magic.
With a snarl, Kokabiel crossed the blades and unleashed twin arcs of yellow energy, tearing through the earth toward Shuo. The air vibrated with their force, and for an instant, Shuo's gaze sharpened. Cheap shot, old bird. No honor at all.
He drew the Star Holy Sword, its blade humming with barely contained power.
"Ex—calibur!"
A golden beam exploded from the sword, a maelstrom of energy that obliterated Kokabiel's attack and surged onward, unstoppable.
Kokabiel's eyes widened in disbelief as the golden light filled his vision. His dual strike, meant to crush, was shredded like tissue paper.
BOOM!
The explosion swallowed Kokabiel, smoke billowing across the battlefield.
Rias and the others stared, breath caught, eyes wide. Had Shuo really taken down a Fallen Angel cadre so easily?
As the smoke cleared, Kokabiel emerged, battered and surrounded by tattered wings. His face was a mask of rage.
He glared at the weapon in Shuo's hand, shock flickering across his features. "That's… the legendary Star Holy Sword? I never imagined you'd wield it. Fascinating."
His lips twisted into a sneer. "But you're nowhere near strong enough to unleash its full power. Pity. You're all still doomed! Hahaha!"
Shuo shook his head, quietly impressed. No wonder he's survived so long. Even Excalibur can't finish him in one blow.
He could have summoned Rayquaza and ended this instantly. But how often do you get a Fallen Angel cadre as a sparring partner? Shuo wanted to savor every moment.
He vanished, reappearing as a bolt of blue lightning, closing the gap in a heartbeat. Excalibur crackled with electricity as he brought it down hard.
CLANG!
Kokabiel conjured a magical barrier, barely deflecting the blow.
Shuo's eyes narrowed. "Gate of Wonder!" Channeling the Eight Gates, his strength surged, and he hammered the barrier with renewed ferocity.
CRACK!
Before Kokabiel could retort, the shield shattered. He was blasted from the sky, crashing hard into the ground.
The others barely had time to react before Shuo gripped Excalibur with both hands, sacred light pouring from the blade, warping the very air around him.
Kokabiel, half-buried and furious, watched Shuo gather power. His face twisted in rage—how could a centuries-old Fallen Angel be humiliated by some upstart?
"You damn brat! Die!"
No more words. Kokabiel soared to match Shuo's altitude, magic flaring to its peak. Overwhelming energy surged from his body as he raised both hands, conjuring a spear of pure light. It grew larger, more menacing with every heartbeat.
The air trembled. Even Rias felt dread creep in. "Has Kokabiel lost his mind? If Shuo can't stop that attack, Kuoh Town will be wiped off the map!"
Akeno's eyes were tight with worry. "Shuo…"
"Die, wretch!" Kokabiel hurled the spear, a comet of destruction.
Shuo met it head-on, pouring every ounce of power into the clash.
BANG!
Shuo's figure blurred, lost in the aftermath. Blood streamed from Kokabiel, one arm nearly torn away, his body battered and broken.
"Shuo!"
"Nangong-kun!"
Rias and the others cried out, panic rising.
But then, a colossal blue skeletal Susanoo erupted from the earth, towering nearly a hundred meters. Its presence was awe-inspiring—terrifying.
Kokabiel stared, eyes wild. "Impossible… Why aren't you injured?"
Shuo's answer was a cold laugh. No words—just action. Susanoo's massive palm swept down, hurricane winds tearing through the battlefield, smashing Kokabiel into the ground.
BOOM—
The shockwave flattened trees, sending splinters flying.
Kokabiel coughed blood, broken and gasping. Shuo didn't relent. He guided Susanoo's hand, snatching Kokabiel up like a rag doll. A squeeze—bones shattered, screams tore through the air.
With the other hand, Shuo tore Kokabiel's black wings off one by one. Agony overwhelmed the Fallen Angel, and he finally slipped into unconsciousness.
Rias and the others shivered, goosebumps rising.
Akeno giggled, eyes gleaming. "Ara ara, that looks fun! Next time I meet a Fallen Angel, I want to pluck their wings too!"
Rias shot her a look—equal parts speechless and exasperated.
Once Kokabiel was out cold, Shuo tossed him to the ground, dismissed Susanoo, and strode over. He summoned Excalibur, driving it through Kokabiel's heart. Sacred energy flooded the Fallen Angel's body, snuffing out his life.
And so, the Fallen Angel cadre Kokabiel met his end.
