Chapter 148 - 《DXD: Multiverse Journey》Chapter 148: Khaos Brigade Strikes—The “Strip-Down” Spell Stuns the Three Realms

"Alright, everyone—Rias and Sona's match is about to start. Let's watch the show," Sirzechs announced with a smile.

People settled into their seats, anticipation hanging in the air as the Rating Game was about to begin.

Odin stroked his beard, eyes twinkling with mischief as he glanced at Sirzechs and Serafall.

"You two really are ruthless. Making your own sisters—who happen to be best friends—fight each other? Cold-hearted, I say."

Neither seemed fazed. Their faith in their sisters was absolute.

But just as Rias, Sona, and their teams were teleported into the alternate dimension, disaster struck.

Strange magic circles flashed into existence, multiplying until they encircled Rias, Sona, and their entire squads. In an instant, a legion of devils—hundreds, maybe thousands—had them surrounded.

Back in the conference hall, thick white mist began to seep in, trapping Shuo and the others.

"That's the Old Satan Faction, working with the Khaos Brigade!"

"Wait—this mist… It's the power of the Longinus, [Dimension Lost]!"

"Is this a Khaos Brigade attack?!"

The sudden ambush left Sirzechs, Azazel, Michael, and the rest scrambling, caught completely off guard.

Even Odin, North's chief god, ripped off his left eye patch, revealing a crystalline orb in his socket pulsing with ancient runes. He scanned the mist, his face growing grim.

"This is trouble. Even I can't break Dimension Lost's spatial lock. At best, I could force open a one-way passage—enter, but no exit."

Sirzechs could only manage a bitter smile and turned to Shuo.

"Looks like we'll have to rely on you, Shuo-kun."

Shuo just waved a hand, his tone light.

"No problem. Leave it to me."

Truth was, he wasn't worried. Rias and the others had received his blessings—some were nearly at Satan-class now, and with his protective wards in place, he had no fear for their safety.

Odin's curiosity flared.

"You've got a way to break this seal, don't you? Going to unleash that mysterious dragon power again?"

Michael's smile didn't waver.

"With Shuo-kun here, we have nothing to fear."

Azazel's eyes gleamed with excitement.

"Come on, Shuo—show us what new trick you've got up your sleeve!"

Every time Shuo unveiled a new power, Azazel's research got a shot in the arm.

Shuo stood, pulling out Astil's Manuscript. He murmured an incantation:

"Connect to the Archive of Pride—activate the theme of Domination."

A black coat, trimmed in gold, shimmered into existence around him, radiating arcane energy.

Azazel's jaw dropped.

"Wait—what is that? Some kind of spell?"

Odin's gaze was razor-sharp.

"I sense magic. That book in your hand is a grimoire, isn't it?"

Michael and Sirzechs exchanged glances, both visibly impressed. Shuo's arsenal never failed to surprise.

Shuo grinned.

"Good eye, Odin. Yeah, it's a grimoire—Magus mode from another world. I can tap into seven archives: Pride, Gluttony, Lust, and so on."

"Right now, I'm using the Archive of Pride, theme of Domination. I can hijack other magi's magical gear, and my spell—Magic Cancellation—can erase almost any magic-based power."

That last bit silenced the room. Magic Cancellation, better known as the "strip-down" spell—though Shuo kept that nickname to himself—was a trump card unlike any other.

Azazel looked ready to explode with excitement.

"There's a whole system like that? Incredible!"

Odin's face fell.

"Canceling magic? That's an unbeatable move! The three realms run on magic—this could break gods and devils alike."

He'd sacrificed his left eye to Mimir's Well for mastery over magic and runes, but Shuo's ability threatened to render all that obsolete.

Kuroka and Rossweisse exchanged glances, both grinning. Their gamble on Shuo was paying off handsomely.

Shuo didn't waste time. He triggered the spell:

"Connect to Domination—wipe out all magic here!"

Instantly, the white mist and spatial seals vanished. The dimensional battlefield shattered, snapping Rias, Sona, and their teams—and the Old Satan Faction devils—back into reality.

Odin's eyes widened in shock. Even without that dragon power, Shuo's magic erasure was on a level that could threaten the Great Red itself.

"To finish off the Old Satan Faction and the Khaos Brigade, let's split up," Shuo said, grabbing Kuroka and Rossweisse. The trio blinked out, heading for Rias's location.

Sirzechs and the others nodded, faces grim as they divided into strike teams to mop up the attackers.

Shuo arrived to find Rias, Sona, and their teams pressing the advantage—despite being outnumbered, they were systematically taking down the Old Satan Faction devils. Most of the enemy were mid-class, with a few high-class, but Rias and Sona's girls had reached ultimate-class, and the rest weren't far behind. Their teamwork turned the tide.

Shuo decided to stay out of it, letting the girls fight through the crisis and gain real battlefield experience. Maybe, just maybe, someone would break through to Satan-class.

Suddenly, Shuo's eyes narrowed, catching movement in the shadows. Two sneaky little bugs thought they could hide from him. Cute—but naive.

By the time the dust settled, the field was littered with devil corpses. Rias, Sona, and their teams stood victorious, battered but alive.

Unfortunately, none had broken through to Satan-class. Their power had grown too quickly; they still lacked the grit of true combat experience.
