"Congratulations, Host, you have opened a Rainbow-Tier Sign-In Gift Pack and obtained the [Star Grail]."
As the radiant light faded, a geometric trophy materialized in Shuo's hands—a twelve-pointed, star-shaped polyhedron, glittering with impossible facets.
Star Grail:
Origin: [No Game No Life].
A conceptual miracle, omniscient and omnipotent. Whoever possesses it holds authority above all things—supreme dominion over the universe itself.
"The Star Grail?!"
Shuo's eyes went wide, heart skipping a beat.
This wasn't just any artifact. The Star Grail was the ultimate armament—the very concept that shaped the NGNL universe. With it, you could dominate reality, rewrite existence, even forge a new cosmos from scratch. Bending rules, twisting fate, reversing time? Child's play.
He claimed his prize.
The Star Grail's divine radiance flowed into him, merging with his soul. In that instant, Shuo felt it: the power to create worlds, to erase them, to remake everything with a thought.
He let out a low whistle. "Unreal…"
But a thought nagged at him. "Hey, System—will the Star Grail's authority be limited in other worlds?"
He remembered the anime's restrictions. No way something this broken would go unchecked everywhere.
The System replied, "In higher-level worlds, the Star Grail's authority will be limited. Only by collecting and fusing Star Grails from other worlds can you fully break those restraints."
"Additionally, each use of the Star Grail's authority consumes its source power. You must keep collecting Star Grails to replenish it."
Shuo grinned. That was fair. No such thing as a free lunch, even for gods. Satisfied, he turned to his final reward.
"Congratulations, Host, you have opened a Golden Gift Pack and obtained [Complete Lifeform Yefu Ability]."
Yefu?
Wait.
The so-called "strongest monster" from Ultraman Max—Yefu?
Shuo's pulse spiked.
Yefu had no soul, no mind, no thoughts—just a single, nightmarish power: absolute regeneration. Blow it to pieces, and it would reassemble in seconds. It could absorb and copy any attack, adapting and evolving with every blow. No wonder it was called the ultimate monster.
He felt the power fusing into him.
Shuo couldn't help but laugh. "Hahaha! With this, I can copy anyone's abilities? I'm basically invincible!"
He flexed his fingers, marveling at the surge of strength.
Star Grail and Yefu—what else could possibly threaten him now?
But with the DxD world's crisis resolved, a new question arose: where to go next?
The System's world list stretched on and on. So many choices, it was almost paralyzing.
After a moment's thought, Shuo shrugged and tapped a name at random.
"Ding~~ Initiating dimensional travel."
"Scanning… Target World: [Date A Live] detected. Locking spatial coordinates: Tengu City. Arrival time: early story arc."
A flash of light, a twist in his stomach—and suddenly Shuo stood atop a strange rooftop, city lights sprawling beneath him. The System's voice echoed in his mind, and he couldn't help but smile.
He knew this world by heart.
Spirits:
Beings from a neighboring dimension, mysterious and powerful. Whenever a Spirit crossed over, the world trembled—a [Spacequake], a cataclysmic explosion, would follow. Sometimes, the Spirits triggered them at will.
Thirty years ago, the first Spirit appeared. The resulting spacequake killed or injured 150 million people. Since then, the world had lived in fear, building warning systems and shelters. Most people knew nothing of Spirits—only that, when the alarms sounded, you ran.
Spirits always appeared as young women, clad in Astral Dress and wielding "Angels"—weapons of impossible power. Some had once been human, transformed by Spirit Crystals: Kotori, Origami, Kurumi, Miku…
And if a Spirit fell into despair, she would invert, becoming a darker, deadlier version—her Angel replaced by a Demon King.
Three factions vied for control:
Ratatoskr: Seeking peaceful solutions, using Itsuka Shido's power to seal Spirits.AST: A military group determined to eliminate Spirits by force.DEM Corporation: The most dangerous—intent on forcing Spirits to invert, stealing their crystals for their own ends.
Date A Live had been Shuo's gateway anime. He still remembered the fandom's classic chant: "Date A Live never dies—we'll stick with you till the end!"
Tohka, Kurumi, Origami—every Spirit girl was a dream come true.
He'd dropped the novels late in the game, unable to stomach the endless drama, but now? Now he was here. No regrets allowed.
"This… is literally my dream world," Shuo laughed, shaking his head.
Was he about to follow in Shido's footsteps? Maybe. But this time, he'd do things his own way.
"Don't worry, Shido. You can take it easy. I'll shoulder all the 'sins' for you."
He looked out over Tengu City—streets bustling, neon glowing, opportunity everywhere.
Sign-in missions lit up his map like fireworks. And with so many adorable Spirits around, the possibilities were endless.
But first, he needed to get his bearings. Glancing at the map, he spotted several red sign-in points nearby.
Suddenly, the city trembled.
A shrill alarm blared, echoing across rooftops and through the streets.
"Woooooooooooooooooooooo!!"
Before Shuo could process it, a calm, urgent voice broke through the noise:
"Attention! Attention! This is not a drill. This is not a drill. Foreshocks detected—we anticipate a spacequake. All residents, please proceed to the nearest shelter immediately."
"Repeating: This is not a drill, this is not a drill—"
Shuo's eyes lit up. "A spacequake? No way—did I just land right at Tohka's arrival?!"
Without hesitation, he vanished, racing toward the epicenter.
He wasn't about to let Shido beat him to the punch.
If Tohka had already been "sealed," he'd never forgive himself.
