24. Hello There

Leaving behind the bizarre scene created by the three zombies.

After finishing the search of the 6th floor, where there was no particular sign of movement, my phone rang with a quest completion notification.

[Congratulations! You have completed the quest 'Search and Destroy.']

[As a reward, 30MP and the 'Barricade' option have been added to the 'Shelter' function. Would you like to check it now? 'Yes / No']

When the system asked if I wanted to check the new feature right away, I moved to unit 604 instead of 603, where the dead zombies were lying around.

After closing the front door, I pressed the 'Yes' button.

[Shelter]

Entrance Reinforcement (Lv.0): Entrance strength increases by 0%. (Lv.1) – 25%, costs 10MP.

Electricity Supply (Lv.0): Supplies electricity to the base for a set time. (Lv.1) – 30 minutes, 10MP needed.

Water Supply (Lv.0): Supplies clean water to the base for a set time. (Lv.1) – 30 minutes, 10MP needed.

Heating and Gas Supply (Lv.0): Supplies heating and gas for a set time. (Lv.1) – 30 minutes, 10MP needed.

Fence Construction (Lv.0): Builds a fence on the ground where the base is located. (Lv.1) – Wooden fence (2m high), 100MP needed.

(New!) Barricade Construction (Lv.0): Build a barricade at the desired location. (Lv.1) – Barbed wire fence (15㎡), 30MP needed.

⚠︎ Each function can be extracted for 10~30MP and can later be applied to other bases.

...

With plenty of points and to block zombies or potentially dangerous survivors from other floors, I immediately invested 30MP to build a barricade.

After a few operations as the system instructed, a barbed wire fence sturdier than anything I'd seen in the army appeared at the 6th-floor stair entrance.

"Oh... this is better than I expected."

The fence was firmly fixed to the wall and floor, as if it had always been part of the building.

Even shaking it with my hands, it didn't budge. It looked like it could hold out against a horde of zombies.

There was even a door for a person to pass through, making the barricade practical as well.

For a moment, I even felt a sense of "security" from it.

After fencing off the 8th-floor stair entrance as well, I immediately returned to the apartment where Aunt was waiting.

Click.

"Minwoo!"

As soon as the door opened, Aunt Hyeyeon tried to hug me, her face full of relief.

Honestly, I wanted to pick her up, bury my face in her luscious breasts, and grab her 40-inch butt with both hands...

But I couldn't, because my suit was covered in zombie fluids.

Never mind getting Aunt's freshly changed clothes dirty-if any of that fluid got on her skin, it could be dangerous.

So I had no choice but to stop her with my bare, gloveless hand.

"Aunt, wait a second. There's a lot of zombie blood and other stuff on my suit..."

"Oh, okay..."

When I stopped her from hugging me-despite all we'd done together the night before-she couldn't hide her disappointed look and awkward voice.

That side of Aunt was so cute and lovable that I couldn't help but smile and whispered softly in her ear,

"Make sure to hug me a lot later. Until night."

"Hah... pervert △"

Aunt immediately caught the innuendo in my words about doing plenty of naughty things later, and gave me a sultry smile.

She called me a "pervert" and shot me a seductive look, which made the blood rush to my lower half, but cleaning up the zombie corpses on the 6th and 7th floors took priority.

If those things, leaking black blood, were left too long, the new bases would reek with a horrible stench...

...

"Ugh... car."

Thud!

While I was tossing corpses out the window,

Aunt, wearing a disposable raincoat, wiped up the black blood and fluids from the hallway and inside the apartment.

After I finished disposing of the bodies and joined in, it took about an hour to scrub away all the bloodstains.

Except for wallpaper deeply stained with blood, nearly everything was restored to how it was before the apocalypse.

"Whew... all done. Minwoo, you worked hard today."

"Yeah, I did. So let's hurry up and shower..."

As Aunt wiped the sweat from my forehead with a handkerchief, I couldn't help but show my pent-up desire.

Just then, outside unit 604 where we'd finished cleaning-specifically, near the fence-a woman's voice called out.

"Is anyone there?"

It was a woman's voice with a slightly awkward tone.

As I grabbed my crossbow and headed for the front door, Aunt followed, gripping the kitchen knife-spear she'd brought.

The barbed wire was sturdy, but-

Since the owner of the unfamiliar voice could be armed, I aimed my crossbow and carefully approached the door.

Soon, I saw a woman standing beyond the sturdy fence at the stair entrance.

A blonde foreign woman holding a large fire axe.

As soon as our eyes met through the wire, she gave an awkward smile and greeted us,

"Ah, hello there."

"Uh... yes, hello?"

"Please help me."

...

Clank, creak...

At my instruction to put down the axe first, the blonde foreigner obediently complied.

Maintaining caution, I carefully opened the fence door, and the woman, raising her hands, slowly entered and bowed her head.

"Thank you for letting me in."

She didn't stop at one bow, but kept bowing deeply at the waist as she expressed her thanks.

As her heavy breasts bounced under her black T-shirt, she tidied her messy hair and introduced herself.

"Um... first, my name is Catherine. But you can just call me Cassie."

For some reason, she pointed to her prominent chest as she said her name.

Then she began to explain how she got here.

"I was discharged from the U.S. military and taught English at a hagwon nearby. I went out for lunch as usual, but a motherless zombie appeared. So I ran and ended up at this apartment."

"So you're the one who built the barricade at the first-floor entrance?"

"Yes, that's right. I blocked it on the first night."

"You couldn't have done all that alone-are there other survivors downstairs?"

"Yes. Eleven people. Nine women, two men... but none of them have moms..."

When I asked if there were survivors downstairs, she showed anger on her face and called them "motherless."

The blue eyes of Cassie, who had seemed so kind, trembled-something bad must have happened.

"Why are there no moms? What happened downstairs?"

Grit...

When I asked what had happened with the survivors over the past two days, Cassie clenched her teeth and breathed heavily.

But only for a moment.

After a deep breath, she started telling her story from when she first entered the apartment.

"Hoo... On the first day, after I blocked the entrance and cleared up to the 5th floor, those motherless people crawled out."

Catherine Smith.

Now 34, she served 12 years in the U.S. military, earned a degree while serving, and then came to Korea to teach English at a language academy.

She'd been in Korea for six months.

She enjoyed teaching kids more than expected.

She liked the safety of life in Seoul, too-until a "zombie apocalypse" she'd never imagined broke out.

And it happened right in the middle of lunch.

"Fuck! Shit! Ddibal!"

A hellscape suddenly unfolded in downtown Seoul.

After fighting her way through with a found axe and a stream of curses, she ended up at the Purum Apartments where Kim Minwoo was staying.

After securing safety from the 1st to the 5th floor,

And, together with residents who came out late that night, building a barricade at the apartment entrance, she had hoped to get along with the other survivors.

But the selfishness and ugliness of people in a life-or-death situation was much worse than she'd imagined.

"Oh, miss, thank you."

"Thank you, thank you."

Once the barricade was up and basic safety secured, the residents immediately stopped talking to her and hid in their own homes.

At least a kind-looking man in his sixties invited her in, so she got a late meal and a place to sleep...

But that's when Cassie's ordeal began.

The next day,

At a meeting in a third-floor apartment to discuss what to do next,

"We need to clear up to the 20th floor to secure enough resources to survive until rescue."

When Cassie argued for securing all of lines 3 and 4, the women residents, all in their 40s and 50s, voted against it.

"The government says the army will be back in a week, so why take the risk?"

"Yeah, right."

"We all have enough food for two weeks, so let's talk again if things change."

Cassie could accept that.

Unlike her, they had homes and weren't desperate yet.

So she figured they just didn't want to take risks.

But then, unexpected "territorialism" greeted her.

"Why is that foreign woman acting like she lives here?"

"Yeah... and what kind of grown woman just goes into a man's house alone..."

Even as the world was ending, the ajummas couldn't let go of their prejudices, belittling Cassie, who'd saved them.

She could have let the gossip go...

But what happened the second night changed her mind completely.

"Thank you for the meal and the room, sir."

After once again thanking the homeowner, Lee Chang-seop, for giving her a room, Cassie went to bed.

She was determined to persuade a few people to search the upper floors the next day, but about three hours after she closed her eyes-

Someone pressed up against her back as she lay on her side.

Then a rough hand lifted the blanket and grabbed her large breast.

Squeeze♡

At the same time, Cassie's eyes and mouth flew open.

"Ddi-baaaal!!"
