Over Sokovia, an invisible Quinjet hovered silently in mid-air. Inside were all the Avengers. This time, to ensure victory, Thor had even called on some of his Asgardian allies.
In the underground Ultron base in Sokovia, Allens sat on a metal throne, lightly tapping the armrest with his right hand. In front of him, Ultron, Scarlet Witch Wanda, and Quicksilver Pietro looked at Allens with awe.
Swish.
A holographic projection suddenly appeared in Ultron's eyes. It showed a transparent mid-air view above Sokovia. According to Ultron's scans, a Quinjet was parked there.
"Go. Ultron, teach these Avengers a lesson."
Allens' gaze was cold and ruthless. He didn't need to act himself—Ultron could handle it all.
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh.
Following Allens' silent order, Ultron's head tilted slightly, sending commands to the Ultron army.
Suddenly, each Ultron robot on standby emerged from the underground base. Their mechanical eyes glowed red, and their jet engines released puffs of gas, propelling them into the air.
Boom, boom, boom.
Missiles mounted on their shoulders fired in unison, arcing toward the Quinjet. Explosions erupted in the sky as the missiles struck.
The Quinjet, hit by the missiles, became visible. Flames erupted from its wings as it plummeted toward the ground.
Boom.
The Quinjet crashed into a residential building, collapsing it instantly. Terrified residents fled in panic.
The chaos spread like wildfire. Residents in surrounding blocks screamed and ran in every direction. Streets became jammed with frantic civilians. Wails, cries for help, and screams of pain filled the air over Sokovia, drawing frowns from the Avengers.
"Hey… I don't want to fight while innocent people are in danger."
In mid-air, Tony Stark, clad in his silver-white Anti-Allens Armor, frowned. His voice carried a hint of complaint.
"Stark, do you even know what you're saying?" Captain Steve Rogers snapped. "The people of Sokovia are crying for help. As Avengers, we cannot just stand by and watch."
Tony shrugged. "Fine, Captain, you have the final say."
The Avengers flew toward the streets, aiming to rescue civilians. But as they approached, the fleeing Sokovia citizens froze, raising their hands toward the Avengers.
"This doesn't feel right," Tony muttered, frowning. Captain Rogers also sensed danger.
Boom, boom, boom.
Missiles seemed to materialize out of nowhere. The civilians vanished, replaced by metallic, artificially created droids.
Rogers and Stark took the brunt of the initial assault. Their Vibranium-infused suits absorbed most of the kinetic energy, but both were thrown back, slightly staggered.
"F***k… Friday, what the hell just happened?" Tony exclaimed, struggling to regain his balance.
"Boss, according to the scan," came a cold female voice, "it seems the previous civilians were illusions. The technique is too realistic for me to distinguish."
Tony scowled. "Doesn't matter. Let's show these little guys what's up."
Raising his right hand, Tony fired the palm cannon. Crimson energy surged sideways, blasting through the Ultron robots.
Boom, boom, boom.
To Tony's surprise, all his attacks passed harmlessly through the Ultron droids—they were intangible.
Peng, peng, peng.
Three Ultron robots restrained Tony. One choked his neck, another pinned his arms, and a third applied magnetic force to lock him in place.
Whoosh, whoosh.
From the sky, Hawkeye Barton, wearing his steel battle suit, released three titanium arrows, striking the restraining Ultron robots.
"You're welcome, Mr. Stark," Hawkeye's voice came through the communicator.
Tony smiled, breaking free from the magnetic hold and soaring into the air.
Meanwhile, Sokovia's terrain erupted with Ultron robots, emerging from the soil, water, and streets. The city had become a metallic kingdom.
A three-meter-tall Ultron, now reinforced with Vibranium, landed in front of Tony. Its sleek frame radiated menace.
"Tony Stark… time for revenge."
On the ground, a blur of motion appeared. Quicksilver Pietro's eyes burned with hatred as he gave the Avengers a defiant gesture.
"Ultron Legion, attack!"
Ultron waved a hand, and countless Ultron robots swarmed toward the Avengers, covering both sky and ground.
"Illusion."
On the roof of a church in Sokovia, an Allens duplicate in a black robe held Loki's scepter—minus the Mind Gem—in his right hand. The scepter hovered ominously, and a terrifying illusion spell instantly blanketed the entire city.
