Chapter 168 - Chapter 168 Asgard's Sentry Crisis

In Asgard, small spacecrafts sped through the skies. Despite their disdain for technology, Asgardian warriors had no choice but to pilot these compact ships as they charged toward the Sentry units floating above.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Beams of divine energy burst from the small ships, releasing immense power that rippled through the air like waves.

These weapons were far more advanced than the Tesseract-based technology once developed by HYDRA on Earth.

No Asgardian dared to take such a hit lightly.

"Mr. Allens, please eliminate these troublesome pests!"

The illusionary duplicate of Loki—the God of Mischief—who had been giving an impassioned speech on the ground, shouted as the beams of divine energy lit up the sky.

"As you command, Lord God-King Loki… 'Zero.'"

Allens simply nodded. Behind him, hundreds of Sentinels surged forward, rushing toward the incoming energy fire.

The reason for using Loki's illusion was simple: Allens wanted Asgard to believe this was merely a struggle between Odin's sons for the throne—not an external invasion.

He knew that if Asgard confirmed an attack from beyond its realm, they would risk everything to awaken Odin from the Odinsleep.

Even a weakened All-Father would be enough to put Allens at a disadvantage.

"Energy Absorption Module online. Analyzing energy structure… Analysis complete. Source identified: Asgardian divine power. Beginning conversion and absorption process."

The single mechanical eyes of each Sentinel glowed with streams of data as their chest cores emitted a powerful pull, absorbing all divine energy beams into their bodies.

"Excess divine power detected. Activating Psychokinesis Module. Charging… releasing psychic energy."

Several Sentinels in the front row, overloaded with divine energy, extended their hands. An overwhelming wave of psychic force exploded outward, sweeping across the skies. The Asgardian ships were knocked from the air like falling meteors.

"Activating Cryo Module…"

Other Sentinels followed, their eyes flashing with a deep blue glow. A blast of freezing energy struck the ground below, rapidly encasing the area in thick ice.

Crack… crack…

The earth froze solid. Asgardian warriors trapped in their ships were instantly sealed within the ice. Within moments, several kilometers of land were consumed by a frozen wasteland.

"Activating Quantum Bridge Module…"

Blue circles of light shimmered before several Sentinels, flickering—and in an instant, they vanished.

A heartbeat later, the same circles appeared behind unsuspecting Asgardian warriors.

From within the portals, Sentinels thrust spears of condensed divine energy through the warriors' backs, impaling their hearts.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

In a blur of blue flashes, more than a dozen Asgardians fell. The Sentinels' chest plates split open, and their mechanical bodies enveloped the fallen warriors.

"What the hell are these things?!"

"Ward! Activate the Divine Wave Annihilation Cannon—now!"

"Asgardians! Fear nothing! For Asgard—kill these bastards!"

Inside the Gates of Asgard, a hundred remaining warriors stood ready, sweat glistening beneath their armor.

Ward, clad in silver battle armor and a steel helmet, received the command and immediately activated the massive energy cannon atop the Gates.

BOOM!

From above the Gate, a brilliant energy beam—like the very Eye of Judgment—condensed and unleashed a devastating blast of destructive power.

Rumble!

The colossal beam tore through the sky, obliterating hundreds of Sentinels in its path. Allens, however, stood directly in the center of the blast zone.

"J.A.R.V.I.S., activate the Psychokinesis Barrier."

Allens raised his right hand as his visor's eyes flared with light.

A translucent wall of psychic energy rippled outward, forming an invisible tide that blocked the beam completely.

The massive energy cannon struck the barrier—but it didn't even tremble.

Instead, the force was absorbed and dissipated into the air, fading like sparks in the wind.

"Ha! I might not have killed their leader, but at least I destroyed hundreds of those damn robots!"

Ward exhaled in relief—but his expression twisted to horror a second later.

Above the sky, the destroyed Sentinels' remains began to glow. From their severed heads, faint orbs of light appeared as their internal modules reactivated.

"Warning. System integrity failure. Engaging emergency Nanite Regeneration Module… Activation complete. Commencing full-body repair."

The broken Sentinels' nanostructures began replicating at insane speed. Their bodies reformed piece by piece until they were whole once again—larger, stronger, and even more menacing than before.

"Damn it… self-repairing machines?!"

The Asgardian warriors standing before the Gates felt their courage falter. Even against Jotunheim's armies, they had never lost their composure—but surrounded by hundreds of regenerating Sentinels, unease crept into their hearts.

A faint, unmistakable fear.

"Surrender… or be destroyed!"

Loki, the God of Mischief, raised his scepter high and floated above the ground, his tone dripping with arrogance and triumph.

"Hahaha! Loki, have you forgotten your title? The God of Trickery! No Asgardian would ever surrender to you! We are warriors—brave and unyielding!"

Even facing death, one Asgardian warrior mocked him without hesitation.

"Foolish choice."

Loki snarled in rage, pointing his scepter forward. Instantly, a Sentinel behind him unleashed a wave of psychic energy, blasting the taunting warrior off his feet.

"Loki! Stop this madness! There is only one true King of Asgard—and that's Thor!"

From the skies, a massive warship burst forth from a spatial jump. Aboard were heavily armed Asgardian soldiers, led by the fierce warrior Lady Sif, her battle armor gleaming under the light.

"You're surrounded, Loki. Surrender while you still can."

An Asgardian wielding a massive battle axe smirked coldly. He, like the others, never had any respect for Loki—the self-proclaimed God of Trickery.
