Chapter 4 - End and beginning

She had spent too long chasing someone, trying to fill a void she didn't even understand. Every word, every gesture, every small sign felt like an invitation, and yet, nothing ever seemed to change. She gave and gave, hoping that somehow, it would be enough to make them see her the way she saw them. But the more she tried, the further they seemed to slip away. The truth was hard to accept—she wasn't the one they were looking for.

In the beginning, she blamed herself. Maybe she wasn't pretty enough, not funny enough, not outgoing enough. She looked for flaws within, trying to find the key to winning their attention. But the harder she tried, the emptier she felt. It wasn't love—it was desperation. She was chasing something that was never meant to be hers.

But one day, in the quiet of her thoughts, something clicked. She realized that the love she had been chasing wasn't about them—it was about the love she needed to give herself. She had been looking for validation from someone else, hoping that someone would complete her, but in doing so, she had neglected the one person who truly mattered: herself.

She stopped blaming herself for the way things had turned out. It wasn't her fault. Sometimes, people just aren't ready to love you, or they have their own battles to fight. It was time to let go, not with bitterness or regret, but with understanding. People come into your life for a reason, and sometimes, that reason is to teach you to love yourself first.

The people who truly mattered were the ones who stood by her when she was at her lowest—the ones who loved her without needing anything in return. Those were the people who proved their worth, and they were the ones she needed to focus on.

She made the decision to stop chasing someone who couldn't love her back. It wasn't about giving up—it was about understanding her own worth. She no longer needed someone to complete her. She was complete on her own.

As she let go of the past, she began to find peace. She understood now that when you truly love yourself, you stop chasing after anyone's affection. You stop settling for crumbs when you deserve the whole cake. The right person would come along when the time was right.

And if they didn't? Well, that was okay too. Because the love she had been searching for had always been inside her. She just needed to learn how to give it to herself.
