Chapter 31 - Chapter 31: Please Teach Me!

"First question!"

At Eriri's home, after Sawamura Sayuri forcibly dragged Eriri back, she was about to start seriously educating her daughter.

Facing Eriri, who was sitting on the bed as if on pins and needles, Sawamura Sayuri was more serious than ever before.

"Do you understand the situation of that Aki kid?"

The first rule of making friends is to understand the basic current situation of your friends, which in short is intelligence gathering.

Eriri pursed her pink lips and said hesitantly, "Preparing for exams..."

That's right, according to Eriri's understanding, her childhood friend Aki Tomoya, who decided to stop being a shut-in, was currently in the midst of intense exam preparation.

And the moment Eriri said the two words "preparing for exams," Sawamura Sayuri's eyes lit up, emitting a gaze that made Eriri feel immense pressure.

"Fail!"

Sawamura Sayuri pulled out a large paper fan from somewhere and slapped it heavily on the bed. A loud *slap* echoed in Eriri's ears, making Eriri tense up all over.

"Eriri, do you know how important the University entrance exam is for a student?! Have you understood its seriousness?!"

Sawamura Sayuri shouted loudly at Eriri, afraid that Eriri wouldn't understand the reasoning behind it.

"Students in Japan can be simply divided into two halves: one half chooses to find employment after graduating from high school, or some of them are active in high school clubs, choosing sports, art, or music, while the other half of students strive towards University. And in Japan, if you want to get into University, what the school teaches is only enough to cope with the level of the National Examination!"

Stating the severity, perhaps Eriri only knew the tension of rushing manuscripts before doujinshi events, but couldn't comprehend that a group of people had already been competing since they chose schools in junior high.

In Japan, studying equals money. Will the school give you tutoring?

If you fail, they will indeed make you catch up until you pass, but that's all there is to it.

In any country, studying is linked to money, and this is even more true in Japan, a place that supposedly practices relaxed education.

But China is different. Many schools provide tutoring for students, and Teachers don't get any benefits from it. Domestic exam-oriented education has tried its best to give students without resources the capital to compete!

However, if you want to get into University in Japan and you're not a genius, expensive cram schools are a necessary choice!

"Aki Tomoya is currently in his second year of high school, and as far as I know, his grades were mediocre before that, and he was completely immersed in the world of anime and manga. Let's not even talk about whether choosing Tokyo University as his goal is too unrealistic. So, the second question, do you know what you need to do to get into Tokyo University?"

Sawamura Sayuri, like a Teacher, explained Aki Tomoya's current situation to Eriri step by step, trying her best to make Eriri understand the pros and cons involved.

Facing the questions from her Mother, Sawamura Sayuri, Eriri felt immense pressure and subconsciously clutched the bedsheet. Her bright eyes were filled with confusion, and her gaze couldn't help but start avoiding her Mother's eyes.

"I... I don't know..."

Of course she didn't understand. Before high school, Eriri had been attending public schools with Aki Tomoya and couldn't experience the kind of pressure found in private schools focused on college entry.

Moreover, college entry wasn't her path. Family background and ideals were the biggest differences between Eriri and Aki Tomoya now!

The corner of Sawamura Sayuri's mouth curled up slightly. Seeing her daughter's current predicament, she chuckled inwardly, but her face still maintained a serious expression.

"Let me tell you, before that Aki kid takes the Tokyo University exam, the first thing he needs to review is the first test, which is the seven subjects of the National Examination. Regardless of whether he's applying for the humanities or science stream at Tokyo University, the first thing he needs to sort out is his scores in the seven subjects of the National Examination!"

To be honest, Sawamura Sayuri was also sweating a little about Aki Tomoya choosing Tokyo University, and specifically Science Stream 3.

Starting from the second year of high school, this starting point is already a headache.

But this was Aki Tomoya's choice, and Sawamura Sayuri didn't want to comment further. What she needed to do now was to let her daughter Eriri understand Aki Tomoya's situation at the moment.

"In less than two years, the most urgent thing for him right now is to review seven subjects to prepare for the National Examination and raise his score rate above last year's cutoff line!"

More than her daughter, Sawamura Sayuri understood very well how important it was for Aki Tomoya to make a final push within a limited time.

For Aki Tomoya, this was an extremely tense period.

Golden Week?

Don't be funny. For students preparing for exams, holidays are an important sprint phase, especially when you don't have a Teacher planning for you. How you plan your own time is a very important matter.

"What were you thinking, going to find him at a time like this?"

Here, Sawamura Sayuri issued a question that could interrogate Eriri's soul.

You know he's preparing for exams. At this stage, he has no time for romance, *spit*, or playing with friends!

Get a grip. I have to worry about things like this? Are making friends problems for teenagers this troublesome?

But then again, when she saw Eriri muster up the courage to go find Aki Tomoya, Sawamura Sayuri, who knew Aki Tomoya wasn't home, didn't come out to stop her right away.

Eriri was speechless at this moment and could only look pitifully at her Mother, Sawamura Sayuri.

Listening to your words is better than studying for ten years!

How foolish it is to go and bother someone when they are intensely preparing for exams.

"That Aki kid, if he slacks off even a little, he might fall into an abyss. Even if he passes the preliminary exam, the internal re-examination at Tokyo University is not that easy to pass, especially for the Science Stream 3 exam. Now it depends on how much time he can take to finish reviewing the seven subjects for the National Examination and then train specifically for the Tokyo University exam."

Seizing the opportunity, Sawamura Sayuri also reminded Eriri that even if Aki Tomoya passed the preliminary National Examination and was qualified to enter the Tokyo University re-examination, that's where the real competition begins.

The biggest enemy Sawamura Sayuri saw facing Aki Tomoya was none other than time!

How much time would it take to finish reviewing the seven subjects for the National Examination, and how much time would be left to review the scope of the Tokyo University science exams...

Under Sawamura Sayuri's guidance, Eriri's mind was filled with many such questions.

Eriri was now breathing out white air, as if frozen in place, her whole body looking like it was about to ascend to heaven.

"Get a grip, Eriri!"

Sawamura Sayuri sighed, holding her forehead.

"...Please teach me, Master!"

M-Master?!

Sawamura Sayuri burst into laughter. I'm your biological mother!

But as a Mother, she is also a child's first Teacher, so there's nothing wrong with that.
