Chapter 69 - Chapter 69: Another Year's Summer Festival (1/6)

From the beginning of July until after mid-August in Japan, it can be said to be quite lively.

Because all sorts of festivals, big and small, are clustered together: Tanabata, Lantern Festival fairs, Fireworks Display, Obon.

Summer Festival doesn't just refer to a specific festival day; it's more of a general term.

Those lively festival fairs attract countless people from all over Japan every year.

"Tomorrow seems to be the Fireworks Display, right?"

In the evening, when the Academy was about to start tutoring, Mr. Tsubota asked the students who were tidying up.

The Fireworks Display in mid-August almost always falls after the CM Doujin Exhibition ends.

"Are you going to the fair and the Fireworks Display tomorrow night?"

Mr. Tsubota asked next.

After that, some nodded, and some shook their heads.

Those who didn't have tutoring tomorrow could find time to relax at the Summer Festival and watch the fireworks.

However, those who had to come to the Academy tomorrow didn't have as much free time.

For example, Aki Tomoya. August 15th wasn't a Sunday, so he would naturally stay at the Academy until very late to finish his day's revision.

But Kudo Sayaka next to him was different. Since she didn't have tutoring tomorrow, she had already made plans with her friends to have a great time together at the Summer Festival tomorrow night.

It seems that the Fireworks Display and such don't have much to do with those who have tutoring at the Academy tomorrow.

"What a shame! Those who have tutoring tomorrow will have to watch the fireworks here with Harumi Sensei and me!"

Mr. Tsubota suddenly burst into laughter at this moment.

Because of the various festivals in July and August, companies of all sizes in Japan would more or less give their employees time off, especially for Obon.

Unfortunately, cram school instructors didn't have such good fortune.

They probably only get Sundays off each week. In Mr. Tsubota's case, even on Sundays, he has to arrange study plans for every student at the Academy from home.

Having just finished a day of intense revision, the atmosphere instantly relaxed because of Mr. Tsubota's words.

A wave of laughing complaints rippled through the Academy.

But honestly, because of Mr. Tsubota's words, most students didn't seem to mind not being able to enjoy the holiday as much anymore.

Although they were tired, it seemed they relaxed a bit because of his words just now.

"Ah, Aki-kun has to stay here tomorrow to watch the fireworks with Tsubota-sensei and Harumi Sensei. I'll enjoy it thoroughly with my friends tomorrow night, taking your share with me."

Kudo Sayaka sighed and looked at Aki Tomoya next to her as if with sympathy.

Tokyo University aspirant, six days of tutoring a week, tough work!

"You're really gloating, aren't you…"

Aki Tomoya didn't mind what Kudo Sayaka said. After all, he had a good time relaxing at the Summer CM Doujin Exhibition a few days ago.

Summer Festival happens every year, and the Fireworks Display happens once a year…

"There's nothing wrong with watching the Fireworks Display here together, right?"

Harumi Junko said something at this moment.

However, her words didn't attract everyone's attention. In this Academy, Harumi Junko's authority was still too small.

But if Mr. Tsubota, this veteran figure, made an appearance, the effect would be different.

"Let's go upstairs to watch the fireworks together at eight tomorrow night. For those students who don't have to come to the Academy tomorrow, please rest well. After the Fireworks Display, this year's summer vacation will be almost over."

Mr. Tsubota suggested.

The effect of his words was completely different from Harumi Junko's.

This must be trust. The students at the Academy, including Aki Tomoya, all trusted this Teacher very much.

In contrast, Harumi Junko, the new Teacher who had just joined Aomine Cram School two months ago, had left a bad impression on everyone from the start. Even though she had shown enthusiasm recently, it would still take some time for her to gradually gain the students' trust.

Those who had to come to the Academy tomorrow had no objections to Mr. Tsubota's suggestion.

The Fireworks Display starts at 8 PM, and by then, everyone would have been revising all day from morning till night. Going upstairs to watch the fireworks together at that time could be considered a relaxation after a busy day.

They wouldn't be watching the fireworks with friends, but with a group of comrades at the Academy.

"I really envy Tsubota-sensei!"

Harumi Junko didn't know what else to say besides expressing her admiration.

Trusted by every student, he displayed a demeanor comparable to that of instructors in top-tier Academies, even in an ordinary Academy.

And under his influence, every student at the Academy was full of motivation.

Truly, not only could she not be compared to Mr. Tsubota, but even the students seemed more outstanding than her, an adult.

"If you envy others so much, why don't you just work harder?"

As he was leaving, Aki Tomoya couldn't help but remind Harumi Junko.

Even though this foolish woman had shown signs of improvement recently, she often still showed her dejected side, just like in the beginning.

"You keep saying you'll help me get into Tokyo University, putting my fate in your hands, I'm scared now!"

Harumi Junko had the ability, but she still lacked confidence at the moment.

Last time, he heard her complaining that her Mother at home had no hope for her and said things like 'act within your capabilities'. Her lack of confidence was completely exposed in her tone of complaint.

"Ah, I'm being looked down upon by a student more than ten years younger than me again."

Harumi Junko seemed to have gotten used to it, not showing much expression on her face at this moment.

Just when Aki Tomoya thought she was about to give up on herself again like before, a stubborn look appeared in Harumi Junko's eyes.

"Aki-kun, listen up. Never underestimate the determination of a thirty-year-old woman. Not only will I get you into Tokyo University, but I'll also get Kudo-kun into Keio!"

Even though she was clearly a thirty-one-year-old 'obasan', she occasionally said such incredibly cool things at times like this.

The gap between them surprised Aki Tomoya more than once or twice.

Seeing how cool she was, Aki Tomoya decided not to use the fact that she was thirty-one and still single to attack her.

After saying goodbye to the two teachers, Aki Tomoya rode his bicycle back home.

Just as he finished showering and was about to go to bed, another message appeared on Line.

Signed Eriri.

Aki Tomoya was not surprised that Eriri would still contact him. After that day, after apologizing to each other for the past, not only did Eriri's knot in her heart dissipate, but the last trace of resentment that had settled in Aki Tomoya's heart also vanished into thin air.

"Do you have time to watch the Fireworks Display after tutoring tomorrow night?"

Eriri asked on Line.

"Sorry, I'll be back from the Academy tomorrow, and the Fireworks Display should be over by then."

Although it was a shame, Aki Tomoya could only reply like this.

Saying this the day before the Fireworks Display, Aki Tomoya had no way to arrange it in advance.

About half a minute later, Eriri replied, "It's a shame, it seems like it'll just be me and that woman Kasumigaoka tomorrow night ε=(′ο`*)))"

At first, Aki Tomoya had no reaction after reading Eriri's reply.

But about ten seconds later, he noticed the words "Kasumigaoka" in the lines.

At that moment, Aki Tomoya was stunned.
