Kyle frowned. To be honest, he didn't want anyone else, not even Dumbledore, to teach him magic involving memories and thoughts.
And it wasn't just him; many wizards thought the same way, a point Chris should be well aware of.
But judging from Chris's expression, he seemed to trust him completely.
Kyle hesitated, not directly refusing, deciding to go and see for himself first.
If things didn't work out, he could always find an excuse to leave.
After agreeing, Chris originally planned to take Kyle to see the teacher after his birthday, but Kyle didn't think so.
Birthdays could be celebrated every year, one more year wouldn't make a difference, and he was also very concerned about the so-called Occlumency teacher, wanting to confirm the other party's identity as soon as possible.
If it didn't seem suitable, he could quickly think of another way.
Since Kyle had made this request, Chris naturally had no objections.
The two arrived at an open area outside the room. Chris stretched out his arm and said, "We'll just Apparate there. Grab my arm."
Kyle took a deep breath and grabbed the outstretched arm.
"Alright, let's go!"
With a loud bang, the two vanished from their spot.
When Kyle opened his eyes again, he was standing in front of a red-roofed wooden house.
The house wasn't large, but it was cozy, with every corner meticulously cleaned. A low fence surrounded it, and an elderly couple was smiling at them.
"Grandpa Newt?"
"Grandma Tina?"
Kyle looked at the two people in front of him with some surprise.
He hadn't expected that the teachers Chris had mentioned were Newt and Tina, but if it was them, then it was fine.
"Little Kyle, weren't you supposed to be learning Occlumency? What are you waiting for? Come on in."
Tina pinched Kyle's cheek, led him into the room, and brought him a lot of cookies and homemade bread rolls.
Kyle sighed inwardly. Although he had just eaten breakfast, he had still eaten a lot, stuffing his mouth full.
Only when he couldn't eat anymore did Kyle rub his stomach and ask, "Grandma Tina, are you teaching me this time?"
Of all the people in the room, Tina was probably the most skilled in Occlumency.
There was no way around it; her sister Queenie was a natural Legilimency user, and if she wasn't good at Occlumency, she wouldn't have any secrets from her sister.
Tina smiled and shook her head, saying, "I'll only teach you the basic theory, but what happens after that is none of my business."
"Not you?" Kyle was taken aback, turning to Newt with some confusion .
"It's not me, kid." Newt placed an open box on the ground and said with a smile, "Come with me, I'll show you to it."
Uh…
seeing the box, Kyle immediately had a bad feeling.
But Newt had already gone inside, so he could only follow.
The box was very large, incredibly large. It was overgrown with trees, and even had several complete rivers and lakes, looking just like a real forest.
Newt led Kyle to a clearing by a lake.
Upon seeing the two of them, a Wmapus cat gracefully approached from a distance, seemingly waiting for them.
Its bright blue eyes stared at Newt and Kyle, and it lowered its head slightly.
"This is Nadalie." Newt gently scratched the leopard cat's chin and said with a smile, "Remember, Kyle? Every Wampus cat is a natural Legilimence."
"Of course… I remember."
Kyle's lips twitched, his bad premonition growing stronger.
At this moment, Chris also walked over, patted Kyle on the shoulder, and said with a smile, "How's it going? The teacher I found for you isn't bad, is it?"
"So, my teacher really is the Wampus cat Nadalie?"
"That's right." Chris said, "To learn Occlumency as quickly as possible, you need enough pressure, because only in this way can you stimulate the strong emotions deep within you. So we discussed it and unanimously decided to have Nadalie as your teacher, and it agreed."
"After you learn the basic theory, we will send you here, and then she will attack you. What you have to do is try not to get too badly beaten."
"If you can hold out for five minutes without getting hurt, it proves that your Occlumency has been successful."
"Wait…five minutes?" Kyle suddenly interrupted Chris, saying incredulously, "This is a Wampus cat! Even if I learned Occlumency, I definitely wouldn't be a match for it."
A six-legged Wampus cat is one of the fastest magical creatures. To put it bluntly, if it wanted to beat Kyle, it wouldn't even need Legilimency; that would be unnecessary.
"Don't worry," Newt reassured him, "Nadalie is smart; she knows what to do."
"But…"
Kyle wanted to say something more, but the Wampus cat named Nadalie walked over and gently nuzzled his face.
"Meow…"
"Of course I believe you." Kyle quickly scratched its chin. "I just think this method is a bit unreliable…"
"On the contrary, I think it's the perfect way to do it." Chris said seriously, "If we were teaching you, we would also use Legilimency to create pressure on you, just like with the cat-leopard.
But the difference is that the Wampus cat can practice with you anytime, anywhere, which we can't do.
Also, she won't expose the little secrets in your head."
Kyle thought about it and suddenly felt that Chris's words made a lot of sense.
Being Legilimency doesn't feel good, but if it's the Wampus cat, it's definitely easier to accept.
"Okay, I agree." Kyle nodded.
The Wampus cat purred contentedly, then raised its front leg and kicked Kyle in the rear with a perfect front kick.
"Whoosh!"
As expected, Kyle spun and flew into the lake next to him.
Chris and Newt were startled, but they quickly guessed what had happened.
"Looks like we don't need to teach him the basics," Newt said with a chuckle. "I'm going to check on Ana; she recently gave birth to a litter of Nifflers and is still quite weak.
What about you? Are you going back to the Ministry?"
Chris shook his head. "I'll go with you; I'm on vacation today."
Newt nodded and walked towards another area.
Chris followed, but after a few steps, he suddenly stopped, turned around, and called out, "Remember not to use any spells!"
A hand emerged from the lake and waved at him.
