Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Beauty and the Beast

"Master, Snow is in trouble!"

Song Shiyu was in his study holding a video conference when Jiang An knocked on the door.

He frowned slightly, "Pause the meeting."

Saying this, he directly ended the video call, "Come in."

"Master, when the keeper went to feed Snow, it was fine, but after a while, it started running around like crazy. They couldn't stop it, and now it's already at the front gate."

Jiang An pushed open the door and walked straight to the desk, taking the tablet to show the surveillance at the front gate.

"Roar!"

The Snow Leopard was currently roaring anxiously on the spot.

A group of armed security guards surrounded it, trying several times to approach but failing.

Song Shiyu looked at the screen, unbuttoned the top button of his shirt, stood up, and said as he walked, "Tell them to put down their weapons and back off."

"Yes!"

"Notify the team with the tranquilizer gun to get in position discreetly before I arrive. Don't let Snow see them."

"Okay, I'll arrange it right away! Master, shouldn't you also put on protective clothing... Master?"

Jiang An was listening intently to the arrangements when he suddenly noticed that the person in front had stopped moving.

"What's wrong, Master?"

Following his gaze, Jiang An saw a petite figure hanging on the big iron gate!

No, that's not right!

She wasn't hanging; she was climbing up!

"Youyou, be careful."

Chi Zaozao looked up at the figure climbing up and warned loudly.

"Don't worry, this iron gate isn't as tall as the big banyan tree behind the hill."

"I know! Just don't break the big iron gate!"

"Tsk..."

Chi Youyou paused her small body at those words, realizing that this brat wasn't being entirely sincere.

She ignored him and, with a light tap of her toes, climbed gracefully up the iron gate like a nimble little cat, swiftly descended, and landed lightly on the ground.

"Keep an eye on things here and wait for me to come back."

She adjusted her clothes, instructed the little figure outside the gate, and then ran over.

"Roar—"

The Snow Leopard seemed to sense a threat, locking its sharp gaze on them and baring its fangs.

"Looks like we'll have to use force. You two..."

"Hold on!"

Chi Youyou rushed in front of them, stopping them.

"Put the weapons down. You're only going to provoke it further."

"Where did this little girl come from?"

"What are you doing here?"

"Old Zhao, do you know her?"

The team leader furrowed his brow and asked after hearing the guard's words.

"She... she's here to find the Master..."

"Nonsense! Hurry up and grab her."

"Wait, Captain, look!"

Someone in the crowd shouted, interrupting their conversation.

Chi Youyou, back facing them, crouched down and slowly approached the Snow Leopard, making a cooing sound as she did.

"Shh... there, there, don't be afraid. I know you're uncomfortable. I'll help you take off what's bothering you."

Amazingly, the Snow Leopard seemed to understand and stopped roaring at her, just letting out low growls, which sounded more like it was venting frustration.

!!!

"Good~"

Chi Youyou's small hand touched the Snow Leopard's head, lightly massaging it at its favorite spot.

The Snow Leopard instantly calmed down, cooing softly and acting coquettish.

"Purr..."

"Okay, okay, calm down. It'll be over soon."

Everyone was stunned at this moment!

Even Song Shiyu, behind the screen, stood frozen.

He squinted, as if trying to see through the girl on the screen.

Since Snow was brought here, no one, except for him, could get close, let alone touch it!

The keeper could only feed it from a distance.

Who is she, really?

*

Chi Youyou inspected its body and finally found a tiny object on its back.

"Luckily, I brought the potion."

She took a small bottle from her satchel, sprayed its back a few times, and soon the Snow Leopard stopped making distressed noises, reverting to its usual aloof demeanor.

"There! Snow's all better!"

"Young lady, what exactly happened here? What did you just spray?"

"This is a potion I specially made. It's very effective against ticks. It's probably never been bitten before, so being bitten for the first time was especially uncomfortable. You see, it's fine now. This is quite common in our mountains; pets at home encounter this from time to time."

As she spoke, her small finger scratched its fluffy chin, and the Snow Leopard cooperatively let out a cry.

"We owe it to the young lady this time. I am Uncle Zhang, the steward of the Imperial Garden. How should I address you, young lady, and what brings you to the Imperial Garden?" Seeing the situation, the steward who had been observing came over and asked kindly.

Chi Youyou, having enough of petting, stood up, crossing her hands in front of her, and smiled sweetly and innocently, "Hello, I'm Chi Youyou, here to find my fiancé, Song Shiyu."
