Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: I Have Burial Goods

Knowing there's a treasury here, I'm actually the most surprised one. For thousands of years, countless Tomb Robbers have perished here. They couldn't even scrap any junk metal, leading me to believe this was a desolate empty tomb.

I've long been puzzled. The scale and mechanism setup of this tomb are extraordinary. To be able to construct such a complex and grand mausoleum, yet have no decent burial objects, does that make sense?

If there were burial items, I could grab a few and wouldn't end up on the streets.

In my own tomb, finding my burial goods is this difficult; where's the justice in that?

So upon hearing there's a treasury, I'm more excited than the others, unable to suppress the upward curve of my lips.

"Professor Chen, look, Little Fu is sneering again. Does she not want to go to the treasury?" Wen Jing whispered, trying hard to lower his voice.

But I still heard it, glancing back at him with a glare, thinking to myself, what a joke, I haven't even seen my own treasures, so desperate am I to dig them out and see, why wouldn't I want to go!

"You've never been here before?"

"No, I've only moved around in the safe area."

"What are you afraid of, with us here, even a dragon's den or a tiger's lair can be broken through~" Shunfeng pulled out a folding 'Money Sword' from his backpack, a sword that could be folded into three sections, and with just one look, I knew he was fooled again.

The Money Sword is used by Daoists to exorcise demons and subdue monsters, crafted from ancient coins and Red Rope. Although Shunfeng's hand-crafted sword is also made from Copper Coins, it had simplified characters printed on it...

All his gear is counterfeit, daring to break into a den of tigers and dragons with him must mean either a death wish or incredible daring.

I reckon I'm the latter, as it happens, the others have the same self-assessment!

Well, at least one certainty about our team is that we're bold.

Miss Scream is timid, but she has a skill for dizzying herself, so she's not too much trouble.

Chen Qinghan advised us not to rush, as everyone just emerged from the lake, with clothes and shoes all wet. The Underworld is extraordinarily cold and damp; without drying clothes, it's easy to fall ill.

All medical supplies are with Boss Lu. If any of them get sick, they can only leave it to fate.

Fortunately, there are many dead branches by the shore, and Shunfeng and Wen Jing volunteered to gather firewood.

Today's equipment is getting more advanced, their backpacks are waterproof, so even after rolling in the lake, the contents remain dry.

Their food and water are limited, being abandoned by the main group was unexpected, but they believe the exit is not far from the treasury. Once they get out, food and drink won't be an issue.

I received limited information from the Snake Guard due to their limited brain capacity, but thankfully, it remembers the route to the treasury clearly.

While Wen Jing and the others warmed up by the fire and ate compressed biscuits to replenish energy, I asked Chen Qinghan how he knew the correct path to the tomb and if he knew whose tomb this was.

Honestly, questions like who I am and where I came from have troubled me for many years. Even today, I am eager to know the answers.

"Seriously, Little Fu, you didn't do any investigation before coming to the tomb? You dared to come down without knowing whose tomb it is?" Wen Jing appeared shocked upon hearing my question.

"Not just me, but the other Tomb Raiders don't know either." I felt the need to clarify for myself. I don't remember because of memory loss. The other Tomb Robbers don't know because they aren't professional enough.

"This place has excellent Feng Shui, but officially, there's no documented literature on this tomb. Tomb Robbers use different methods from archaeology departments to locate tombs. So it's normal to find it but not know its origin," Chen Qinghan inserted timely.

"That's true. Little Fu, the owner and identity of this tomb are extremely mysterious. I'm afraid even if we told you, you might not believe it."

"Don't worry, I'm open to new things." As a millennium-old zongzi who became friends with Tomb Raiders, what wonders wouldn't I believe in!

"Alright then, let me tell you, buried in this tomb is a Heavenly Maiden, a Nine Heavens Fairy descended to earth—an overwhelmingly beautiful woman with boundless mana."

"Indeed, indeed, an Immortal's tomb, is it just an ordinary tomb? How many people in the world can see an Immortal with their own eyes? Isn't this tomb incredible?"

I opened my mouth, almost asking if I looked like a fairy. The words got stuck in my throat and swallowed back down.

"Hmph, what fairy, can an Immortal die? If they can die, they aren't Immortals..." Miss Scream's sudden quip startled me.

Immortals don't die, so is that why I've lived for a thousand years?

But I have no mana, can't ride clouds, or transform 72 times!

"Hey, I think those Immortals are just that—passed stories that became increasingly legendary. In reality, they were just remarkable persons." Wen Jing's quick change of stance made me a bit surprised; not long ago, he mentioned the Heavenly Maiden's boundless magic, and suddenly he downplayed her as an ordinary person.

It seems the truth of the rumors remains uncertain; perhaps the information they've gathered is nothing but hearsay.

"The concept of Immortals is elusive, but there are indeed many supernatural phenomena in the Heavenly Maiden Tomb. The Beauty's Tears guiding the way is a trick discovered by my friend in the No. 092 Heavenly Maiden Tomb," Chen Qinghan said, seemingly directing these words specifically at me.

"Ah? Just how many Heavenly Maiden tombs are there? I thought we discovered the unique one, turned out to be mass-produced!" Wen Jing looked disappointed.

Don't mention his disappointment, I, as the main person, am even more disheartened. Apparently, even in the eyes of a Tomb Raider, I'm numbered; I just don't know which number tomb I am.

"This tomb is different from other Heavenly Maiden Tombs, it is unique because, unlike other Heavenly Maiden Tombs, never has it been found before that an excavated tunnel would vanish," Chen Qinghan abruptly stopped speaking, fixing his gaze on my face for a second.

I've said before, this is a living tomb, and any tomb tunnels dug by Tomb Robbers would disappear.

"So, does that mean the Heavenly Maiden of this tomb is the real Heavenly Maiden, and the others are posers?" Wen Jing immediately revitalized upon hearing this tomb is unique.

"Maybe not, why this tomb is special, I haven't reached a conclusion yet. We'll talk again after we check out the treasury."

"A person dead for thousands of years, is it worth such heated discussion? Qinghan, don't forget to help my dad find that item. He values you greatly," Miss Scream shifted the topic, "Of course, if the mission fails, no worries, I'm here; he wouldn't trouble you."

Listening to Wen Jing, it seems he's here to hunt for treasure, while Shunfeng came to prove himself.

As for Miss Scream and Chen Qinghan, they have different motives. I'm curious about what item she mentioned.

If it's too valuable, that's not acceptable. All the burial items in this tomb belong to me. If they can take me out, in the spirit of having teamed up, I could allow her to take some pots and pans with her.
