These are stories I heard from a surviving Tomb Robber, whose team was numbered 303. There were initially twelve people who went down, but only two made it to the main tomb chamber.
One of them was dead, and the surviving person only realized something was wrong with his companion after entering the main tomb chamber.
I heard the survivor in the coffin say, "You're infected too." Out of curiosity, I half sat up and peered outside from the edge of the coffin, just as I saw that person swing an axe to split the dead person's head open.
Splitting wasn't enough; then he smashed it over ten times until the dead person's head turned into smashed watermelon.
He later told me, that this that's how you completely disable a corpse's ability to move.
After he smashed the deceased's head, things like Bean Sprout started growing from the corpse.
He said this is how those organisms spread, if there's any living thing nearby, they will attach to it and proliferate inside the living creature.
