"Ugh! I feel awful!"
Ye Manman bent over and dry heaved several times, but nothing came out. She felt extremely uncomfortable.
He Chen saw her sudden change and panicked. He wanted to pick her up and take her to the hospital but didn't dare to reach out, so he just squatted beside her, staring blankly.
"What's going on? Did you eat something bad or what? Should we go to the hospital?"
Ye Manman shook her head. Once she couldn't smell the meaty odor, she didn't feel as nauseous.
She sat back on the bench and took a sip of cold water, reassuring him with two quick "I'm fine" so he wouldn't worry too much.
"Did you just finish washing meat? Your hands have a strong smell. I felt nauseous and wanted to throw up because of it."
Usually, He Chen would wash his hands thoroughly after cooking, so Ye Manman thought he might be slacking today.
He Chen paused, looking perplexed as he sniffed his own hands.
"Huh? I washed my hands three times; there doesn't seem to be any smell..."
