Chapter 31 - Chapter 31: The Marriage Case

This isn't quite the urban village, yet it's similar enough.

Buildings closely packed together spread throughout the small area, resulting in narrow alleys that never see the sun.

The garbage bins, seemingly uncleaned for a long time, are scattered about, filling the alleyway with a pungent smell.

The ground is covered with rancid water, a sticky mess that makes one nauseous upon stepping in it.

Three silhouettes quietly appear nearby; a thief who was fleeing earlier turns and viciously glares at the two people.

"Chase!"

"Why aren't you chasing?"

The thief, with triangular eyes and a hawk nose, turns and draws a baton from his waist.

"Whoosh!"

With a sudden flick, a series of connected stainless steel tubes surge out, nearly a meter long, clearly more than a regular baton.

Without a word, the three close in, surrounding the two, and one begins in a muffled voice:

"Got the stuff?"

"Don't worry about my work." The thief patted his bag, his face smug:
