Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Saving the Big Boss

"What are you all doing?" Ye Zhi shouted, striding bravely out of the alley, pretending to be her usual self, smiling warmly, giving nothing away.

"Ah Zhi, why are you here?"

Seeing Ye Zhi's arrival, her friends' eyes lit up.

"I just finished having some snacks at Jingxin Building, and now I'm planning to go to Jixiu Pavilion to have some clothes made."

She turned her gaze to the young gentleman on the ground:

"Shen Chen, you actually left the house? Are you planning to sneak out for some fun? Well, you're in trouble now, not doing your work at home and daring to sneak out, I'm definitely going to tell mother to punish you. You better come with me to Jixiu Pavilion right now, or else you'll see what happens. I've already arranged for the master tailor there, you have to come with me now."

She ended with a couple of humphs to show her discontent.

Not tarrying long with those so-called "good friends," Ye Zhi left with the two of them.

The friends seemed accustomed to her usual demeanor, besides, what would boys do following a girl to make clothes?

They didn't stop Shen Chen, letting him go, after all, he was someone else's house servant.

The master and servant walked side by side in front, followed by Shen Chen, who had his head lowered and face expressionless, fists clenched, leaving others guessing at his thoughts.

"Ah Tao, look at these willows, they're so green, aren't they beautiful?!"

"Yes, Miss, when the wind blows them, they sway back and forth."

"Ah Tao, look at this sky, so blue, isn't it?"

"Yes, Miss, there are even a few clouds up there."

It's not that she was trying to say these boring things, having just rescued him in such a manner, she wondered if this future treacherous official could understand her good intentions.

He is smart enough to become a future prime minister, he should understand her, right??

Ye Zhi comforted herself.

If one observed closely, they would notice she was slightly trembling at the moment, with a faint quiver in her voice, different from her usual self,

while the person walking behind her, in a clumsy attempt to be clever, secretly gritted his teeth in his heart, making another note against her: The spoiled heiress of the Ye Family is still as rude and arrogant as ever.

Ye Zhi???

Jixiu Pavilion is three stories high, with blue-tiled pavilions, located in the bustling center of Jingzhao, in a prime location, elegantly and stylishly decorated. The storefront is mainly decorated in red, with orange as a secondary color, giving off a noble demeanor.

The store features a wide variety of novel clothing styles, specially prepared for noblewomen of the Capital City, with an area of more than a hundred square meters. Both the second and third floors have fitting rooms, Jixiu Pavilion, you deserve it.

Customers felt dazzled by the rich assortment of clothes.

Looking here and there, some who didn't lack money bought several sets at a time, having them tailored to fit.

Each outfit costs dozens of taels, or hundreds, even thousands, akin to modern-day Chanel.

The three crossed the tall wooden threshold, through the decorative plum blossom screen placed at the entrance.

Such a design is to prevent unwanted ogling by passing scoundrels while noble ladies and maidens select clothes, effectively preventing much of it, also known by an elegant alias, the Closed-Eye Gate.

After the recent turmoil, Ye Zhi wasn't in much of a mood to look at clothes, feeling rather downcast.

When the good-looking waiter smartly asked what style she wanted, she casually pointed to the young boy behind her: "Not for me, make him a set of the Capital City's popular style, priced between two hundred and three hundred taels."

At these words, the other three were momentarily stunned.

The waiter was only dazed for a second before quickly reacting, responding:

"Got it, the recently popular men's style, the cloud-white soft silk wide-sleeved orchid-patterned long robe is all the rage, many young gentlemen wear it. Come with me, I'll show you the style."

Jixiu Pavilion primarily sells women's clothing, men's clothing is relatively sparse, but they do have some.

The visitors are from the famous Ye Family of Jingzhao, the daughter of the Minister of Rites, with remarkable beauty, and he gave his utmost attention to serve them.
